About the property

Our spacious semi-detached 3 bedroom apartment is located in the exclusive Old Village. This first & second floor property comprises of an entrance hall with cloakroom, leading to the large comfortable lounge with fireplace, and Sat TV, incl SKY Sports. Two sets of French doors give the room a bright, airy feel. The dining area adjoins a separate fully equipped kitchen including dishwasher, fridge, cooker, washing machine & microwave. A winding staircase leads to the second floor where you will find 3 double bedrooms & 2 bathrooms,1 being en-suite. Stairs from the landing lead up to the large roof terrace with stunning panoramic views across the Old Village & Vilamoura to the sea. This is a feature of the property for use both day & night, the terrace has a shower, plus food prep area with sink & fridge, BBQ & outdoor furniture. Within the Old Village there are cafes bars & restaurants & a well stocked supermarket. The complex boasts 3 swimming pools, which have sun beds for hire & poolside bars. Brand new additions to the Old Village are the outdoor fitness area, childrens play area, and free wifi throughout the Old Village including inside the apartment!

Golf Information: This 3 bedroom apartment is ideal for golfers. Within a ten minute drive there are six championship golf courses.

The Old course being one of the first built in the Algarve in 1976.The closest course to the apartment is the Pinhal course two minutes to the first tee, a beautiful course lined by pine trees(the course can be seen from the roof terrace) and costs about 55 Euro per round. The Laguna course is fairly new and is full of water hazards just waiting for your tee shots. The Millennium course is varied with some tight holes and some more open allowing you to be more aggressive with your shots. The Victoria is expensive(110 Euro) but is truly a championship course. Within 40 minutes there are more than ten other courses to play.

The Old Village : The Old Village with its pedestrianized cobbled streets and beautifully maintained gardens, walkways and pools is truly enchanting, and we believe our apartment provides the perfect base for a wonderful holiday experience. The surrounding area is quiet and peaceful, yet is within easy reach of the marina, beach and all amenities.

There are three beautiful swimming pools within the complex for the exclusive use of owners and guests, and a children's play area.

We came across the Old Village by accident whilst staying in Vilamoura and instantly fell in love with the place! We decided it was the perfect location for family holidays, and came home 3 days later having bought our apartment. We viewed several on the complex but this one stood out, because of it's cool, spacious interior, convenient location and the stunning views from the roof terrace.

If you are staying for 14 nights, maid service is provided half way through your stay. Additional maid service can be provided for an extra fee. Towels and bed linen provided, but not beach towels. For two week bookings all linen and towels are changed at the end of the first week. Checking in- not before 2:00pm to allow time for cleaning of apartment, but check with the managing agents OV-International reception on your arrival, especially during off peak. The reception can be found in Church Square beside Casa Do Largo restaurant, 100 metres from the apartment. Checking out- please vacate the apartment by 11:00am- if you need to store luggage on day of arrival or departure, please ask at reception.

Lovely apartment, great location

The apartment is close to the minimarket, restaurants, bars and pools yet is also quiet. Roof terrace is very good with lovely views towards the marina. Everything you need is provided in the apartment.

We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment and the Old Village.

Spacious apartment at the heart of the Old Village

We arrived after office hours and were impressed with the simple arrangements to access the property, with a printout of our name and the telephone number of security clearly displayed in the window of the OV office which was 50m from the drop off point and only 100m from the property. Security took us right to the property and made sure everything was ok and we had instructions to pop along to the OV office in the morning, where we then arranged for a swipe card to access the pools, etc.

The resort is beautifully maintained with lovely plants and flowers and is very clean. It is about 20 minutes walk from the marina and about 30 minutes to Falesia beach, although you can catch a land train which even runs out of season and costs 4 euros for one journey and 6 euros to use it all day.

The property is spacious and reasonably up to date, with comfortable furniture and a brilliant roof terrace, it is worth noting that nothing is provided in the kitchen so you will need washing powder, liquid, etc and all condiments and basic cooking ingredients. There is a small supermarket on site open until 8 pm, if you arrive later, beware, the only open shop we could find was a local garage.

We had a few problems with the property, the boiler which provides hot water downstairs stopped working but after reporting this to the OV office, someone came and fixed it in a couple of hours and replaced a number of light bulbs that were not working.

For the first half of the week we did not have any neighbours but for the last couple of days someone was staying in the property downstairs and we noticed how readily sound travels from one property to the next.

Would i come again? Yes, Villamoura is surprisingly green and open and you can access open and undeveloped beaches, the Old Village resort is lovely although in season we were warned it is very busy and noisy with children, but you do have to be prepared to walk to shops, marina, etc.

Fantastic Location

Old Village, Vilamoura is a fantastic location with everything on your doorstep. Meters from the apartment are the supermarket, bakery, village cafe and restaurants. The three swimming pools are well looked after, with the large main pool being more family orientated. The sunbed hire is €1.50 per half day, but worth it.

The apartment is well equipped and laid out, with the sun terrace being my favourite area. It gets very hot up there in the day but is wonderful for breakfast & late afternoon / evenings. The management company could do a better job of maintaining the apartment but don't let that put you off - they fix stuff if you ask them. The owner is amazing and helpful!

I would DEFINITELY recommend the location & apartment.

Great location

Overall this property is great, very close to the marina and in a great location within the Old Village which is ideal for families and couples. Only a 15 minute walk to the marina all though you can get the tourist train just outside the supermarket. It was clean and well equipped. Particularly liked the sun terrace. The owner was very helpful with any queries. Would recommend.

excellent apartment

The old holiday village is a fabulous complex & this is a beautiful 3 bedroom apartment on site. Lovely restaurants & 3 lovely pools all only steps away. Apartment is spacious and very homely. Kitchen well equipped with utensils & very clean and well maintained. I would highly recommend this apartment & this complex. I will be back hopefully.

Fantastic family break

What a wonderful stay we had. I went with my two adult sons and the apartment was perfect for us. Great views from the roof terrace and all essentials you needed. With a short transfer and walking distance to the marina and the beach (that's if you don't want to laze round one of the many pools) what more could you ask for. The whole event was made more pleasurable as it was so easy to arrange and any enquiries regarding the booking dealt with promptly and efficiently. We will definitely be going back.

The Old Village is just a 15 minute walk from Vilamoura, which has something for everyone, with it's beautiful blue flag beaches where you can enjoy a wide variety of water sports, or relax in the sun. There are 5 championship golf courses located nearby, The Pinhal golf course actually surrounds the Old Village. There are no less than 3 water parks within easy driving distance & Zoo Marine where you can swim with dolphins (book early).

If you enjoy tennis, there are courts just 5 minutes walk away.

The fabulous Vilamoura Marina is worth a visit both day and night, with its range of designer shops, fantastic restaurants, Casino and lively bars - a great place to watch the world go by.. The fishing town of Quarteira is within a five minute drive of the apartment where traditional Portuguese cuisine is in abundance. There are markets to visit everyday in the surrounding towns. Or you can just relax at the Old Village at one of the 3 swimming pools & enjoy the bars & restaurants within the complex. There is a new children's play area, and outdoor fitness area. The Old Village also now benefits from free wifi throughout the complex, including in our apartment.

Other Activities: Water parks, karting, shopping, Tennis, Sea fishing, Boat trips, cycling, water sports.
