NO LARGE PARTIES OR GATHERINGS INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OUR CABIN/PROPERTY. THANK YOU.
This was our first time in this area and our trip has been wonderful!
The cabin is very clean and the boat ramp was less than 200 yds from the cabin.
Owners were really nice and accommodating. Location was minutes from Scottsboro, restaurants and Wal-Mart. We will be back! Thanks for sharing you home.
The home was very nice and exactly as we expected. The owners go above and beyond to make sure your stay is enjoyable. We will be going back. If you're lucky, Mitch will be bbq'ing and bring you a plate. Very good cook. It was nice sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings without the bugs carrying you off. Only wished I would have brought a hammock. I cannot say enough about the owners, Mitch and Joann, they made us feel like we were family. They know how to treat people well.
We had a great stay here, Mitch and Joan were extremely caring and helpful! I would recommend staying here, we loved it!
We had a great time spending the weekend here. The owners were extremely nice. Mr. Adams even jumped off my car when the battery died and offered to give me a ride if needed. Just super nice people. The cabin is very nice and very well furnished. The dock is large and well maintained with lights and power. My girls caught several brim and a couple of catfish. We really enjoyed ourselves. It is not far to Walmart and other places to shop and eat. Unclaimed baggage is not too far either. If you are looking for a place to stay in Scottsboro give this a look.
Mitch was super nice and helpful. The cabin was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils I needed to cook our meals. We really enjoyed the screened in front porch. Boat house was great for fishing and best of all no mosquitos! We loved this little cabin and will definitely be back!
Thanks Mitch & Joan
Cute, clean & cozy. We really enjoyed our stay. Mitch was great and has everything you could need!
This was our second trip to Lake Guntersville since 2015 for late spring fishing and our first stay in the green cabin. Although an old structure, it had all the comforts needed for my wife and I and our hosts were friendly and helpful. To name a few positives: a great screened in porch with plenty of seating – one could host 20 people there for a party; good sized hot water heater; washer/dryer/dishwasher; fiber-optic based Internet and Cable TV; convenient location just across the bridge from Scottsboro; and plenty of plush towels; No mosquitoes due to spraying service.
Others have mentioned the Internet was spotty and we experienced this on parts of 2 out of 8 days, but being technical I did some troubleshooting. I found the WiFi repeater between the cabin and the main house supported between 70-120 Mbps, and the uplink/downlink through the Internet supplier supported 20Mbps when things were working. Now that is at least 4X the bandwidth needed to stream a movie so this was awesome! The trouble was that the DNS services would jam up from time to time and page lookups would fail. I think this is growing pains with the Internet supplier (local phone company) that has only recently gone to fiber optic and nothing within the control of our hosts. Hopefully it will improve with time.
Fishing off the pier and boathouse seemed to be off as compared to our prior year, but my wife still caught plenty of pan fish, and some catfish. We even opted for an expensive private/professional bass charter one day, and after 6 hours in a $70K bass boat, came up with nothing. My wife did better with a dozen nightcrawlers than our professional did!!! Everyone we talked to said fishing was off all over the lake, so it was not localized to the cabin we chose.
We were looking for a row boat or john boat to rent to fish off the shore near the cabin, and came up dry. The best we were able to locate was a small pontoon boat, but the rental rate was just too high. Hope to do better next trip.
The cabin is up the hill and under trees, so relatively peaceful and quiet. The boat house was just a bit too close to the bridge, with spurts of road traffic noise. If we were ¼ mile farther away from the bridge, it would be better.
A first trip to the Unclaimed Luggage center was a highlight, and my wife scored a high-end woman’s watch she had been hunting for for about 3 years at less than 15% of the price new, and in perfect shape.
We’ll be back again. Happy fishing
