Great location for beach and little town.

Property satisfactorily equipped .

Not spotlessly clean overall and rather tired looking but did not let this spoil our stay.

Patsy the owner / housekeeper was pleasant and helpful.

Excellent location and cosy little house. We loved our stay here.

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for a week and were made to feel very welcome. The location was ideal and very close to the local village, where we enjoyed drinks and live music in local bars. During the day, we made the short journey into Galway for shopping and also boarded the boat to Inis Mor, which is also nearby. Patsy made sure we were stocked up with peat for the fire and treated us very well. The only problem is that our stay had to end. If we can get the time off work again, we intend to revisit this cottage.

A wonderful cottage and outstanding host!

  • 5 of 5

Patsy welcomed us and made sure we had all we needed. Having laundry facility and walking distance to village was great. Internet was fine for us. Also this location is so centrally located. Every site of interest in the area is no more than an hour away. Don't miss the Celtic crystal store on this, river road street to the north just past the light on n59. Galway is less than 1/2 hour. Also don't miss the orient express dining at glen location abbey 20 minutes awat( our best meal in Ireland. Pub food is outstanding too! We stayed two weeks here and had a wonderful time. Joyce's Sheep dog exhibition near finny is outstanding.

No wifi

  • 3 of 5

Our stay at the cottage was fine. The bed was uncomfortable but not unexpected as we knew this wasn't a hotel. The most disappointing thing was we booked this cottage over others because of the free wi-fi. You could not use it in the cottage at all. We finally figured out the last day that if we stood outside we could use it.

Owner's Response: Thank you kindly for your review. We are very sorry that you experienced bad coverage for the internet service. The owner is looking into installing a better modem, hopefully will be resolved very shortly. We hope to see you once again in Connemara Thanks Yvonne

I love this place.

  • 5 of 5

Spiddal Cottage has become one of my favorite places to stay. It is centrally located for me to be able to drive around the west of Ireland, just a 15 minute drive from Galway City right on the coast. This year I went to Limerick and Clifden with my daughter. I also had the fun of showing my daughter the beautiful artisan shops of Ceardlann an Spidéil. We were able to make food in the well equipped kitchen and I even made bread. I have everything I need in the cottage which is perfect as I am traveling from the West coast of Canada and can only bring one suitcase. Our host Patsy is such a delight, giving information about the area and providing us with all the information we need to have a comfortable and pleasant holiday. I am quite sure I will be back. An Spidéal - áit iontach a bheith.
