About Jeremy & Stacy Merrill
Jeremy and I (Stacy), both grew up in the area. Although we went to the same school, we didn't get to know each other until a few years later. We have been married since 2003 and have two boys. We enjoy our life in the country and couldn't think of a better place to raise our family.
Why Jeremy & Stacy Merrill chose Fort Atkinson
This log cabin has a lot of meaning to our family. Jeremy's Dad Tim, took three years to build this cabin (1978-1981). This is the house that Jeremy's parents raised him and his brother in. It wasn't until recently that we found ourselves with an empty log cabin and decided to share it's beauty and serenity with others. We also live out on the property, which is about 140 acres, although our two houses are spread far enough apart that you cannot see one from the other. If you have any questions, feel free to email or call us at (563) 380-8762.

Breathtaking and peaceful
We fell in love with your cabin. I’ve been researching the whole way home trying to find something like this to own. Great quiet location and absolutely beautiful inside. We really enjoyed the comfy bed in the loft and our children liked their own space on the main floor. Lots of space to play and relax. You have a real gem! Thank you for sharing your home with us. We look forward to visiting again.
Awesome. Beautifully appointed.
Impressed! Great attention to detail. Absolutely lovely. Can’t wait to enjoy it again.
Has everything you might need.
Fireplace is wonderful and love the decor. The king bed upstairs is so comfy!!!
Beautiful and very clean!
Amazing place to stay, booked for next March and plan on making this a yearly tradition!
Quiet. Not even the faint sound of cars in the distance. This was true quiet. Hear birds quiet. Listen to leaves in the wind quiet.
And the house was gorgeous. Clean. Super comfy bedding. Big tv with cozy seating. Lovely fireplace. Amazing windows and views.
We will be back. Loved it.
Beautiful, cozy, clean cabin
What a perfect, cozy cabin. The cabin itself is stunning. The three bedrooms were spacious and comfy. We spent our mornings drinking the fresh, local coffee provided and sitting by the fireplace. The kitchen was well stocked with any utensils, dishes, and pans necessary. The cabin was also stocked with board games and DVDs. Everything was perfectly clean. Huge deck with a great view and an outdoor fire pit. Half hours drive to Decorah for dining, shopping, or wineries/breweries. Great for a weekend getaway in Iowa!
The bluff country of Northeast Iowa has a wonderful mix of opportunities available including fishing, kayaking, bike trails, shopping and so much more.
