Stunning modern studio in the heart of Shoreditch!

Property type apartment
Minimum Stay 3 nights

Overview

About the property

Studio with separate kitchen, modern bathroom and huge waterfall shower.

We welcome you with open arms into what we believe is the most exciting and diverse neighbourhood in London. Expect the unexpected here in Shoreditch - sample some of the best food, exquisite coffee and crafty cocktails, shop in some of the coolest boutiques, stroll down Brick Lane and discover the vintage stores nestled amongst the contemporary designer shops, and marvel at the incredible street art displayed all over the area. Right beside our apartment you'll find one of the most impressive works of art... but you'll have to come and visit to see for yourself!

We like to make guests aware that as the property is in the middle of a very vibrant busy London neighbourhood there can be noise at night from people enjoying the area, with Thursday - Saturday night being the noisiest. We have lived in the apartment upstairs for over 5 years and are surrounded by many other residential apartments so by no means is the noise out of control but if you're looking for a quiet weekend away then we recommend staying in a different area of London.

The apartment is a lovely little home away from home. We always have the bed made with fresh towels rolled and ready for your arrival as well as a selection of teas and coffee and if you would like some milk too please let us know!

The apartment is a self contained unit with it's own entry door on the ground floor. The bed is a double bed (140cm x 201cm) which sleeps two people and we have a little table with two chairs for dining or to work from. In the fully operational kitchen you will find a four plate cook top, an oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer and pots and pans should you wish to cook (although that's doubtful given all the incredible food on offer!)

There is an iron and ironing board and a washer/dryer for your clothes. We have also supplied a small clothes line should you prefer to hang wet laundry.

The bathroom has a huge waterfall shower which also has a hand held shower head, along with toilet, basin and hairdryer for your use.

We have industrial strength heating for those colder nights and we have fast internet.

Unfortunately, we do not have extra beds for children or babies and pets are not allowed.

There are buses nearby that go in every direction and both Liverpool Street station (a huge station with trains and tube lines in all directions) and Old Street tube are just a ten minute walk away.

There is also the Overground which is a two minute walk away and of course walking around this area is a pleasure in itself.

PLEASE NOTE: We only rent the apartment to people who have completed their HomeAway profiles and have a profile picture.

The coolest is place in London

You are in for a treat! Shoreditch is a great place to be in London and this apartment is right in the heart of the action. In every direction you will find incredible bars, cafes, clothing stores and art, the only hard part will be trying to see it all. Boxpark is just around the corner with great clothing stores and food on offer, Brick Lane is a five minute walk away with even more food to sample as well as funky vintage stores and cool new clothing shops. Shoreditch High street is packed with incredible restaurants and the Ace Hotel is just around the corner where you can lounge in the chic hotel lobby bar enjoying a cocktail or two.

If you love a beer garden The Crown and Shuttle is down the high street or for a fantastic roof top experience with cocktails and great food, The Boundary is a two minute walk away.

Redchurch, Rivington, Great Eastern streets and Curtain road all offer fun and fabulous entertainment, stores, food and street art.

For a fabulous delicatessen experience you can visit Albion (delicious bread baked daily) or The Grocer on Shoreditch High Street sells organic produce and health foods.

Tesco is just one minute walk away for all your grocery needs too.

There is so much incredible food in the area you are spoilt for choice - delicious Vietnamese, cool Mexican places, American style diners (Meat Mission is a must), and amazing pizza - try Pizza East for a true East London experience. And that's just to start - there are cool cafes everywhere and a great collection of clothing stores to enjoy too.

There are many beautiful and unusual gift stores like 'Present' and SCP plus an endless array of street art - you are literally surrounded by it with guided tours happening daily.

Upon arrival you will be given a book with information on the best places to visit while you're here and we're always on hand to help.

Guests will have access to the entire apartment and everything on offer inside, with complete privacy. We love welcoming you to the apartment and introducing you to all Shoreditch has to offer so we will endeavour to greet you in person upon arrival. Usually we will be present during your stay in the apartment upstairs and are on hand to help with anything you need.

Getting around

Liverpool street station is a ten minute walk straight down the high street and Old Street station is a ten minute walk away along Old Street.

Shoreditch High Street has many buses, plus you have Shoreditch High Street overground which is a two minute walk around the corner.

For those who like long walks there's a lot to discover and if you love beautiful scenery you can even run to Tower Bridge and along the River Thames... magic!

FAQ's

Here are some FAQ's and answers and of course we are happy to answer any other questions you might have!

