About Garey

As a native of Sarasota, I grew up riding horses on Siesta Key and building bonfires on the beach at night with my friends. Things have changed a lot but I would never think of leaving. I love the Key as much now as I did then.

Garey purchased this condo in 1988

Why Garey chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

This is reminiscent of a lazier time in Florida when things moved more slowly and revolved around beach walking, sunsets and drinks with friends. This is not Corporate Condo living. This is a unique cottage (much as you would see in Key West) for guests who enjoy the flavor of 'Old' Florida.

What makes this condo unique

How could you beat being right across the street form access #8 and .03 (yes, .03) miles to the village! No need for a car just flip flops and a straw hat.

Great location in Siesta Key.

  • 4 of 5

I spent the past 2 months at this cottage and I loved it. It was very comfortable for me and my dog. I loved the enclosed garden and the space, in general.

Gary, the owner, and his sister-in-law, Brenda, who lives next door were wonderful. They were very eager to help if there were any problems and really on top of everything. I'm returning next winter.

This bungalow is perfect for families or couples. Perfect to walk to beach and village. Been going to Siesta Key for 15 years and this place is A+++. Bungalow has EVERYTHING you need. Super clean with comfy bed. Garey the owner makes sure everything is perfect. I have now recommended this place to everyone I know. A true hidden treasure.

Funky and Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

What a find this bungalow is. An older property that has been updated to create a very charming place for a beach getaway. Very clean and furnished with everything you need, including beach towels, chairs, and umbrella. Quite spacious with large bedroom and kitchen, plus a living room, sunroom, and bath. The very private patio is shaded all day long and perfect for reading or dining before or after a day at the beach. Owner Garey was very easy to work with during the booking process; and Garey's sister-in-law Brenda lives on-site and is readily available to answer questions. Although only a short walk to Siesta Village, the area is generally very quiet. Only one caveat: Access to Siesta Beach is nearby but requires a very long walk across very soft sand to actually get to the Gulf. The beach is beautiful once you get to it, but there are other access points and beaches that may be better-suited for some guests. Overall, we were very happy with the bungalow and highly recommend it to others. Excellent location and value.

We really enjoyed our stay here.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed the whole week of Thanksgiving. Glad that there were 2 futons (one for me and one for my niece). A murphy bed or sleeper sofa would be more comfortable for a longer stay. Gary has beach chairs and an umbrella for use. The bungalow had everything that we needed. Gary was easy to reach by phone and Brenda was also available and very helpful. The bungalow is very close to the beach and to the village. Great location! I would definitely stay again!

Inviting, cozy, clean, and very comfortable.

  • 5 of 5

My family stayed at this rental property mid October and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home and everything that was needed and then some. The kitchen had everything needed for cooking, the closest was spacious and plenty of storage, also there were plenty of towels both bathroom and beach. The private courtyard was purchased favorite where we spent every morning eating breakfast and enjoying the sunshine. Our dogs loved to explore the greenery that was out there.

Very close to the beach less than a 5 minute walk. Parking was not an issue We made very good use of the grill and we had very easy access to the village.

The perfect hideaway

  • 5 of 5

This beautiful little place has it all - a pretty little sunroom, a well-appointed kitchen, a bright and colorful living room, a relaxing and spacious bedroom, a washer/dryer, a cute little courtyard...and the location can't be beat. Close to an excellent beach access (the smallish pkg lot means this part of the beach is less crowded than the area by the pavilion), and close enough to the village for a quick walk (yet also far enough away that you're safe from the roar of the madding crowds). Two adults and two kids stayed here comfortably and we loved it. Too many nice little touches to list here...can't say enough good things about the place or about Garey. We are so happy we stayed in this sweet spot.
