This home has been in our family for over 25 years. We have had many family gatherings here with so many fun memories. We are from the Twin Cities and enjoy our cabin home to come and relax and have fun. It's the perfect drive with only a little over an hour but yet you feel as though you're farther away. We want your family and friends to have the fun memories we all have.
Amy Nash purchased this house in 1987
Our parents owned this home and we loved it so much and wanted to keep it in our family. With so many fun times and memories we all shared, we wanted other families to experience what we did throughout the years.
We love the property due to its close proximity to the water and beautiful scenery including watching the loons and eagles and very friendly neighbors, The home has all the comforts needed to enjoy a comfortable stay with plenty of room
This rental was exactly what I was looking for! The sunsets are just incredible and Amy has the cabin stocked for anything you can imagine. We'll definitely be going back!
My wife and I were part of a group of six friends staying here for 2 nights, and our primary activity was biking on the nearby Willard Munger trail. We really enjoyed being on the lake, which featured a couple of lovely sunsets as we unwound after riding. A couple of us even tried out the water, which was brisk (mid-September) and clean, undoubtedly my final lake swim of the year! We found everything we needed to cook one of our dinners and all of our breakfasts. Everything worked out fine, no complaints. Sleeping arrangements for three couples are chopped up here but we knew that going in and it was not a big deal for a couple of nights. The layout is probably more suited to a single family with kids. One small suggestion would be more lighting in the back bedroom with the twin beds--it's pretty dark in there. The gas fireplace felt good as the nights were starting to get chilly. Overall: clean, cozy, everything working, and easy access to a beautiful lake, with loons and herons and kingfishers. Judging from the fishing map on the fridge, looks good for anglers. If you go to bike, you can ride out the door, turn left on Sand Lake Rd and be at the trail in a mile or so. We didn't figure that out until we'd already transported our bikes by car twice to the trailhead in Moose Lake. Owners might want to offer those directions in more detail. Thanks for sharing your family cabin!
This is a great place to relax and enjoy lake living, the home sits only feet away from the lake so you get incredible sunsets and leave the windows open so you can listen to the waves. Amy has the place very well stocked so all you have to bring is the food, which is available in town just a few miles away. It was just my wife and I and our two smaller dogs but there are rooms for several more if desired. They even have a stock of board games there if the weather turns bad, nice touch. Due to the rare recent storms that had occurred prior to our arrival, the water level of the lake had rose, which had caused the swim platform to shift over during our stay, I called Amy one evening to see if it could be moved a bit and the very next morning her husband and a friend drove up and moved it out of the way so we could use our boat with no trouble docking, Amy and her extended family were all very friendly and helpful any time we had a question . Great place , great people , great communication, would recommend this home for anybody wanting a stress free vacation.
My sister and I ran the Grandmas Marathon and Amy's house was such a perfect place to be with the family! it was more beautiful than the pictures describe. Moose lake is gorgeous and its awesome to have a canoe to use, we really enjoyed it. and the sunsets and campfires were awesome. Amy is such a gracious host and so kind. we ordered pizza Saturday night and it was delicious and we went to church in Moose lake on Sunday and out to eat in down. We loved every minute :) thank you so much Amy and family ! also our Australian Shepard loved swimming in the lake.
Fantastic weekend spent in an amazing spot! The lake was gorgeous with great fishing and the cabin reminded me so much of my childhood home, I felt like a kid again! It was so quiet and comfortable too! There was everything we could've needed and the bowling alley was a blast for a first time bowling session with our 4-year old! Can't wait to stay here again!
I love that this cabin is so easy to get to. A straight shot up 35 and your there. The cabin was great. Clean, comfortable and almost on top of the lake! The owners are the best! A cool shaded deck to sit on and watch the lake activity and an awesome dock to hang out on. The lake is super clean and clear. The beach and shallows are a little rocky but generally good for kids. The town of Moose Lake has everything you need plus some great places to eat. End the evening with a bon fire and then migrate to the screen porch for some cards and drinks. Comfy beds too! We will definitely be back.
Access to miles and miles of groomed snowmobile trails including Munger and SOO line.
