About Sarah E
My family and I bought this property because we love Barbon, Kirkby Lonsdale and the surrounding areas and one day hope to live there! But in the meantime we wanted other people to enjoy it too. We are Cumbrian born and bred so feel free to ask any questions you might have about the area and we will try to help! Thanks - Sarah x

Why Sarah E chose Carnforth
Filled with charming original features yet fully modernised, Hilltop is in such a superb location. Barbon village is a real gem! The Barbon Inn and the Churchmouse Cafe & Deli are both fantastic establishments and there is so much to do without even getting in the car.
What makes this Cottage unique
Beautifully presented (even if we do say so ourself) yet unstuffy, perfect for couples or families alike. Walkers, ramblers, cyclists, foodies and everyone in between will enjoy this cottage and the local area.

Lovely cosy cottage in great location
The cottage was very well presented, peaceful and ideally located for the our walks and visits. All that we had hoped for.
Although originally planned with our two daughters, in the end, the two of us enjoyed a beautiful stay of about two weeks alone. Barbon is a small village situated at the outskirts of the beautiful Yorkshire dales, but has beautiful parts in itself, including trails second to none in the national park itself. Perfect place to explore the dales (every dale is different), the (overcrowded) Lake District area or the totally undervalued Furness Peninsula. Hadrian`s wall is about one and a half hours away, York witjh ist minster a bit longer, about two hours plus.
The house itself is very cozy, especially its two sleeping roooms. The living room could afford an additional table /(there is none). Totally clean !
In a summer like this one, it becomes obvious, that the small garden needs some kind of reshaping and renewing; some additional garden chairs would be highly appreciated.
If you feel like a kitchen chief, some really usuable pans and cooking pots would be welcome (all the electical things like oven and so on are working fine). Otherwise you will have to rely on the very traditional English kitchen in the pub nearby,
Lovely Holiday !
One of the most amazing cottages we have stayed in
I can not stress enough how great this cottage and the location it is in is .
It is in a charming little village with a proper old stile pub which serves some of the best pub/restaurant food I have eaten, and only couple of minutes walk back after a pint or two.
The cottage itself is total modern inside with that country cottage feel and has every conservable thing you would need in it and some of the most comfy beds we have slept in.
The cottage was supper clean and immaculate inside with lovely kept garden to have a drink in after a hard days sight seeing.
Sarah E could not have been more helpful throughout and we would have no hesitation staying there again ,I thoroughly enjoyable stay
Cosy home away from home
We stayed in the cottage for three nights, mainly to attend a wedding in Barbon but made a weekend of it because it was also our own Anniversary. The cottage is lovely and was just right for a cosy weekend for the two of us, but with two double bedrooms could easily accommodate four people. Everything's well laid out and nicely decorated and the interior retains many original features. I'd recommend without hesitation, particularly for anyone wanting a base from which to explore the Lake District and/or the Yorkshire Dales. The local pub, the Barbon Inn, is well worth a visit, too - good beer, good food and welcoming service.
Beautiful property and ideal location for exploring the West side of the dales. The house has been really well maintained, good space for four adults, very comfortable lounge and the bonus of a short walk to the pub. A great stay.
Barbon is a fantastic village, close to the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks. Just over three miles from Kirkby Lonsdale and ideally placed for enjoying Sedbergh, Ingleton, The Lakes, Kendal, The Lune Valley and much much more. Kirkby Lonsdale is a bustling, vibrant town with an abundance of restaurants and shops, there is also a Booths Supermarket and Post Office. We know the area really well and will try our best to help if you have any questions.
