We enjoyed our stay the cottage is cozy and private. We came up for skiing and the cottage is within 10 minutes of the hill. Stayed in for both nights as the cottage was nice with fire place. We would come back with no hesitation.
If I could give this more than 5 stars I would! The cottage most certainly facilitated extreme happiness and serenity for my boyfriend and me. The campfire pit was so fun. The patio outside the bedroom was amazing - especially in the morning when you could look out at the mountains! Snow + Mountains = Divine Beauty! We loved hanging out in the living room and just playing games and watching movies. It was hard to find on the map but once we were there we were so close to whatever we needed that it couldn't have been better! Our weekend in Collingwood included some awesome trail hiking (on Mountain Rd, near 11th ave), the Scandinave Spa and breakfast/coffee in the village at Blue Mountain. Will definitely have to plan a trip in the summer to utilize the private lake and campfire pit. I can't recommend this enough to people! The hosts were easily to get a hold of and provided everything we needed to know ahead of time.
Cheryl and John were great hosts and they have an amazing little cabin conveniently located just outside Collingwood. The property was easy to get to, better-than-pictured, and the perfect hideaway for a quiet weekend outside the city. We arrived late Friday night, but had no trouble finding the place, getting in and getting settled. The property is very well maintained, but guests should be reminded that they'll need to bring all their own linens. With just two of us staying, there was plenty of space, but four could be comfortable with the pull-out couch in the living room in a pinch (although there is only one bathroom - in the bedroom/loft so privacy would be limited with more people).
The owners really went above and beyond when I accidentally left an item at the house and they helped coordinate a Fedex pickup so I could get it delivered back to me.
All in all, a great stay and spot. We would go back and recommend to friends for a weekend away.
We stayed at this cabin Late October for a weekend with a couple of girlfriends. As everyone else has commented. The pictures DO NO JUSTICE, WOW. The weather was extremely windy all weekend, so much that we couldn't even attempt at a fire. Oddly enough, we didn't even mind. This place is perfect. Clean, private - and the hosts are wonderful.
I 100% will be back, most likely with my boyfriend next time - its quite breathtaking and not too far from home.
This two-story cabin is set on a freshwater spring full of trout and surrounded by beautiful terrain as well as some Landscaping. It is very serene so it is soothing to the mind and soul. I would not recommend coming here with other plans because you will want to stay at the cabin and relax the entire time. There is no internet at this time but I liked that. We turned the TV on for one movie one night otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed the peacefulness, the wild geese in the pond, feeding the trout and scouting for deer. I think John has great plans for this place. Rent it as soon as you can
My husband and I thought the cabin was pretty perfect. We had everything we needed and it was beautiful inside and out. The pond and view of the mountains, especially at sunset, was stunning. We'll definitely be back. Thanks John.
