Overview

About the property

Cliff top walks, safe beaches, warm spacious home and family garden to enjoy

Please note that our change day is Friday in the Summer months but other days may be possible in the Spring and Autumn.

Treglindon is a much loved family cottage set in the pretty hamlet of Rosecare lying within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is situated only a half-mile off the A39 for easy access and two miles from Crackington Haven by road. The nearest shops and pub are at Wainhouse Corner on the A39 which is a short level fifteen minute walk along the lane.

The cottage is so comfortable that guests often like to have lazy days ‘at home’ snuggled around the wood burning stove or sunbathing in the garden depending on the season. It has been decorated inside to reflect the countryside and coastal environment. Our furnishing aims to provide comfort and includes quality sofas, luxury king size beds with winter/summer duvets, electric blankets and cotton linen. Our ‘home from home’ cottage is fully equipped to assist your self-catering holiday with many appliances to aid cooking, washing and storage of food and drink.

Treglindon sits at 500 feet with stunning panoramic views over open countryside rolling down to the sea and one cannot help be spellbound by the surrounding natural environment. Mid-summer sunsets are awesome. The large garden is both ideal for adults who might like to be lazy enjoying relaxing and soaking up the tranquil scenery in any of the four seating areas, or for families who will enjoy playing in the spacious and secure garden.

Crackington Haven has a delightful relaxed family beach without too many crowds, manned by the RNLI in summer, with two friendly cafés and a pub which is the best place to have a sundowner. From Treglindon the Haven itself can be reached in about an hour by downhill footpaths, or you may like to challenge yourself along the South West Coastal Path with its spectacular scenery. The well-known villages of Boscastle and Tintagel are a short drive away, as is the Victorian seaside town of Bude with its many local beaches and canal. Further afield Clovelly, Padstow, Rock and the Eden Project can be easily reached as can the spectacular National Trust Cornish properties.

Part of the fun of a holiday here, is that there are so many places to explore within easy reach with an attractive and comfortable cottage to return home to.

About David and Jill

As children we both holidayed with our respective parents in various parts of North Cornwall and wanted to share with our own children our love for Cornish beach holidays. We soon introduced this area to our toddlers staying first at Trevigue Farm and then at numerous other locations. This part of North Cornwall has certainly become a family favourite and we were delighted when we bought Treglindon in summer 2014 as our own family retreat. We have already had many enjoyable times with our family and friends. We are delighted to share the cottage with other families to create some happy and memorable moments for them too.

David and Jill purchased this cottage in 2014

Why David and Jill chose Saint Gennys

As soon as we saw the ever changing views from the kitchen and garden we fell in love with Treglindon. Since then we have enjoyed lovingly decorating and furnishing the cottage, making choices to reflect the nearby sea and surroundings. Living in Bath, we get down to Treglindon within 3 hours. Our first stop is often the pub at Crackington Haven where, if we are lucky, we will watch a most glorious sunset. Very quickly we unwind and become truly relaxed. The panoramic views from the cottage continually entertain us as does the varying wildlife. On sunny lazy days or afternoons when we have had enough beach, we come home and enjoy the many seating locations around the garden. A light lunch or BBQ supper is easy to prepare and serve at the picnic table. At the end of the day we all sleep soundly enjoying comfortable beds.

What makes this cottage unique

Only half a mile from the A39 Atlantic Highway giving easy access to North Cornwall beaches and attractions yet located in a quiet and beautiful countryside setting.

Couldn't have asked for a better property.

  • 5 of 5

We returned home on the 4th August after a fabulous week at the cottage! As soon we drove onto the drive we were wowed by the property and how well cared for it was. The garden was fabulous and the views of the countryside were amazing especially from the upstairs bedroom balcony. It was a peaceful place to stay but within easy reach of all amenities. We visited Tintagel, Bude and many other places included Boscastle - a very pretty little village with a very helpful shop owner who had great Gin knowledge.

The cottage itself has everything you need - the kitchen is well equipped, the washer/dryer was a god send for out return journey, the beds were incredibly comfy and the the whole place felt very spacious. It was great to have maps and tourist guides on hand and David and Jill were so lovely with keeping in touch and I knew they would be there if I needed them. Our two daughters (7 and 10) loved the cottage for hide and seek and the garden gave them room to play until their hearts content. I will definitely be wanting to come back to Treglindon for many many reasons. Thank you David and Jill, a wonderful family cottage that felt loved and cared for.

Relaxing and peaceful family home

  • 5 of 5

A relaxing and peaceful location and a cottage with all the comforts of home and more, we found Treglindon very well equipped for all members of a three generation family holiday. Space for children to play in a safe environment with games and garden toys, it is an ideal location for rest days and for visits to local beaches and attractions. David and Jill are excellent HomeAway hosts and are attentive and welcoming in their communication and advice. Highly recommended!

Fabulous cottage with everything you could wish for. Perfect for young families

  • 5 of 5

Spent a very happy and memorable week here with my mum and three smallish kids (aged 3,5 and 8). Everything was well thought out and very easy with small children. We loved exploring north Cornwall and loved the ruggaged landscape And visits to Boscastle and tintagel as well as crackington haven. We also were able to have a couple of further days out too. Really couldn't recommend this cottage enough- we had a great time!

two wonderful weeks at treglindon

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful place to relax and visit places in North Cornwall. Quiet and peaceful. Although off the main road easy to find. On the one hand modern and up-to-date facilities on the other hand cosy and comfortable. Sleeping areas well protected against noise from other parts of the house. Well maintained and looked after. Very clean. Excellent customer service and helpful neighbours. We keep recommending it to our friends. Nice pub with barfood in walking distance (10 min.) Good beaches, children facilities and restaurants in the area. We'll definately come again.
