Alpha Cottage is the perfect base for walking and cycling, or just enjoying being beside the seaside. Robin Hoods Bay beach is 20 mins walk away, the Cleveland Way and the Cinder track are even closer . Peaceful village location.
It sleeps 4, over 3 levels.
It is attached to our family home and is completely self-contained only sharing the short footpath in front of the courtyard space.
Sleeping: Two bedrooms give sleeping space for 4 people - one double bed, two single beds. The double bed in on the 1st floor, a skip, jump and hop to the bathroom. The attic room (2nd floor) has two single beds and views across Fylingthorpe towards the sea. The bathroom has a shower over the bath.
Eating: There is a small but perfectly formed kitchen, equipped with cooker, dishwasher, microwave and toaster.
Work and Play: there is free WIFI, a TV and DVD player as well as a freeview TV recorder (humax).
General: The cottage has full central heating and there is an open fire (with one bucket of coal or logs provided during winter months. More fuel available at local shop).
Bedding and bathroom towels (one per person) are provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
A washing machine is located under the stairs.
Parking is on-street. There are steps up to the cottage from the roadside. Note: a parking space outside the cottage is not guaranteed, but one closeby is very likely.
==Interaction with Guests==
Alpha Cottage is attached to our home Alpha House, only sharing the short footpath in front of the courtyard. The cottage is completely self contained. There is a keylock available to enable you to access the cottage easily, alternatively, if we are home, knock on the main house door and say 'Hello' and we will be delighted to show you into the cottage and then we will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay.
Robin Hoods Bay, a quaint little fishing village, is located just over half a mile from the cottage. Leave the car behind and wander through the narrow streets and passages, enjoying the tea shops, gift shops and pubs. Explore rock pools, make sand sculptures, find fossils and jet or just paddle in the sea.
Whitby is famous for Captain James Cook and Dracula, its Abbey and Whitby Jet. Board a boat trip, catch some surf and sand, or meander through the cobbled streets and treat yourself to a piece of Whitby Jet jewellery.
You are surrounded by the beautiful North York Moors, steeped in history and with magnificent views, explore villages, market towns, jump aboard a steam train and follow in the cycle tracks of the "Tour de Yorkshire".
Amenities within Fylingthorpe and a few mins walk from the cottage, include a village store (open daily), butcher / bakers, play area and a public house (providing food and drink). The X93 bus route passes through the village, travelling along the coastline to Whitby and beyond, or to Scarborough. There are more amenities and a taxi firm in Robin Hoods Bay.

- Parking is on-street. A space outside the property is not guaranteed but one nearly is very likely.

- There are steps up to the cottage from the roadside, and the cottage is on three levels.
- The property may not be suitable for young children and people who have difficulty climbing steps due to the layout of the cottage and access to it. Please see photos.
