A spacious 4 Bedroom Chalet in the heart of Bourg d'Oisans ideal for families, cyclists and skiers. Sleeps MAX 8 ADULTS. Situated at the foot of the 21 bends of Alpe d'Huez. 16 Kilometers from Bourg d'Oisans to Alpe d'Huez. The property has an integral garage, enclosed garden and fantastic mountain views. There are numerous shops, bars and restaurants within a 5 min walk of the village. GROUND FLOOR: Bed 1 - 2 Single Beds with views of the garden. Ground floor Shower Room/WC. Fully integrated kitchen with dishwasher and Fridge/Freezer. French windows open onto a terrace with table and chairs. 2 sun lounges and a BBQ. Open plan Lounge/Diner with wood burning stove (logs provided). Flat screen TV, English SKY, DVD, CD/Radio and WIFI.

1ST FLOOR: Bed 2 has a Kingsize bed and balcony overlooking the riverbank with superb mountain views. Bed 3 has 1 Double and 2 single beds. Bed 4 has 2 Single Beds. There is a TV and DVD player upstairs. Cot & highchair available.

A Wonderful Destination: Bourg d' Oisans is a holiday resort par excellence! From the world-famous snow-sure ski resorts to quiet mountain villages. You can go hiking, cycling, mountaineering, mountain-biking, horse-riding, skiing, snowboarding, you will never run out of activities or events. The '30 Cyclo Tourisme' guide lists 30 different cycling routes all starting from Bourg d'Oisans, including the 21 hairpin bends to Alpe d'Huez, as well as some less strenuous routes available for all the family. Oisans hosts spectacular mountain bike competitions such as 'Megavalanche' the longest MTB downhill race in the world. The Tour de France and Marmotte cycling race have made it into a cycling Mecca.

For some spectacular scenery you should take a cable car from Alp d'Huez to the top of Pic Blanc 3303m, it is amazing!

Activities for Everyone: There is a beautiful communal outdoor swimming pool with toddler pool and corkscrew slide, open from June to August. 5 minutes walk from the chalet.

Bourg has a Sports Hall with Squash and Tennis Courts. The village has a small playground for children.

If you fancy canoeing, you can do that locally on the River Rive which flows past our chalet.

There are numerous events throughout the Summer months. You will find all sorts of information at our local Tourist Office in the village.

There is a good bus service from Bourg to Alpe d'Huez all year round

Getting to Bourg and Alpe d'Huez: Our closest airport is Grenoble St. Geoirs which is 56 miles away, about 1 hours drive to Bourg. We recommend pre-booking car hire or you can take the transfer bus to Grenoble Gare and get a connecting bus to Bourg.

Lyon airport is 85 miles and about 1 1/2 hrs drive to Bourg. British Airways and many low cost airlines fly to Lyon.

Grenoble train station and City Centre is 44 miles from Bourg d'Oisans with a number of buses available to the village.

If you prefer to drive, it will take approximately 8 - 9 hours from Calais. It is a very easy drive as it is motorway all the way. The tolls are about 80 Euros each way.

What makes this chalet unique

A modern chalet style house with amazing views and in the heart of the village. We are situated on the banks of the River Rive. The garden is totally enclosed so it is safe for small children.

This is our much loved holiday home, so you will find all the necessary comforts of a family home.

Comfy beds, great outside space, fully stocked kitchen, super dining areas and four spacious bedrooms. Even Birtish TV!!

We all had a thoroughly enjoyable time - a great place for cycling. Would love to come back in the ski season too.

The Chalet has a Lounge/Dining Room area and open plan Kitchen. All rooms have electric thermostat central heating and the windows have shutters. To the front is a large gated drive suitable for up to 4 cars. An integral garage, ideal for the winter months or for storing bicycles and motorbikes. The garden is totally enclosed with terrace right around the house and the rest laid to lawn. There is a Chimney BBQ for all year use (logs included), garden table, 12 chairs, 2 sunloungers and a parasol. The Balcony has a Bistro table and 2 chairs. We have English Sky TV, Internet access (Broadband), DVD with various films to watch. CD/radio and an X-Box (bring your own games). Bed linen is £8 per set. No towels supplied. Cot, highchair and stairgate available for infants. Other facilities include toaster, coffee machine, slow cook pot, kettle, ironing board and iron, clothes airer, hairdryer, fire guard, logs, numerous books, games and DVD library.

