Overview

About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 10

You'll enjoy breathtaking whitewater views at this lovely Cape Cod-style oceanfront vacation home on the Mendocino Coast. You can keep a look out for gray whales or take in the drama of sweeping ocean views. It's the perfect getaway for up to 10 lucky guests, and there's a private hot tub, too!

Located on its own cove between the towns of Mendocino and Fort Bragg, this beautiful three-bedroom home is close to the ocean and also near various dining and outdoor options available in the coastal hamlets.

Enter another world through the beautiful landscaped grounds. The carpeted living room with a view boasts a curved leather couch, leather armchair and ottoman and a wooden rocking chair. A comfy window seat with dozens of colorful pillows outlines the entire living space. A roaring glass-front wood stove and entertainment system make the living room a perfect place for cozy interludes or entertaining groups. Grab a book from the built-in bookshelf and relax on the black leather couch in the intimate family room.

A well-supplied country kitchen and dining room combination encourage an enthusiastic social atmosphere. Any gourmand worth his weight in salt will delight in the kitchen accouterments at hand.

The master suite offers southern coastal views through sliding glass doors, which lead to the deck, spa, pond and, yes, outdoor shower. Two upstairs bedrooms have glass sliding doors, which open to reveal a large balcony overlooking the cove. Three bathrooms ensure nobody will be fighting over the shower in the morning. There's space for 10 guests, so bring the whole family!

A washer and dryer and free WiFi are on hand. The coastal location affords guests views of ospreys carrying fish in their talons or flocks of penguins cruising in formation. Gray whales often swim by so be on the lookout! The grounds are expansive and lovely with large trees and beautiful flowers in bloom in the spring and summer. You'll find many a spot to relax and read outdoors.

Mendocino and Fort Bragg are both nearby and offer a wealth of dining and outdoor opportunities. Mendocino has myriad ocean bluffs at which to gaze upon the wonder of the sea. Wineries abound so take a day to savor the local vino. Mendocino was established in the 1850s and boasts New England-style architecture, from grand Victorians to saltbox cottages. Fort Bragg boasts many historical sites, from the Skunk Train to Noyo Harbor. It's also a great place to shop and dine.

This expansive Northern California Coast rental, complete with sea view and beautiful landscaping is the perfect escape for a large party.

About Vacasa, CA - Northern California Coast Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental managementthings like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Property is old and in need of updating. Great View and Great Location

 • 2 of 5

Property in serious need of an update for $500+ per night. Master shower is un-useable due to angle of new shower head and lack of adjustment. Hot tub had white floaters of some kind and was over chemicalled not allowing us or the kids to use. Work going on at the property adjacent during our stay was bothersome as they were using our properties driveway, parking area and breeze way to access the work they were doing. Not as comfortable, modern or user friendly as other properties I have stayed at both in Fort Bragg and other VRBO or VACASA properties.

Neighbor is a super nice guy and offered us lots of great ideas to eat and explore when we first arrived. A fire pit would be a great option in the grass area between the deck and cliff.

Dreamy Beach House!

 • 5 of 5

We loved our weekend getaway and our friends were very jealous when we posted pictures of this gorgeous house! Very cozy and absolutely the best view of the ocean one can get. Our biggest obsessions are the window seats overlooking the ocean and the private hot tub. We had amazing dinners out on the deck, and watched the sunsets from any place in the house (even the bathroom had a beautiful ocean view!). We had very few issues with our stay, like the back left back burner on the kitchen stove wasn't working, and wished the kitchen knives were sharper. Otherwise, we had a great experience and stay!

A view is all this home has to offer

 • 2 of 5

Very run down home. Surface cleanliness was great, and the only thing keeping this review from being 1 star. Tired furnishings, musty-smell, mildewed bathroom, and a lot of two-bit hack repairs makes this home feel less than a vacation. The hill behind the house is essentially off-limits, not only from the nasty signage inside the rental, but from the bog-like conditions caused by the "pond". Listing company should be ashamed of themselves for renting this property out in it's condition. Makes me question the quality of all their rentals.

Loved the location and layout of the property!

 • 4 of 5

One of the great features was the hot tub overlooking the ocean and the huge living room overlooking the cliffs and ocean. We were promised wifi, but it didn't work. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise. Lots of time interacting! The wildlife was great! The landscaping is gorgeous. This is an older coastal home. Don't expect a upscale yuppie place, but a family home that feels cozy and warm. A beautiful spot to truly spend quality time and take in the true beauty of the coast!
