it was very nice! silent, beautiful and the house is really useful
We traveled with our friends to this magical place. The location and house are even better in person. The owner's house is not too far from the property and he is very attentive and wants to make sure everyone is happy. I traveled with my family for 3 weeks throughout Europe and this place has to be one of the highlights for its tranquility and beauty. Thanks to the owner, Patrick, for your kindness and hospitality. We hope to see you again sometime soon.
This property is absolutely gorgeous! The photos do not do it justice. The house is huge and beautifully decorated with original art and antiques. There are many places to dine outside and hammocks for relaxation. The pool is perfect, the kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with everything you could ever need, The house is located high on a hill, surrounded by hiking trails, opportunities for horseback and bike riding, and lavender fields. The house provides utter tranquility, overlooking the ancient village of Cereste, which is a five minute drive from the house. Cereste is tiny, but has everything you need, including two bakeries, an ATM, several restaurants and cafes, and an ice cream shop. We saw no other tourists during our stay and were able to enjoy the local French culture, including a lovely music festival in the town square. The owner of the property, Patrick, is wonderful and incredibly thoughtful. He built the house himself, and the care he took in every detail is evident. While he speaks little English, he arranged for us to meet with several of his English speaking friends to ensure that we had everything we needed. They also gave us advice on the local area, which was very helpful and not in our tour books. Patrick even brought bicycles for our kids and prepared fishing poles so we could fish in the nearby pond behind the house. He even provided us with honey from his hives and lavender oil from his fields. It truly was a magical stay. The only caveat I would state is that the house is far away from it all - about an hour from avignon, a little further from arles, cassis or les baux, but close to the villages of the Luberon. If you're looking for easy proximity to tourist sites or lots of action, you may want to stay further west. That said, we were able to take day trips to all the sites, but often preferred just to enjoy the beautiful house and all it offered. Before my arrival, I wondered why there were no other reviews on the site and was a little nervous booking this house. As it turns out, Patrick only recently has started listing the property on VRBO and he has not rented to Americans before.
Excellent accueil. Très belle maison dans un endroit magnifique.
