Lovely peaceful retreat

  • 4 of 5

Very well equipped location. Beautiful surroundings and very peaceful. The help and support from emma next door was outstanding. The beds were comfy.

Minor areas for improvement - some minor maintenance work needed for example on the taps which were a bit temperamental. Games need a bit of a revamp. Also may be worth mentioning how rural the access is - not sure how I would have felt driving there in poor weather - depends on what car you have.

Owner's Response: Dear Julia We are delighted you and your family had a lovely stay and we have passed on your thanks to Emma, our amazing hostesses. Thank you for your feedback as we always want to improve our guests experience. The cottage is an old, quaint property so as much as we keep on top of things they can be a little temperamental so we will take a look at the taps again. We will also check out the games, they are not that old but pieces can go missing by accident. The games are traditional so they appeal to guests of all ages but we need to make sure the dog and the car are still in the monopoly set :) The cottage location is very rural and we advise all our guests in winter about access, when we had the snow Matt & Emma ran shuttles in their truck to make sure all guests got safely in and out but we definitely haven't had to worry about bad weather the last fews months. We look forward to welcoming you again to Croft Meadows Farm.

Perfect cottage for family get-together

  • 5 of 5

We chose this cottage to get together with family for my husband's birthday (3 couples, 2 children aged six and four, a 9-month old baby, and a dog. The cottage was spacious and very well equipped (with everything from bowls for the dog to nappies and plenty of toys for the children). Our bed was extremely comfortable, and the three bathrooms were perfect. It is also extremely quiet (except for the dawn chorus which is wonderful).

We were very lucky with the weather and had some lovely walks close by. Rudyard Reservoir is amazing, with excellent easy walking for all ages and a lovely little train.

But the best part of this holiday were Emma and Matt next door. Nothing was too much trouble, and whatever we needed, they made magically appear. Our boys were even invited to little Freddy's 4th birthday party. Thank you so much. This place is highly recommended!

Stunning cottage

  • 5 of 5

We loved our time at Croft Measows. The cottage was in a perfect location, you do need to take care on the little track, I would suggest it’s not recommended for lower chassis cars.

The cottage was fully equipped with everything you could ever need. It felt so homely and was very warm - all beds were really comfortable and the place was so clean - the wet room was a blessing when weather wasn’t great.

Emma and Matt were amazing. So helpful and so accommodating to any requests I had, thank you.

Would recommend this beautiful place. Perfect getaway for my family ... we had a truly beautiful time and we’ve come away with so many lovely memories.... thanks to the owners for a memorable holiday.

We would love to return in the near future.

Karen.

Easter/Birthday Break

  • 5 of 5

Lovely cottage in lovely surroundings. We had a lovely break for Easter and our Mum's birthday. We went to Rudyard Lake and walked to Leek! Lovely town with a great market! We also did the little steam railway! The dogs loved it. We also went to Meerbrook to the Lazy Trout for Sunday/birthday lunch which was lovely and then we went round the reservoir! Emma was very helpful before and during the stay. Would definitely recommend this cottage. Thank you for being such good hosts!

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, the people who run it went over and above, thoroughly recommen

  • 5 of 5

Croft Meadows is a fabulous cottage. It is spacious, clean and has all modern facilities but with a traditional feel to it. It is perfect for a family break or group get away.

The people who run the cottage are amazing and so helpful- I was unable to travel to the cottage at the same time as my partner and 3 children due to a family emergency. Emma ( who runs the cottage) helped my partner unpack, settle in, she made tea for my children and put them to bed!! We were overwhelmed with how helpful she was.

The cottage has games, dvds, towels, bedding- everything you need. Originally we had planned some days out but the cottage was so lovely we just chilled out there for 4 days!

Thank you for a great stay.
