This cottage is a converted granite barn which sits in the courtyard of our farm house, in the idyllic hamlet of Bollowal. It is near the town of St Just, which has lovely shops & pubs only 10 minutes walk away. It is on the foot path to the Southwest Coast Path, along the spectacular coastline of the Atlantic Ocean. The cottage has some views of the sea. It has recently been renovated and is now a lovely space to relax in. It is ideally suited for people who love the outdoors, walking, cycling, etc.

About Property Manager
The owners (Esther and Tony) live next door, and look forward to welcoming you. Esther is an environmental economist and works on projects about the natural environment and the economy. She speaks several languages: fluent English, Dutch, German, and reasonable Spanish and some French, and would be more than happy to tell you more about the landscape, the history and the environment in which they live. Tony and Esther love the outdoors (as much as you probably do), particularly walking, cycling, sailing and a swim in the sea at one of the nearby bathing spots.
Why Property Manager chose Saint Just
It is ideally located for walking the Southwest Coast Path, and the local footpaths around St Just. The area is so beautiful, its nature, the views, the atmosphere, the light - ever changing. There is much to explore around here: the landscape, the flora and fauna, hidden coves, the moors, culture, history, archaeology, myths and stories about the people who have inhabited this extraordinary place. St Just is an authentic community, where you can buy all your local produces, have a proper pint in a traditional pub - you'd never want to leave...

Tranquil & lovely
we had a great 10 day stay at Sunset cottage. it's a fantastic location for all of South West Cornwall with easy access across the region. The cottage itself is well kept, exceptionally clean and has everything you need to make a great holiday. Esther & Tony were great hosts, explaining everything we needed to know and keeping us up to date with what was happening locally. An excellent place to stay!
Thank you John - yes, it is a great location to explore the far west.
All the best, Esther
Great Holiday in Cornwall
We stayed in Sunset Cottage, Bollowal for eight days and we all had a wonderful time. The weather was absolutely fabulous. Our accommodation was perfect for us and we had everything in the cottage that we could possible need. Esther and Tony are perfect hosts and looked after us very well. They are near if you need anything but we still had great privacy which suited out needs for this holiday. We could not recommend the area, accommodation enough and we will certainly recommend the cottage, and Bollowal to all our friends. Thanking them both again for a wonderful holiday in a very beautiful area.
Thank you John for your review - great to hear you had such a good time.
Best wishes, Esther
Great cottage and gorgeous location!
Sunset Cottage is well equipped and great accommodation for a family of four. We really enjoyed our holiday there and the owners were very welcoming.
Thanks Judith, great to hear you had such a good time. Best wishes, Esther
We loved our stay at Sunset Cottage! Esther and Tony are wonderful friendly hosts, they live next door but have a light touch, helping out if needed but otherwise respecting your privacy. We know and love this atmospheric area but always wanted to stay nearer the coast itself - this place is right by the SW Coastal path, so you can walk to Cape Cornwall from the property, or in the other direction to Sennen (a longer walk). We also walked to Kenidjack and Botallack, and to Porth Nanven beach with its beautiful 'dinosaur egg' rocks. We also had easy access by car to all the sights around Pendeen, Penzance, Marazion, Sennen Cove, St Ives, etc. Nowhere is that far in this part of Cornwall, even Eden is only 1.5 hours away. The cottage itself is aptly named, the sun does go down right in front although the view is a little obscured by the hamlet, we had relaxing evening drinks in the garden. The Garden is a small courtyard at the front, overlooked by Esther's kitchen, so if complete privacy is what you're looking for, or kids' ball games, this isn't the place for you. Our children loved the tiny bedroom which has room only for the very comfy bunk beds. Our room was much more spacious, and could probably have accommodated a kingsize rather than a double bed. The cottage has been carefully thought out and was well appointed, tastefully decorated and clean. Nice little extras -maps, books, games.. The kitchen has all you need to cook and the larder cupboards have supplies of essentials like oil, seasonings, tea, coffee, washing up liquid. I have never stayed in a property that has left proper ground coffee and a cafetiere for guests! The kitchen is compact, with a breakfast bar seating four comfortably. If we hadn't eaten out some days, however, we would have started to feel the need of a dining table. The living room is also very compact, and could do with a 4th comfy seat perhaps, but we felt very cosy with the stove burning - we had some very cold nights for April, which the storage heaters struggled to compensate for. If the weather had been much worse and we weren't able to go out each day, I think the children may have begun to notice the lack of space. These are not criticisms, we loved it, but honest feedback to help families to choose this cottage knowing it's right for them. The location alone sold it to us but we were delighted with the property and the welcome and would love to stay at Bollowal again. Thank you Esther and Tony!
Thank you for taking the time to provide detailed feedback (all spot on), helping others who may consider a stay at Sunset Cottage. Glad you enjoyed it!

We had a lovely week at Sunset Cottage!
A week in Cornwall in lovely weather. We had walks along the coast path With fantastic views, spectacular sunsets at Cape Cornwall, a swim in Priest's Cove, and good meals in St.Just. And Sunset Cottage had everything we needed. It was a charming cottage, well equipped, and Esther and Tony were lovely hosts. The second bedroom was a bit small, but otherwise everything was fine. We had walking distance into St Just, and we met friendly locals everywhere. We take a lot of good memories With us back to Norway. Per Willy W and family
It was lovely to meet you and your family, and it was great to see you all having such a good time. Thank you for staying with us (and for the bar of chocolate!)

Very nice property in quiet area
Our family (2 adults, 2 children aged 7 and 4) stayed for a week in late October. The cottage is well equipped, very nicely decorated, clean, and we found it was a very relaxing place to stay (once the children had gone to bed). St Just provided pretty much everything we needed to feed ourselves for the week, and if required it's only a few minutes drive from Penzance. The cottage itself is far away enough from town to feel quite quiet and secluded. As you'd guess, there are plenty of beaches and things to do, all within manageable distances. The owners were amazingly friendly and approachable. All in all, we were very happy!
Thank you - glad you had a lovely holiday.

Please note that the second bedroom has bunk beds (one bed above the other), which is fun for children who are at a certain age, and are able to climb to the top bed.
