This home comes with it all but with the true rustic olde chard and not the brass and glass. Each bedroom has a private bathrooms, vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans, and individual wall heaters for your own comfort level. Home comes with wrap around decking, screen porches,, wood stove, washer, dryer, dishwasher, wifi and cable TV. Each bedroom also has sliding glass doors opening to a second level deck overlooking the Hudson River. Large yard for all your family activities including a fire pit for the nightly bon fire. Pets are ok based on pre approval. This home has been undergoing renovations with an all new second floor. That is new bedrooms and bathrooms from top to bottom. the owner wishes to keep the ADK charm of the original cape style and keep the rates low for families to come and enjoy the ADKs with out breaking the bank. You will not find this home as a hotel or a modern sheek place to stay. The at home feel with return tenants that appreciate the style is what we are striving for. Make yourself at home while visiting the ADK's. With an all new second level, the bedroom still have room size rugs in stead of wall to wall carpeting as this has been quite the process.New siding, windows, main level flooring, decks, added bathrooms etc are just a few of the completed projects with more to come. Come and enjoy with your family at a family home. The pictures on the website are accurate.
This property was bought originally to run as a bed and breakfast. Do to changes in the family it was not possible to make this dream come true. Instead it was decided to open up the second level and do a major remodel job. The hope was to provide a family getaway home people could vacation at with comfort. It does not have the brass ans sassy of today's modern upscale rental but more the charm and history of an Adirondack family home. We want families to come and enjoy the space. we just ask that is treated with respect.
The benefits of this home is its location and set up. large enough for a large family or two or three small ones. This home is also cozy enough for that couple to get away. we are close to most major attractions, yet far enough away to escape the hustle and bustle.
We just had a wonderful ski trip to Gore with a couple other families plus 2 dogs and this house was perfect for us. It is clean but comfortable so you can really relax there. At the top of the center hall stairs are 4 bedrooms, each with a double bed, it's own brand new bathroom, its own controllable heating vent, and it's own sliding glass door out to a deck/balcony which made each room beautiful and sunlit. Those rooms housed the adults. At the top of the back staircase there is 1 bedroom with a twin bed and off that room is another bedroom with a double bed and a double futon plus plenty of floor space for 2-3 twin aerobeds which we brought with us. Those 2 rooms share a bathroom and were a perfect hang out for the kids! It is exactly 8 miles (10 min) from the house to the base of Gore. The charming town of North Creek is between Gore and the house, with several restaurants, a Rite Aid pharmacy and a Tops grocery store. Kevin was very helpful and responded very quickly to any questions via email (good wifi in the house). There were very few rules and instructions, which made life simple. Almost everything was self-explanatory. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. The washer and dryer worked very well. We got several pretty good tv channels (even the SyFy channel for the requisite New Year's Weekend Twilight Zone marathon!) and a DVD player. There was wood for the wood stove but we were always too wiped out to make a fire, and the electric heat was good. There were plenty of sheets and towels for everyone. There is a circular driveway which is almost completely flat, and right on Route 28. The view of the Hudson River across the street was gorgeous! In summary, this is a great ski house that comfortably holds a lot of people.
There were 8 of us that stayed from Oct 21st-24th. The house was plenty big and it had everything you need to make your stay great. The décor made you feel right at home. Kevin was very helpful through the whole process from inquiring to booking to checking out. The area was beautiful and the Hudson River was right across the street. We would highly recommend this property and would stay again in a heartbeat.
The pics are accurate. Everyone felt comfortable in all of the rooms. The view was excellent, the river was 300 feet from the home. If you are coming to relax, this is the perfect location to stay at. Customer service was great too.
We stayed at this house during during mid-spring to visit nearby relatives. During our stay we had 3 families with us, all having their own bedroom AND bathroom (who can't appreciate that!?). The house is charming and has a very country feel. Across the street is the glorious Hudson River with several outdoorsy warm weather activities. We loved staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat.
My group of 12 stayed at the house in march and really enjoyed it. There was plenty of room and the owner was very helpful ad responsive with any questions and concerns we had prior to renting. We would certainly stay there again for a ski weekend at Gore with a big group
Our group of 13 stayed in late January and had a great time at this house. It was a great value for the price and having private baths was really nice. The home is old and rustic but very warm, clean, and comfortable. The pictures are very accurate and the location was great, only 10 minutes from Gore. There was plenty of hot water, blankets, towels, and a very well equipped kitchen including crockpots, blenders, toasters, a hand mixer, coffee pots, and even a freezer. Our entire group said they would like to stay again next year.
