Private Scottish Countryside Villa Near St. Andrews
average rating of 5.0 based on 1 reviews

Excellent vacation near St. Andrews

  • 5 of 5

We spent 4 nights in this villa. It is beatifull, spacious, clean and had everything we could possibly need. Set in a lovely rural location, making it the ideal place to get away from it all, perfect as a home base. We rented a car while there and took day trips to St Andrews, Edimburg and Glamis Castle (excellent decision) and then come back every evening. We had dinner twice in the hotel restaurant which was very good and the other days we cooked in the fully equipped kitchen. We would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family.

The villa is located in a great place to explore Scotland. Only 6 miles from the home of golf, you can easily access some of the most famous golf courses in the world. St. Andrews also boasts a fantastic history that can be explored through its Cathedral ruins, Castle Tours, and University buildings. Quaint boutique shops line the streets along with Scottish pubs and award winning restaurants.

If you want to explore a little beyond the St. Andrews area, you can enjoy fish and chips on the harbour of one of the East Neuk of Fife fishing villages. Each village is unique and charming with beautiful views of the North Sea.

If you are looking to travel a little further from St. Andrews, Edinburgh is only a 45 minute train ride away. The villa is a 5 minute drive to the nearest train station and you have no transfers before arriving at Waverly Station in the middle of Edinburgh city center.

If you prefer to stay within the rural setting, fly fishing, stag hunts, and bird shoots are available on local estates within 25 miles of your accommodation. Or, you can go only an hour's drive North to hike and fish in the Scottish Glens. Other cities within reach for a day trip include Pitlochry, Stifling, Auchterarder, and previously mentioned Edinburgh.

The Craigsanquhar Villa is located perfectly to explore so many areas of Scotland allowing you to return home in the evening to enjoy the views and peacefulness of the Scottish Countryside.

Whiskey Tours, Castle Tours, Historical Sights, Shopping, Reformation Tours or Pub Hopping all within close proximity to our villa.