I can not wait until our next stay in this wonderful house! I would recommend this property to any family or group of cyclists who want a great location in a quiet comfortable setting. It was a pleasure to come home to cook in a wonderful kitchen after a long day in the saddle and relax in the yard. We enjoyed the comfortable beds. The owner was very responsive and helped make this the best vacation ever!

This house is amazing.

The house is amazing, so spacious and well equipped. Perfect central location but so peaceful. With a lovely private garden outside dinning is a must. Large spacious beadrooms with comfy beds and a garage with bike workstsnd this house has it all.

If I was to have a house in the Alps this would be it!

Great house near the centre of Bourg d'Oisans

This house had everything we wished for. Enough space, complete equipment and more than enough beds. We had a great week while participating at Alpe d'Huzes. This was a great experience.

The safe for the key for the front door was really usefull.

Also a lot of space around the house, where the kids could play.

Near the centre of Bourg d'Oisans. We could walk there in about 5 minutes.

We had a great time here!

An idyllic place to stay

We first saw this house when strolling along the other side of the river two years ago. Some children were playing in the garden and splashing around. We thought it would an idyllic place to stay. This year we did indeed stay here. And it fulfilled all our hopes. But it is not just the situation which is just right. It is a lovely, comfortable, well-cared-for, well-appointed house. Everything has been thought about. We were treated with respect, as if we really were guests. A perfect stay. Thank you.

perfect base for a sportsholiday

This is a perfect accomodation for getting out and cycle the Alpes. We have stayed here with a group of friends and had a perfect homebase with it. The evening with the BBQ on fire and the Casino supermarket close by were a guarantee for nice meals. This gave us the energy to go out for cycling every day. We will not hesitate to choose this accomodation again the next time!

A typical French village with beautiful mountain views and a river running through. The chalet is in the heart of the village only 5 mins walk to all amenities, shops, bars, restaurants, banks, swimming pool etc. Bourg d'Oisans is the gateway to the Ecrins National Park which has over 680km of marked trails and numerous streams, rivers and lakes. You can go walking, climbing, cycling, fishing, mountain biking, white water-rafting, skiing etc. or just relax in the sunshine. You will always have something to do either in Winter or Summer whether you wish to relax with the family or enjoy exhilarating mountain sports. Alpe d'Huez a snow-sure resort is 20 mins away with 240 km of pistes and Les 2 Alps 30 mins drive. The Tour de France and Marmotte cycle touring race have made it into a cycling mecca. Please see ski section for information about the numerous ski resorts in the area. There is a regular public bus service to both ski stations.

Other Activities: White water rafting, canoeing, kayaking, paragliding, ice climbing & mountain biking

Golf: Should you fancy a game of golf, Alpe d'Huez and Les 2 Alps both have 9 hole golf courses, with spectacular views. There are other courses at Grenoble and Auriage.

Ski: Alpe d'Huez is one of the top five high altitude resorts in France with excellent snow records. It is set high in the Grandes Rousses Mountains and is ideal for skiers and snowboarders of every level. There are 240 km of ski runs, including the worlds longest 16 km black run 'La Sarenne' which starts from the top of Pic Blanc at 3330mtrs. 88 interlinked lifts. 39 green runs, 32 blue, 28 red and 19 black runs some of which enable you to ski to the surrounding satellite villages. 2 snowparks & 50 km of cross-country skiing tracks. Indoor and outdoor swimming, ice-skating, tobogganing, snowmobiles, off piste skiing, skiing by night, ice diving or climbing. Excellent mountain access for non-skiers with many marked walks. There is also a fully equipped sports centre with many activities. Plenty of parking space & ski hire shops.

Alpe d'Huez is quite a well-equipped resort for skiers with disabilities. Their ESF instructors are specially trained and have a range of adapted ski equipment.
