Hidden away behind The Old Vicarage in the pretty village of Bolam is Vicarage Cottage. With stunning views down into the mid Tees valley, this one bedroomed detached holiday cottage is perfect for couples wanting to get away from it all. Ideally situated for walking, cycling and fishing. A wonderful area for good food having a Michelin stared restaurant within 2 miles and several very fine restaurants within 10 miles. Beautifully appointed, this cosy cottage has bags of character and many original features.
Nearby there are many places of interest to visit such as Raby Castle; The Seat of Lord Barnard, Shildon National Railway Museum which is an offshoot of York National Railway Museum and the village of Piercebridge with its Roman remains.
The area is Ideal for exploring. A mere 30-minute drive North is the City of Durham with its famous Cathedral and Castle, both of which are steeped in history. A little further north is Beamish, the living museum of the North; a must-see attraction for all visitors to the area. To the west are the Pennines, Bowes Museum which recently housed the much acclaimed Yves Saint Laurent Exhibition and High Force, a stunning 70ft waterfall making it Britains highest uninterrupted drop of water. To the south is the Georgian Market town of Richmond with The Green Howard Museum, Richmond Castle and the fascinating Station with unique artisan pop-up stalls and shops, a great little cinema, and beautiful riverside walk.
The cottage is fully equipped; all bed linen and towels are provided along with Freeview TV and DVD, Wi-fi & Off road parking. A superb welcome pack is also included.

Vicarage Cottage is a non-smoking environment and we cannot accept dogs.
As Bolam is a rural village you will need a car as there is no public transport. However there is a pub in the village which is within walking distance.
