About Kathy Willey-Coogan

We LOVE St. Pete!!!! It's such a wonderful city, rich with culture, music, art and nature all that and beautiful weather too! You can't ask for more than St. Pete has to offer. We have lived in the area for over 20 years and have traveled to many great destinations however there's no place on earth we have enjoyed more than St. Petersburg Florida. We are truely blessed to live and work in this amazing area. Being from northern states ourselves originally (Michigan & New Jersey) we know how long and cold winter can be up north. This little bungalow is where we want to retire someday. Unfortunately, it's too soon for us to be able to kick our feet up. That's why we want to share our little corner of heaven, we figure someone may as well enjoy it until we are able to.

Why Kathy Willey-Coogan chose St Petersburg

When my husband and daughter and I walked in the door we instantly fell in love with this house. The original wood floors from 1910 and French doors leading out to a covered front porch that sits on one of St Pete's quaint brick streets. It was just perfect! We very much wanted a place close enough to downtown to ride our bikes but also close enough to walk to Cresent Lake, Starbucks, Panera, Carrabas, Outback, and we have so much fun at Practically Picasso...we never imagined we could have it all and a huge back yard as well! This place was more than we were dreaming of so we couldn't pass it up, even though we can't live there yet- it's already home. We are happy to be able to share. :)

What makes this house unique

The large backyard in a location this close to town is a very unique find. We love being able to invite everyone to park in the driveway and walk or bike to town during events or concerts. Parking downtown is especially difficult to find and can get expensive. We have this lovely oasis where friends and family can park, go downtown for events and then relax in the backyard and have a cookout. There is ALWAYS something fun going on downtown the tough part is choosing what to attend.

Couldn't Have Been Better!

  • 5 of 5

A friend and I traveled to Florida for a biking/beaches week, and our stay at this home couldn't have been better. The bedrooms were spacious, having 2 bathrooms, both with showers, was perfect after hot days outside, and having a washer/dryer allowed us to do some laundry during the week. The patio off the back entrance was great for drinking coffee/tea and planning our day, and the large kitchen allowed us to make meals when we were too tired to venture back out. It is very close to downtown St. Petersburg, so we could walk or bike to shops and restaurants, as well. We loved our week and staying here was the icing on the (vacation) cake! The owner gave us all the information we needed, and even gave us tickets to an outdoor performance of the musical "Hairspray!" We would absolutely stay here again!

The house was absolutely wonderful. Very well decorated with all the modern conveniences and more. Well stocked with all the essential supplies. Kitchen, bathrooms and laundry room equipped with top of the line appliances/fixtures. Bedrooms were very comfortable. Easy to operate A/C, TV and WiFi. Great backyard with large deck and BBQ grill. The home owner was very friendly and accommodating with any questions we had, and kindly forwarded some phone messages from friends. The rear off street parking is a tremendous bonus. The historic Uptown neighborhood is even better than when we lived there in 2009, and is within walking distance to a vibrant downtown. Would certainly recommend the home to visitors and would most definitely rent the home again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!!

Comfortable Stay in a Convenient Location

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful time for three weeks staying here in St. Petersburg. This property is in a

convenient location to explore the downtown area with museums, restaurants, and a local loop to get around easily. Hope to visit here again!

Great Family Vacation Home

  • 5 of 5

My family of 5 (kids 10, 7, 7) went for 6 days to St Pete. This house is centrally located so you can drive a quick 5 mins to the downtown bay area or 15 mins to Treasure Island or St Pete Beach. I went for a morning run from the house to Straub Park which was a hot spot for runners, biking, fishing etc Plenty of restaurant choices nearby and a Publix downtown. Even though it's an older house and the outside isn't "exciting" looking she has done a great job with the inside of the house. Very updated and spacious enough for a week's vacation. Having a fenced in backyard was nice with kids. My only "complaint" is be aware the houses are very close together but this coming from someone who lives in a small resort town in the mountains with big yards so if you're used to city life it won't bother you ;) Kathy was more than helpful and always answered our emails promptly. We were very happy with our stay here and our wonderful time in St Pete
