A couple of cats call this property home. The house is immersed in nature: There are 2 wild peregrine falcons who have nested and are feeding their fledgling just 3 blocks down the hill, and whale watching and dolphins at the beach just a short 12 minute walk. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Close to all Southern California attractions, we are located just:

About Linda

I am originally from a small midwestern town, and have lived in many places around the world but keep returning here to the paradise in the cove....Redondo Beach. I love the diversity of the South Bay, from the diversity of the people, to the diversity of the terrain: tide pools to eucalyptus forests, coastline resorts to working ranches just inland... I love living in the south bay!

Why Linda chose Los Angeles area

We love our little beach house on the hill above Miramar Park. Walkable to the ocean, it's a beautiful haven in the trees, away from bustle of the south bay. The Upper Riviera has with the feel of the Pacific Northwest, boasting incredible natural features like tide pools, Palos Verdes cliffs and hiking trails, and the beautiful cove of south Redondo Beach. Walk right out the back gate of the property onto a quiet wood chip trail that leads 2 blocks from the ocean. Stroll down to the water in just about 12 minutes.

What makes this house unique

Close to the ocean, plentwalk to the beach, private hot tub, Extremely kid-friendly yard and home, in a forest of eucalyptus trees, on a wood chip trail used for hiking and jogging, close to Trader Joe's, Von's, shopping, Riviera Village spas, cafes, and shops.

Our home is located close to cross streets Calle Mayor and Palos Verdes Blvd. Riviera Village is the local shopping area and a great location for dining... tons of good little food spots there. You really can't go wrong. Also a Trader Joe's, a Von's, and a Smart & Final, several banks, spas, pubs...

For recreation, Olympus Paddle Boards or Tarsan are great sources of recreation for the family; the harbor also offers rental kayaks and paddle boats, and has glass bottom boat tours.

While you are here you should visit Sea Lab in Redondo Beach. It was founded by local residents twin brothers Bill and Bob Meistrell, lovers of oceanic life and inventors of the wetsuit!

Redondo Beach is an amazing ecological area, featuring the Redondo Canyon, one of the deepest spots of the ocean, and located just off the coast at Redondo Beach, making it a star destination for snorkeling and deep sea diving.

Redondo Beach was also the home of one of the largest inland salt marshes in North America... the current wildlife is a tribute to that feature.

Redondo was also home of the first ever lifeguard training established by George Freeth in 1908 (he singlehandedly saved over 20 stranded Japanese sailors in a ship wreck off the coast of Redondo Beach by swimming out and bringing each person back one by one.)

Currently, and in contrast to northern neighbors Hermosa and Manhattan, Redondo Beach is a family oriented, casual community on the ocean. And the Hollywood Riviera section of Redondo is located in a quiet, hilltop forest overlooking the ocean. Whether you enjoy biking, jogging, kite sailing, stand up paddle boarding, surfing, or just lying on the beach and building sand castles, Redondo has it all.

See you soon

Great Family Home in a Beautiful Neighborhood close to the beach !

  • 5 of 5

We loved the location a short walk to Redondo Beach, restaurants, and shopping. The home was beautiful: clean, beds were very comfortable, amenities were plentiful, neighborhood felt safe, friendly and home was close to the beach and shopping.

We had 6 adults and had no issues with one bathroom as there were plenty of mirrors. The furnishings were high quality and comfortable. No clutter and very clean. The kitchen has everything needed for cooking or baking and the outside grill was clean and full of propane. The fridge has filtered water and ice. The house was well stocked with paper products, extra linens and pillows, and plenty of towels and washcloths.

The fenced in outdoor area was expansive: very comfortable with lots of play equipment for the children. The neighborhood was safe and quiet with plenty of parking between the garage, driveway and street.

Linda is friendly and professional not like novice property owners we've dealt with in the past. Our stay exceeded our expectations! No hassles, no stress, no surprises and no disappointment. If we had questions throughout stay she was quick to respond.

We could have done a longer stay and been very comfortable (family of 8 with young children on this stay).

If we were coming to the area again, we would be excited to stay at this property.

Charming, artistic, close to the beach...

  • 5 of 5

Linda was an excellent host and made sure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She was very attentive, hospitable, and accommodating. The house was private and had a private yard for our puppy to have his own space to play, too.

