About the property

8 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, dog friendly

Bucolic atmosphere, fresh air, great views, lots of space...

The farmhouse sits on forty acres of pasture and forest. This is the perfect getaway for those looking to relax or recharge away from the city... There are 8 bedrooms with a total of 9 full-size beds. The house is a true country house, loved and beautifully aged like an old pair of Levi's. Outside is a massive backyard with a with a great view overlooking a valley, a fire pit, and a beautifully lit outdoor dining area. Both a gas grill and a charcoal grill available for guests to enjoy.

Things to explore:

During the summer months a lovely farm-stand sets up across the street from the property making it easy to get locally sourced produce and goods for your feasts.

The area has some great flea markets, antique spots, farms, and swimming holes. If you'd like to wander and enjoy the outdoors there are numerous trails and sights to see including Kaaterskill Falls, Vroman's Nose, Howe Caverns, and Indian Head mountain. Should you need advice on area activities there is a three-ring book at the farmhouse filled with suggestions and directions.

The rest of the property is mainly forest and can make for a good adventure. Outdoorsy types will enjoy the beautiful wildlife around the tiny creek in the woods beyond the back yard. There is also a marked path to the beaver pond where you can check out the landscaping work created by the beavers.

Most people get cell service here at the farm. Our high speed internet wifi will also keep you easily connected.

Girls' Weekend in the Catskills

  • 4 of 5

A bunch of NY-based girlfriends and I went up to the house for a long weekend the celebrate the 5-Year anniversary of our bookclub, Babes on Books. We had an AWESOME time. The house is great- super quirky and funky filled with all sorts of weird and fun flea market, Americana finds and it was lovely to relax on the property. They have a great outdoor space with a fire pit, grills, a big deck with a huge dining table perfect for having meals outside and enjoying the beautiful view of green earth all around. Taylor was an awesome hostess- super responsive and helpful and she even left us a really sweet welcome note and a bottle of wine! It was great- perfect for disconnecting and relaxing and breathing fresh air. The house isn't too far from great hiking at the Kaaterskill Falls, so we spent the day hiking the Rail Trail and then eating life-changing donuts at Twin Peaks in nearby Tannersville. It was a lovely weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Rented the Farmhouse with several friends (and kids / babies) for a weekend away and it was incredible. Clean, big kitchen, loads of outdoor spots for the kids to explore, quiet and beautiful inside and out. None of us wanted the weekend to end.

Wonderful Home Wonderful Owners

  • 5 of 5

Just a few of us, the girls from college, wanted to get together to reconnect and relax. We settled on Taylor's charming and historic farmhouse. From the beginning we were offered total transparency - the owners asked us if we'd like to see the rental agreement before we confirmed - which we appreciated, and everything was all laid out and very simple to understand. When we arrived we were awestruck by the beauty of the house and surroundings. I stayed in the downstairs bedroom and the rest of the girls stayed upstairs. In the morning we made big breakfasts and sat on the porch and talked. We watched the view, said hello to deer, and enjoyed all the area has to offer. You'll love your stay here, we did. And we'll be back for sure!
