Apartment by Trafalgar Square

In the very heart of London! Located in a quiet cul-de-sac 1 minute walk from Trafalgar Square - ideal for visitors who want easy access to the best of London. Major tourist sites such as Big Ben & Parliament, No 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace and Covent Garden are all within 5 mins walk. You can see the millennium wheel from the window if you are sitting on the sofa.

As for culture, we are in the middle of the theatre district with musicals, West End, Royal Opera House, National Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts right on your door step. Excellent for shopping, restaurants and night life - 10 mins from Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Sq, Soho, Regent Street and China Town. The flat is kept in a modern, contemporary style. No lift.

We welcome singles, couples, families and groups for both short and long stays.

Trafalgar Square:

Laid out in 1829, Trafalgar Square has recently become car free, creating an attractive open space, with seats and cafes, so it can be used for concerts and entertainment. Looming 172 foot high above the Square is Nelson’s Column, with the famous naval commander standing on its top. Below it, huge bronze lions stand guard and the famous fountains light up the Square at night.

To the east of the Square, the fine old building is the church of St Martin-in-the-Fields, where regular lunchtime concerts and evening recitals of classical music are held. On the north side, the National Gallery holds one of the greatest collections of paintings in the world – and it’s free. Around the corner, the National Portrait Gallery is another of London’s great free attractions.

Charring Cross: which leads off the Square, is the centre of London – literally – it’s the point where all distance to England’s capital are measured to.

Quiet, functional and incredibly well located

This is a gem of a flat - could not have been better located and we all slept extremely well as it was so quiet. It was small but functional - we had no problem fitting the 5 of us and we ate most breakfasts in the flat as well as one dinner.

Our hosts were very accommodating and answered all our questions throughout the week in a timely fashion. All the necessary toiletries and cleaning supplies were there already, too, along with towels.

If we had one minor complaint, it was the shower curtain - one needs to make sure they wrap it entirely around the shower so water does not spray everywhere and it probably could be replaced, as it smells a bit like mildew.

Otherwise we were quite happy in our flat #11 and our 16-year old loved the lift - he used it every single time because of how cool the gated doors were and the fact that you could watch as you ascended or descended. :)

Small, quiet, clean sanctuary in heart of London

Apt 11 was exactly as advertised: a small, clean space in the heart of London. The location was prime. It's just a few minutes' walk to either Embankment or Charing Cross stations. The apartment had everything we needed, from a coffee pot to a hair dryer to a clothes washer. We bought groceries at a nearby store and cooked many meals in the full kitchen. The shower was hot, the internet was reliable, and the lift worked well (otherwise it's 66 stairs). We had 2 adults in the bedroom and 3 kids on the pullouts in the living room. The beds were comfortable, and everyone slept well. We felt like the surrounding area was very safe, and it was quiet at night, both outside on the street and from neighbors within the apartment building. We stayed for 12 nights, and the apartment suited our family's needs perfectly.

Great Location

Harumi's team was very nice and responded quickly to our concerns before and upon our arrival. The apartment was appropriate for our needs if you consider that the purpose of our trip was to know the city and be at the apartment basically only to rest at night. Unfortunately we had a bad experience the first day and night of our stay; the heaters were not working (we had hot water but the rooms were freezing), with the exception of one electric heater. I immediately contacted Harumi and she sent electric heaters the next morning and that fixed the problem. The building is located in front of some other buildings (offices); maybe it was only me but it was uncomfortable not having curtains in the kitchen and bathroom windows (the bathroom's windows have some designs and maybe they block the view); just in case I never turned the lights on when I used the bathroom. Location was perfect! and I mean it when I say Perfect :) we walked or took the bus and subway everywhere. Great restaurants nearby and all the environment made us feel safe.

Conclusion: Harumi's attention was great, location was great, and the condition of the apartment is related to its age and that can be expected. It was wonderful that Harumi took action and did her best to help us.

Amazing location!

Brilliant stay! Perfectly central location. Just minutes from Covent Garden, Leicester Square. Felt very safe and comfortable. The apartment was well furnished and our key holder was polite and helpful. For the price we paid you couldn't ask for more.

Like Mary Poppins practically perfect in every way

Perfect location: we could walk everywhere; only 1 tube- and 2 bus-rides in a week, when we managed to see everything! Right next door to WestEnd, so perfect for dining out and theatre.

Quiet street: it's a cul-de-sac, so no road traffic, no shopping hustle and bustle.

Perfectly fitted: it has everything you need. No shortage of cutlery, cleaning products, towels...

Clean and light.

Only one thing to improve: the lock on the flat door was the original one and it looked somewhat simple. I would have appreciated a stronger, more modern one. Appart from that, to ve highly recommended.

Located in a traditional building supposedly built for Queen Victoria’s officers around the corner from the water gate she used for embarking from the Thames River, this flat is truly right in centre of the most important sights of London. Although minutes away from Trafalgar Square, the flat is in a small street with virtually no traffic, allowing guests to relax and unwind after experiencing the buzz of London.

Two underground stations (Charring Cross and Embankment) nearby give very easy access to The British Museum, St Paul's Cathedral and The Tower of London etc. Excellent transport links to all major airports. 10 min walk from Waterloo.

Other Activities: Shopping, theatre, museums, nightlife, restaurants, sightseeing