Situated at the top of the hill in beautiful residential Torrance, her home has an artsy, secret-garden feel and the house we stayed in is nestled among fruit trees in the gardener/kid-friendly yard, shared with two sweet ducks, a couple of hens, and two friendly cats. We loved the natural setting of her home and the house itself was very clean, spacious, and extra comfortable.

The house was very relaxing, the bed and pillows were especially comfortable, and we very much appreciated Linda's generosity with the fruit, chocolate, chips, and water, as well as toiletries and other household items! We felt we had everything (and more) that we needed and appreciated her checking in with us.

We were also particularly thankful for the excellent fans --I tend to overheat when I sleep and I slept perfectly.

The location was PERFECT! I especially loved the backyard exit into the eucalyptus-lined footpath behind the house that leads down to the Redondo cliff-side and the ocean. A refreshing jaunt down to the beach can happen at anytime! The neighborhood is quiet and calm, and the casita gets the perfect amount of sunlight and shade.

We love the Redondo area for fresh air, stunning cliff sides and views, and beautiful beaches that are NOT overly populated. Linda's casita is the perfect place for anyone looking for a friendly, calm, peaceful getaway by the sea.

We look forward to visiting again someday!

Relaxing, Fun, and Comfortable Stay

  • 5 of 5

Linda was very promptly responsive from the moment I expressed interest in the property to the morning we checked out and said our good-byes. Since we were coming from a distance, this was very reassuring. Members of our family came from the east coast, the pacific northwest, and the mid-west to spend a week together in RB.

Our stay was everything we expected, and more! The cute and clean house was rustic and beachy, situated in a great location on a quiet street. It was perfect for our clan, from the youngest littles to the grands. We loved the easy access to the beaches, and walked down every day. Either route for the walk down to the beach was beautiful: the woodchip trail or the street with spectacular ocean views from Catalina to Santa Barbara.

The outdoor area was terrific for socializing. There was a grill and a large dining table that seated 6, as well as an extra smaller picnic table and another little table for two for al fresco dining. The club house and play yard were a big hit with the kids!

The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were cozy, and we found there was a beautiful cross breeze in the house with the windows open and ceiling fans on. The towels were soft and plentiful. The shampoo & conditioner in the bathroom was a nice touch.

The floor plan is great for entertaining and very nicely accommodated our three families. Even with seven of us there was plenty of space for all of us to be together or to spread out to find some privacy. We had friends join us most days and we were still completely comfortable.

I will absolutely rent this home again and would recommend it without hesitation!

Romantic, Fun, Secluded yet Close

  • 5 of 5

This house was very beautiful, simple and elegant. We felt like we were at home. The home was fully stocked with toiletries and home necessities plus the simple notes throughout the house for aid was very helpful. We had a welcome basket that was very nice. The neighborhood was quiet throughout our stay. We only had one minor issue but things happen unexpectedly which the owner was available and very helpful. My family especially loved the kitchen, great for cooks! The kids loved the amount of space and the play equipment. The direct access to the trail afforded us many family nature hikes during our stay.

We would gladly rent from Linda the next time we're in town. This is a great place for kids and family, and I think also would be good for a couple wanting a romantic get away.

We Loved This Home!

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful, comfortable home. The beds were so comfy and the beautiful house was very clean. The neighborhood is quiet and delightful. We loved all the lush landscaping surrounding the area.

We were welcomed with a lovely food and wine basket- the kids snacked and the parents relaxed in the back yard dining area!

It was a perfect home getaway for an extended family vacation. The girls shared the room with bunk beds, grandparents shared the room with 2 double beds, and my wife and I had the master bedroom with our little one. The hosts surprised us with a fun welcome basket of snacks, goodies and drinks. They even had some of the essentials regarding groceries. We loved the fact that this didn't feel like a vacation place but literally it was our own home away from home walking distance from the ocean. The beaches in his area are beautiful, and the Village was full of great shops and cafes. We stopped at a lot of the little shops but enjoyed walking the neighborhood and walking down to the beach. The house is quiet off of the busy streets but close enough to everything. It was a great vacation for all of us, toddler, teenagers, grandparents, and a young couple!

Thank you for such a fabulous place to stay! We can't wait to come back again and have recommended to our out of town family that comes to visit Redondo.

This property is poorly maintained

We are also VRBO owners and would never, ever, expect to rent our home in the condition of this rental. We did not stay in the home. We took pictures and left immediately.

Owner's Response: We are sorry you were dissatisfied and wanted a refund after checking in. We still do not understand what you needed. We wish you had given us a chance to address concerns (what were they?).
