All of the appliances are new, as well as brand new furniture, a new gourmet kitchen with a roomy snack bar. Fully equipped and ready for your enjoyment. Don Pedro State park is a short walk down the beach. You’ll want to capture the Island’s charm by traveling via golf cart, we rarely use cars here. Golf cart rental is available which is almost new and in excellent condition.

Bring your boat or rent one for the ultimate in Florida lifestyle. Our community dock will accommodate a boat up to 20 feet. Like to fish? Fish right off the dock or try your luck surf fishing or book a charter with one of the local guides for a thrilling day of sport fishing or backwater challenges. Trout, Redfish, Snook, Tarpon and Grouper are just a few of the many species that call our waters home.

Don Pedro Island (Palm Island) is a barrier island and a stones throw from the mainland. You’ll arrive via a short car ferry ride that takes about three minutes. Our island has a terrific resort that offers a casual restaurant, ice cream/deli shop, sundries store and a pirate show for the kids. The island is almost all single family homes so you’ll quickly find it has a pristine 'non-commercial” family feel. There are no large high-rise resorts, beach bars or traffic and noise. If you’re looking for that place in the sun that you can actually hear the wind whistle through the palms - you’ve found your place.

Off island you’ll be close to restaurants, shops, golf courses and world famous Boca Grande as well as other attractions. As we like to say... civilization is close but not too close. Boca Grande offers exclusive shopping, dining and sightseeing. By boat you can reach Cayo Costa Island State Park and Cabbage Key where Jimmy Buffet was inspired to write 'Cheeseburger In Paradise.' Do it all, or do nothing at all, that’s the “island” lifestyle. It’s laid back, always casual (leave your tie at home) and Florida at its best.

About Diane

We've been vacationing on Palm Island for many years and have watched our children grow up on the island. We also own two other homes on the island that are listed for rent on VRBO. Palm Island (aka Don Pedro Island) is one of (if not the last) old Florida locations that has managed to stay small and has not been over-run by huge beach condos and commercial businesses. It's a true paradise found!

Why Diane chose Palm Island

Together with our friends, we own three of the units in our building (there are four units per building). The layouts can't be beat and are incredibly spacious and very well designed. Cruz Del Sur has been very well maintained and has been nicely remodeled. We added a "ship's bunk" under the stairs which is is very popular with adults and children. We love coming to the island and so will you!

What makes this townhome unique

Cruz Del Sur has a great downstairs deck with an outdoor shower that's private enough to use just about whenever you wish. We have Kayaks and beach chairs and the Gulf of Mexico is steps away from your Gulf front home. The community pool (which is rarely used) is right next door. You'll also enjoy sweeping Gulf views from the living room and master bedroom. The upper deck off the master bedroom is a sanctuary on its own and the sunsets are spectacular. The house is fully equipped and very casual. In the evenings, the warm breezes and sky full of stars over the Gulf of Mexico are priceless. There's nothing like staying at a beach front home, it is truly a work of art and your very own front row seat to the best of Florida.

Our townhouse sits directly on the Gulf of Mexico. It is fully equipped and many portions of the home are brand new or have been recently remodeled. It is in excellent condition and always maintained and kept very clean.

Calm peaceful serene

Our suggestion for 418 would be a king size bed in the master br. Very accomodating otherwise. Also another dining option on the island or an upgrade at Rum Bay. Hope to be back!

This was a perfect getaway for my husband and I. Pristine beaches, very few people, and the townhome was wonderful! Everything you could need was there and Diane gave us plenty of information to prepare. Absolutely perfect in every way!!

Just beautiful! What a way to relax...

First impression was fantastic. Lovely, tasteful, and simple decor throughout with lots of blue and white. Nice 2nd floor deck off master bedroom for sunset views. Three tabels for family gaming and dining. One inside, one on screened portch and one beach level. Outside footshower and regular shower and park style grill. Six bottles of lighter fluid and 2 or 3 bags of left over charcol in gear locker. Buckets, shovels, some toys, several inflatables, pool noodles, beach umbrella and chairs as well. Kitchen has most utensils you would need. Salt and pepper and other spices already stocked. Bring extra TP.

I think we turned on the TV once the entire week. Lots of walking and shell collecting. 2 adult boys loved finding shark teeth probably about 200+ during the week. Beautiful sunsets enjoyed by all as well as grilling out. Not much to see or do on the Island, the one restaurant was not good, bland food and the fish was not fresh. Not sure why you would need a golf cart except to go get ice cream or go down and jump off the bridge which seems to be a tradition.

Overall one of the best and most relaxing vacations of my life in this wonderful beach condo. We saw squids, snakes, sting rays, gopher turtles and a boatload of crabs and shells. Everybody wants to come back. LOVED IT!!!!!😎?

Cruz del Sur - a week in paradise!

We had a wonderful and relaxing week staying at Cruz del Sur. The home was beautifully decorated with all of the amenities we needed. We enjoyed the beautiful sunsets each night and being so close to the beach. We have been coming to Palm Island for over 20 years. It was a treat this year to be able to bring our pup. Can't wait to come back next year!

Unspoiled, uncrowded and unbelievable location. It's old Florida at its best. One of the best beaches in the world and certainly one of the best in Florida. World-class Boca Grande is very close and Englewood offers some quaint shopping and local restaurants. It's an old Florida beach town that has managed to stay connected to a slower pace and tropical living.
