Enjoy the tranquillity and seclusion of our spacious and newly refurbished pool house chalet, located on our 30 acre working farm and equestrian centre in the rural hamlet of Henton on the outskirts of Chinnor. Opened for the first time as a vacation home in 2016, we are sure that The Pool House at Upper Farm Henton will be your home away from home.

With its own private swimming pool (heated from May to September) and a 6 person year round outdoor hot tub jacuzzi spa, you are surrounded by acres of green paddocks and our 1 acre carp and coarse fishing lake. Our self-catering chalet is the perfect setting for those who want to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The Pool House at Upper Farm Henton is ideal for couples looking for a romantic getaway, or as a base for families, walkers, cyclists, anglers and business travellers and as we are only 40 minutes from Heathrow airport it’s also ideal for international visitors.

Located in an area of natural beauty and with spectacular views over the Chiltern Hills to Bledlow Ridge, it is the perfect setting for those who want a relaxing break in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. The village of Chinnor is 1.5 miles away with convenience stores and a few eateries plus we have the historic Chinnor Steam Railway, the town of Princes Risborough is just 4 miles away, with a good rail service into London Marylebone (40 to 50 minutes) and the historic market town of Thame is 7 miles away.

For birdwatchers, our fishing lake is surrounded by trees and is the home to red kites, kingfishers, sparrow hawks, woodpeckers, buzzards, kestrels, ducks, moor hens, pheasants and some very friendly robins and wrens. In the evening you are like to see foxes, badgers, rabbits and munt jack.

With two public footpaths running through the farm, walkers and cyclists can quickly and easily get on to the Phoenix trail and The Ridgeway, with miles upon miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore.

Angling guests at The Pool House have unlimited and inclusive access during their stay to fish our 1 acre carp and coarse lake located 100m from your holiday accommodation.

About The Owner

Born and bred in South Essex. I moved to South Bucks in 2006 when I married my wife (Ali) and we moved to South Oxfordshire in 2014 when we bought Upper Farm in Henton. I seem to like living in the Southern part of UK counties!!!

I'm an entrepreneur, specialising in IT and Technology. Technically I'm semi-retired and luckily I get to work from home (which is the farm) most of the time.

I'm an Exec and Non Exec Director for a number of small UK companies.

More recently I've been involved in putting in smart home technology into new builds and retrofits for existing properties.

Upper Farm is a great place to live and we love having guests staying in the Pool House and enjoying the peace, tranquility and beauty of the farm and the South Oxfordshire countryside.

It's a great lifestyle, which we never take for granted and appreciate everyday.

The Owner purchased this chalet in 2014

What makes this chalet unique

The farm looks out to Bledlow Ridge and the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We are in the country, but not too far away from civilisation. There are miles upon miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore along the Upper Icknield Way/Ridgeway which is one of the oldest footpaths in the UK.

Our guests enjoy seeing horses walking past the window of The Pool House and out grazing in our paddocks.

Our guests also love the swimming pool and hot tub and we are one of only 2 properties in Oxfordshire to offer both a pool and hot tub.

Guests that fish also enjoy the unlimited access to our picturesque carp and coarse fishing lake located just 100m from the Pool House.

Add in modern fixtures and fittings, a fully equipped kitchen and a large High Definition TV and Sky+ HD box, there is plenty to keep our guests entertained during their stay.

There is a optional folding bed in the Boot Room which is comfortable and sleeps 2. Please note: Maximum of 4 adults for any booking. If your group contains more then 4 guests, then please message the host beforehand with details of your party size.

Great location and facilities

Very welcoming hosts and comprehensive info pack. Had a great stay here as there are loads of places to go and see. Peacock pub 10 mins walk does great food. Accomodation very comfortable. Pool and hot-tub are excellent extras.

I loved staying here. First of all the house and the garden is very clean. Also, I found everything in the kitchen to cook. The hot tub was really nice either. I highly recommend this place.

Great relaxing getaway

This is an extremely well equipped retreat.

Gary was a very considerate host who communicated brilliantly with us even before we arrived. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and shown how to use the factilies.

We were then left to enjoy our stay.

Unfortunately the English weather was not on our side (even with it being August!) but that didn't stop us from having a lovely stay and making full use of the hot tub and heated swimming pool.

It was lovely being able to wander around the onsite lake and venture out to the nearby pub for a drink too.

Would highly recommend & will hopefully be returning on some warmer days (fingers crossed).

Exactly like the pictures!

We had an amazing vacation! The kids swam in the pool every day while we enjoyed the hot tub. The pool house was clean, comfortable, and private. We would definitely stay here again!!!
