|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Our golf cottage is one of our 3 properties at the Lake of the Ozarks and sits right on #15 fairway and next to the Old Kinderhook tennis courts and swimming pool. Our other two properties are across the highway located inside the Sugarloaf Vineyard Winery (VRBO listings 456930 and 456932). Please check out all 3 properties!
The Old Kinderhook golf cottage is a 1 bdr, 1 bath that sleeps 2 (plus another roll-out sofa in the living room), and the Sugarloaf Properties are a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and a 3 bedroom, 3.5 bath.
All 3 properties have full use of the Sugarloaf lakefront picnic grounds and free kayaking.
Stay at the Old Kinderhook golf cottage and enjoy some of the finest golf in Missouri (Ranked #2 in the State), play tennis, relax by the pool, go fishing off the pier, boating, swimming, hiking and other amenities at the Resort. Or try your 'feet' at OK's new outdoor ice skating rink which then doubles as sand volleyball courts in the summer!
If you have a large group please consider combining your stay with our sister properties across the road at the Sugarloaf Vineyard. As part of the Sugarloaf Rental community you enjoy free kayaking (you can choose from singles or double kayaks) and use of the Sugarloaf Park Lakefront property. This property has a breathtaking view of the Big Niangua arm, very calm water and fabulous for kayaking.
The Golf Cottage at Old Kinderhook boasts a large master bedroom with a king bed and a roll-out sofa for a second couple or a family with children. The living room has a 40 inch flat screen and the bedroom a flat screen as well; satellite TV and free wi-fi.
Fish from the Old Kinderhook marina, catch some crappie and grill them on your cottage charcoal grill! Or, skip the grilling and enjoy fine dining at the Old Kinderhook Trophy Room restaurant or casual dining at the Sugarloaf Vineyard nearby.
Do some bird-watching or score a few birdies of your own on the magnificent, Tom Weiskopf designed golf course.
You'll have easy access to the Lake via the Old Kinderhook Marina for boating or choose the quiet lakefront at the Sugarloaf Vineyard property for kayaking and fishing.
There is a state park nearby called Ha Ha Tonka with an underground spring that expels 2,000,000 gallons of water per hour into the Lake and you could spend an entire day at the Park exploring, swimming or fishing.
No matter what your perception of a perfect vacation is, you won't be disappointed with the relaxation and serene feeling you will have when you leave this refreshing property!
Owners are Ward & Barb Morris who moved to the Lake in 1985 and raised our 3 children in one of the most beautiful locales in the U.S.! Barb owned and operated several Lake area restaurants over the past 27 years and enjoys the fine art of cooking and especially, pairing food with wine! Ward takes weekend breaks from his Computer Consulting career to tend to over 1500 grapevines on the property and looks forward each fall to harvest time.
Barb Morris purchased this cottage in 2014
This property is across the highway from Ward & Barb's home and was purchased to expand the VRBO offerings to include a golf course community home but can also enjoy the serene location and amenities of our other 2 properties located at the Sugarloaf Vineyard.
We fell in love with the quiet side of the Lake and especially the Niangua Arm tributary with it's amazing wildlife. During the month February you can often spot as many as 700 great white Pelicans feeding on Lake fish for as long as 2 weeks as they migrate. This actually inspired the name of one of Sugarloaf Vineyards wines; the White Pelican, a dry white Chardonel. Other birdlife includes the great bald eagle, blue herons, egrets, seagulls, hawks, owls and host of other. And of course, several deer like to walk through the golf course at dusk and dawn. It's a great getaway couples setting, or for a small family or, combined with the other 2 Sugarloaf Rental properties, great for reunions or to get away from the city.
This lovely, spacious cottage lives up to the owner's description. We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the rooms are, and the beautiful view of the golf course and the lodge. The king-size bed is comfortable, as is the living room furniture. The twin sinks in the bathroom, together with a separate water closet, allow for a couple to ready themselves at the same time. The separate shower with door was great, no annoying shower curtain used in hotel bathtubs.
When we arrived, it was starting to get dark, and the ice rink and lodge was all lit up for a pretty night-time view.
Barb and Ward provide a binder of information about the cottage, the grounds, and attractions close by. We were thrilled to find out that walking around the golf course was permitted, and since it was too cold for golfing, we were able to enjoy some great afternoon walks on the continuous cart path. It's a beautiful property.
Having all of the amenities of home was great, giving us some quiet time to relax and enjoy the cottage and the view. Speaking of quiet, it was very quiet here for sleeping. I'm not sure what it would be like during the summer.
We would recommend this lovely cottage for anyone looking for extra space and the comforts of home in a resort environment. Thank you Barb and Ward!
We have stayed here several times. It is always clean and comfortable with a great view of the golf course from the deck and a great view of the ice skating rink in the winter. We love it!
This is a very cozy home and we really enjoyed our stay. Excellent location at Old Kinderhook - It was right on the golf course and so close to the Lodge and The Trophy Room. We will be visiting again and we would love to stay here next time too!!!
We love it here. This was our fourth time staying, and we loved it just as much as the first. The amenities are perfect for the two of us and our dogs. We love relaxing on the deck, grilling, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. In the evenings the golf course makes for a perfect walk. We also really enjoy the location. The cottage is located in sleepy Camdenton, just a short 15 minute drive to the more touristy Osage Beach. Depending on our mood we can relax in the quiet town, go hiking or fishing at nearby Ha Ha Tonka State Park, or head up for some outlet shopping. This really is our home away from home and as long as we can, we will be returning! Thank you Barb and Ward for always being so accommodating!!
My husband and I enjoyed a few days at the Old Kinderhook Resort - played golf and took our boat out on the lake. The accommodation was perfect ! Everything we needed was supplied, just as advertised.
The cottage was perfect for our stay at Old Kinderhook and we would definitely stay again! The bed and pillows are super comfy and we loved having our own space!
The cottage is a short walk away from the Trophy Room and The Lodge which was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding.
We visited the Sugarloaf vineyard and Haha Tonka State Park on our visit...both are awesome ... our bottle of wine made it home safely in our checked luggage ... :).
