About the property

Stay In The Beautifully Restored Cabin On This Historic 52 Acre Organic Farm

This is a true one-of-kind experience to stay at this amazing 52 acre historic landmark property right near Seven Springs, Hidden Valley, Ligonier, Fallingwater and Ohiopyle. The farm property includes a huge pond for swimming and is adjacent to a 3000 acre state forest with the most incredible hiking trails. Just a few miles off of the turnpike you will surround yourself with the amazing feeling of living on a restored historic farm. Rent this incredibly lovely one-room plus one bathroom bunkhouse that is situated right next to the historic barn. The bunkhouse has been newly redone with a fully equipped kitchen and lovely bath. The pull-out sofa-bed is a double so it sleeps two and the futon is a twin which sleeps one very comfortably as you enjoy a relaxing night on this quiet farm.

Please note that we prefer a two-night stay for weekend rentals.

About Janet McKee

I was born and raised in Pittsburgh by a father who grew up in a poor farm town in Italy. As a board certified holistic health counselor and MBA type, I guess I had farming in my blood, because late in my career, I decided to buy a farm. I've been teaching folks about the power of food choices to heal the body but began to realize that the source of the food was just as critical. So, the desire to have a place where I could grow organic fruits and vegetables and possibly to have a greenhouse to grow all winter long led me to start looking for a farm. Well, after years of looking, my son and I fell immediately in love with this amazing 52 acre historic property. We then began our journey of restoring the buildings that were all built in the 1800s. What has been created out of one of the buildings on the property is the most cozy and comfortable bunkhouse cabin. We are so pleased to share this amazing place with you!

Janet McKee purchased this cabin in 2012

This bunkhouse was perfect for a couple nights of rest and relaxation. It was very clean, tidy, and comfortable. It had everything I needed. The property was beautiful and well taken care of. I definitely plan on returning whenever I need some time to myself.

The property is beautiful!

Great little cabin! Perfect for two people on a weekend getaway. Only complaint was sleeping on the pull out couch. A bed would make this place perfect! Would highly recommend.

Amazing, Super and totally relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

As we drove to thus picturesque 54 acre property, we knew we are in the stay of a lifetime. From the cozy cabin to walk in the hills this was exactly my wife and I looking for. There is no doubt in my mind that we will be back and possibly even making this one of our yearly stops!

We are only three miles off of the turnpike on your way to all of these great destinations. Seven Springs is only four miles away and offers wonderful skiing, biking, swimming and many many fun activities. There is so much to do in and around this area!

This cabin is part of a 52 acre Pittsburgh Historic Landmark Property that has become a new organic fruit and vegetable farm. It is a stunning example of restored historic buildings surrounded by beautiful countryside. You must see the restored historic barn, that is available to rent for parties etc... along with the restored cozy springhouse that can also house one or two people. The entire property is fed by fresh spring water that is filtered so be sure to drink right out of the tap!

The bunkhouse cabin is newly redone with a brand new kitchen and bathroom. This cozy one-room plus bathroom cabin has everything you need including pots and pans, range, refrigerator, coffee maker, toaster, pull-out sofa bed, futon couch/bed, shower, heating and air conditioning. Definitely a cool and cozy cabin on a beautiful farm.
