Welcome to the Mountain! Come and enjoy the beautiful hiking trails and waterfalls in the parks. Yes, swimming under a waterfall is Fun! Afterword, bring your family and friends to the Tree House. Relax and soak in the Hot Tub, or around an evening fire after a great meal in one of the many restaurants here on the mountain, or bring your groceries and cook or grill to your hearts desire.
We are in the woods and privacy is still important for us to give our guests! You might get a four legged visitor if your lucky !
We are pleased to present our second treehouse, The Eagle! We built this house because of the many folks that had families and friends that love to have fun together!
This Tree House is bigger than our first ( The Hummingbird ) and offers: a dedicated bedroom with a Queen bed, a 32 inch TV, DVD player, and reading space. A daybed that converts into a Queen bed in the living room with a gas fireplace, 42 inch TV, DVD and ambiance galore! The last of our beds, is in the loft. The loft offers a round bed ( that we refer to as 'The Nest') and a unique ladder to reach it!
After you park your car in the parking area, follow the zig-zag bridge to the blue door. If you are entering at night, don't worry, the path is well lit with plenty of twinkle lights!
Our 'theme' for The Eagle is ..... Contemporary Retro. As you walk in, you are carried back to the 1950's with vintage metal cabinets that have been updated to reflect a fun, inviting environment. The kitchen has a full sized stove/oven, mid - sized refrigerator, and microwave. It is fully stocked with cookware and dishes for all of your meal needs. Wait until you get ahold of the kitchen island/ table! It is shaped like an aircraft wing!!!
Fly on over to the Living room area, and feel like you are transported to the vibe of the 1960's and 70's! Colorful décor, combined with the beautiful wood walls, make it just funky enough to be fun and tranquil enough to be relaxing.
Now climb up the 'left - right ladder'.... you have to see it to understand it! LOL! and climb into our 'nest'.
The bedroom is decorated with a unique wood wall, and tranquil but fun colors. It also has one of the most comfortable beds that I have found anywhere!
Now for the bathroom..... an ode to contemporary at its best! Beautiful tile leads to a glass and steel vanity with a glass vessel sink, a towel warmer, and the large shower has 6 body jets and a thermostatic rain shower---it lights up and changes color with the temperature of the water!!!!
Relax on the porch in one of our comfy swings, or take a dip in the hot tub on the lower deck. Or, take a walk down the stone path and sit around the fire pit for a while!
We have made sure that there are plenty of 'the little extras' to make your stay extra special! We provide coffee and usually have a snack jar with a few goodies in it! Also, we have extra throw blankets for those cold nights. Bring your tooth brush and your groceries and you will pretty much be set! Seriously, we try to make things easy for our guests!
We hope that you will come see us soon! If you have any questions, please feel free to call us!
University of The South Parents: Make your reservations for those special dates through the year. The Eagle is large enough to give you privacy, but, enjoy the company of your student while your here ! We are only about eleven miles from campus.
We are Andy and Sheila of Monteagle Treehouse Hideaway. We built and opened our first treehouse in 2012. We have truly enjoyed meeting and getting to know our guests. Many are now friends and a lot are like family to us. We decided to build a larger version of a treehouse so we didn't have to turn away the great families that contacted us over the last couple of years. the Eagle is actually a little higher up than our first and has a totally different décor. We look forward to meeting our guests and hope to see ya'll soon!
Sheila purchased this cabin in 2015
The mountain is such a beautiful place to live. We chose this land to build our home and our retreat because of where it's at. We are only three miles to town! But, because we are in the county, we have woods and valley. Neighbors are scattered far apart, so we have the privacy we craved, but, the convenience to town. We are just a short distance to hiking trails and waterfalls, state parks, and fishing. What more could we ask for!
We love the layout of the Eagle! Open living area is big enough to spread out but, designed for friends or family to have some privacy when you want it. The loft is a fun space! Complete with round bed and a 70s feel. Great place to escape with a good book, or nap. We made sure the balcony deck would seat our guests for those evening get together s' and the hot tub is on the lower deck just a few of steps down from the upper. We supply what you need for a carefree stay, just grab your essentials and your ready to come up and have some fun or just chill out from the world for a little while.
My husband and I couldn't be more pleased with our relaxing week away in your lovely treehouse home, The Eagle. Everything about the home is perfect--awesome, funky, yet comfy, decoration, the beautiful twinkle lights that greet you and light the path upon arrival, the swings on the porch, the relaxing hot tub, all the little extra conveniences you provide (coffee, condiments, popcorn). Plus, Sheila, you are a hoot and so helpful when we had questions (sorry about that 3rd knob, lol)! Thanks for everything! We hope to be able to visit your other two treehouses in the future!
We had a lovely stay at this well appointed cabin in the trees. We will return as Sheila and Andy are great hosts.
This was the first trip my wife and I have taken since our honeymoon two years ago. Once we decided the area of the country to which we wanted to travel, my wife had the idea of looking for a tree house and quickly found this one. It was beautiful, quiet, cozy, comfortable, and every other superlative that comes to mind. If you want peace and quiet in nature, this is for you. If you want a different kind of getaway experience, this is for you. If you want wonderful owners who are available to answer any questions and offer helpful tips on unique places to go and things to do, this is for you. (Sheila and Andy are awesome people!) Pictures don't do it justice. Words don't do it justice. Stay here, and I promise you won't regret it. ~ Jim & Carrol, Evansville IN
We spent two peaceful nights in the cabin. Since we were getting our son settled at Sewanee we didn't actually spend a lot of time in the house, or take advantage of many of the amenities, but it was a lovely, quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of campus, and Sheila seems to have equipped it with most everything you'd need. We really enjoyed sitting on the back porch drinking coffee and enjoying the quiet, and we even managed a quick dip in the hot tub, gazing up at the trees. We didn't bring our daughter with us this trip but sent her pictures and she's anxious to try out the cool, round bed up in the loft on another trip! One word of advice to other guests; follow the e-mailed directions to the house rather than relying on GPS. I was using the mapping service on my phone and it told me we still had another half mile to go when we drove past the house! It would be best to get there before dark since it really is out in the country, but the twinkle lights provide a good guide from the road to the house. Since we'll be making regular trips to Sewanee for the next four years we look forward to staying at the Eagle again, and seeing it in different seasons!
We had an amazing time in this adorable treehouse! Loved all the fun touches! The hot tub and swings were a hit with the kids. I appreciated the stash of coffee. Thanks for thinking of everything!
