About Paul and Oona Connell
We live and work locally and have 3 grown up children. Lower Bosulval Farm was our family home until recently and we still manage the land around the house, where we have planted over 10,000 native deciduous trees. Paul designed and built the house in 2007 using low allergy natural materials.
Why Paul and Oona Connell chose Madron
In the middle of the West Penwith Peninsula, halfway between St Ives and Penzance, the house is approached off a rural lane, up a private quarter mile track. The house sits secluded in it's own peaceful environment and has lots of very individual features both inside and out. All the living spaces and bedrooms are very spacious with rural views.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Standing on the verandah all you can see are fields, trees and the sea, not a house in sight!

Lovely open and spacious living space suitable for large groups
Well positioned accommodation close to all main attractions and beaches that west Cornwall has to offer. House is remote and privately located meaning that you feel completely at rest after a days adventure. We met the owners on arrival who were happy to show us around and share their story of the property and surrounding land. Paul was also on hand to sort any problems arising.
Definitely recommend this property for any large groups and those happy to drive a short distance to get to the wonderful beaches in the area.
Richard, his family and friends were model guests who I enjoyed meeting when they arrived. They really appreciated the house and left it very tidy. They would be most welcome to visit again.

Stayed august 18 as a extended family of 11 people aged 4 to 64!
Great house to rent and explore cornwall. Great location and easy to access St Ives and Penzance .
Large house with lots of room both inside and out for the kids to play and run around.
Would definitely recommend this Home and would definitely stay again.
100 Percent spot on
Couldn’t get any better for location, beauty,
peace and quiet whilst still being close enough for all amenities. 10/10
It is always a pleasure to have guests who appreciate the house and leave it tidy, having had a good week.
Peace and quiet!
Peaceful! Close to Penzance and St Ives but expect your car to get dirty. A great house!
We enjoyed meeting Darren and his family when they arrived, they were very enthusiastic about the house and left it very tidy when they departed. I hope they book with us again.
Peaceful and with plenty of space indoors and out.
The house is modern and comfortable, well equipped and easy to be in. There is space to spread out and to be together; the Aga keeps the house warm and is easy to use. We had plenty of hot water and only wish the weather had been a little kinder to enjoy the garden!
Excellent property in Superb Location
We had great fun centred around this excellent property. It is in a very quiet and secluded location, but with only short trips to both North and South coasts.
There was plenty of space for 4 couples and 3 children. Everything is in good working order and the toys and games provided were excellent for the kids.
You must visit St Ives on the train.
We would certainly come again.
The West Penwith Peninsula is surrounded by stunning beaches and coastal walks, all within easy reach of the house. From the front door there are lots of rural and moorland walks. The whole area is covered with ancient monuments, burial sites and courtyard houses. Exceptionally low light pollution for stargazing, and very quiet surroundings.
