We travel regularly and this was a superb location and the cottage was excellent.

Emma was the ultimate host and was very friendly.

We will certainly be back.

Fabulous place, fantastic value for money and wonderful surroundings.

Just left Colleridge Cottage at Windwhistle Farm after a brilliant 4 night stay. It had everything we needed and amazing views across the valley from the window and garden.

The owners Emma and Paul were so lovely and made us feel very welcome. Don't be put off by me saying this if you prefer privacy, as whilst they were there, they were certainly not intrusive in any way. They simply want you to enjoy your stay and if you needed anything you could just go and ask.

The cottage was impeccably clean and had all the home comforts. We took our 4 dogs who loved the garden and did a lot of barking not being used to sheep or horses but were made very welcome nonetheless (thank you Emma and Paul for putting up with our incessant barking, love Eddie (if you find a lot of stones in the garden that's my fault as I collect them for treasure), Margaret (I barked the most), Nim (I dug holes in the lawn looking for moles) & Ada (I couldn't stop barking at the sheep in the next field as I didn't know what it was).

If you're looking for somewhere away from it all, a place to explore Exmoor from, with or without dogs then this place is for you.

Fantastic - everything you need!

  • 5 of 5

Everything has been thought of to make for a very comfortable stay. Really friendly people and luxurious accommodation. High quality furnishings and amazingly warm, even without the gorgeous wood burner on the go! Lovely views and so peaceful. On a clear night we went out into garden, it was pitch dark and the stars we could see were amazing, clearest I've ever seen the Milky Way Galaxy! I love the fact that in most of the pubs in this area you can sit with your dog, which is great if you're out walking and fancy stopping for a bite to eat or a quick pint! Minehead is worth a trip, and go to the Apple Tree Café (number 1 in Menhead, just look at the cakes) as they LOVE dogs and give them treats and their own blanket to lie on when you go in! I would definitely return to these cottages as they are 5 star quality and you just step out of the front door and you've countryside walks straight away - and I'd love to see the 4 resident dogs again, so friendly!!!

Great cottage and location with excellent hosts.

Emma could not have been more welcoming or helpful throughout our stay. The cottage is very comfortable and has a lovely view. Our dog was happy and we were never made to feel that she was a problem to anyone. The location is excellent with access to the many places to visit on Exmoor easy.
