The symbol par excellence of Galician secular society, the "lords of the land" and its noble status until well into the nineteenth century, was the manor house, an austere and sober building attached to a tower.
Among the many adjectival units of the manor, which make up a typical Galician architectural ensemble, is the Casa do Caseiro, a home designed to house the family was taking care of the estate of the man who, usually, not usually live in the countryside.
The villa Casa do Caseiro Scholarship, is within this exceptional environment to its original location which took advantage through successful rehabilitation and adaptation of spaces to current needs.
Its immediate environment (1.4 km) is dotted with the remains of a medieval bridge, (the oldest in Galicia) Gothic stone cross, the Castro Lupario and Portuguese Way (next and Santiago (8 km) Roman road.