Q - Is the area safe?

A - Yes, it's a very busy area so there are always people around.

Q - Is it noisy?

A - On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights it is noisy - you are in the heart of Shoreditch and this is where everyone comes to experience the London nightlife! The other nights aren't as noisy in general - however we definitely recommend having ear plugs on hand. Summer is noisier than the winter.

Q - What time is check in?

A - 3pm.

Q - Can I check in early?

A - Provided there has been ample time to clean the apartment, yes. This can only be confirmed the day before arrival.

Q - Can I drop my bags there early?

A - No, but 'Left Luggage' is a great company found at many stations across London, including Liverpool St terminal 10.

Q - What time is check out?

A - 10:00 am

Q - Can I check out late?

A - Possibly, however this can only be confirmed the day before check out, on request.

Q- Can I leave the suitcases upon check out?

A - No, but 'Left Luggage' is a great company found at many stations across London, including Liverpool St terminal 10.

Q - Do I have the whole apartment?

A - Yes it's all yours!

Q - Do you provide adaptors, hair dryers and an iron?

A - You will have an iron and ironing board and a hair dryer. We do not have adapters.

Q - Where are you then?

A - We live in the apartment above.

Q - Do we share a common entrance?

A - We both enter through the main front door but then you have another private front door (with it's own lock) that leads into your apartment.

Q - Will I see you?

A - In most cases we will greet you upon arrival and be on hand if you need any help.

Q- Are you situated near the city?

A- Yes! We are situated in Zone 1 which is right near the centre of the city - the Gherkin building is just down the street! Many tourists think of Covent Garden & SOHO & Oxford street as the city centre, however that is called the West End. For the West End you will have to catch a tube which will take 15 mins from Liverpool street station or take the bus and enjoy the view from the top of a red double decker bus!

Q - What is the closest tube?

A - Liverpool street is just a ten minute walk down the street and it's one of London's main stations with both tube and train connections taking you anywhere you want to go. Old Street tube is a ten minute walk in the other direction and can take you to Islington or Kings Cross St Pancras which is another huge central London transport hub. If you prefer to take the bus to the tube you can do so too... there are buses everywhere!

House rules

Guests are welcome to enjoy the space, however we request our visitors keep noise to a minimum after 10pm.

Please Note: Our bedroom is located above your lounge room, so you will hear our footsteps. This mainly occurs in the morning and just before bed, but can also occur during the day. We try to be quiet but the boards creek!

We request guests do not smoke inside the apartment and pets are not allowed.

About Chrissy and Rupert

We are a fun couple who love travelling, music and coffee. We have used HomeAway many times for our random journeys all over the globe and we're excited to now be hosts.

We have been living in Shoreditch since 2012 and it seems like there's a new cafe, restaurant, bar and piece of street art popping up every day. It's a great place to live and we love sharing the wonders of this area with visitors to London.

Our aim is to provide a comfortable space and an enjoyable experience for our guests. We value the art of holidaying, so we want to ensure everyone who stays in the apartment has a fantastic time and has the opportunity to really delve into all the rich and diverse aspects of Shoreditch.

We are Australian's living in London (how unusual!), Rupert works is a Masters student and consultant and I am an events host and singer. Most importantly, Rupert is really tall and I'm rather short.

Great location, great hosts!

  • 5 of 5

The place is adorable, and the location in Shoreditch can't be beat! It was perfect for us, and Rupert and Chrissy were great with any and all information we needed about getting there, bars and restaurants, even getting back to the airport. Couldn't have asked for more. Perfect!

Cute apartment in the heart of a great fun neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

Highly recommend staying here! We loved our stay at Rupert and Chrissy's apartment in Shoreditch. The location is in a really cool neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and bars within walking distance (not to mention the very best coffee shop, Cream). It's not in the tourist areas which is nice, but still walkable to those areas (like Big Ben). The apartment is comfortable with a really nice shower and a little kitchen in case you want to cook anything. Rupert and Chrissy were great hosts and provide a welcome book with plenty of info on the area, how to get around, amenities in the apartment, etc. There is some street noise at night -- it didn't bother us at all, but earplugs could be useful if you're a light sleeper. Overall, a fantastic place to stay in London!

Great location from which to explore London

  • 4 of 5

Very comfortable studio apartment with everything we needed. Lots of good restaurants & stores nearby. Since the area is active, there was a bit of noise that may be bothersome for some people.

Rupert & Chrissy were great hosts during our stay. Thanks for everything!
