We purchased the home and the home and cottage in May 2014, and did some major renovating. We have another property Waterfront Charmer VRBO 163627 which we have been renting for about 10 years. We love vacationers and hope you have a great visit.
Tom and I purchased a cottage in Pass-a-grille in September 2001. Our family enjoyed
weekends at the beach cottage (real life was in S Tampa) until our weekends got longer and longer. We love the area, live in the area which makes it very easy to monitor and manage the rentals.
Patricia Black (Pat) purchased this apartment in 2014
This apartment was a mess when we purchased but it had great bones!!! We have been diligently dealing with contractors and getting the property up to the beauty it can be.
The apartment is so very close to the prettiest part of Pass-a-grille Beach and the balcony is small but high up in the palms and foliage with a surprisingly nice breeze. Balcony size is aprox 5 feet by 7 feet.
I've timed walking from the bottom of the steps to the beach access is 1 minute 15 sec., from the bottom of steps to your toes wet in the Gulf of Mexico is 2 minutes, 30 sec. Is that close enough?!?
We rented this garage apt together with the main house for a family Christmas, and it was perfect for us. We had the right amount of togetherness and separation. The unit is spacious, very well equipped, tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The owner, Pat, was great to deal with. You'll have all the beach gear you need. Rentals in PAG aren't cheap, but the pristine beach and general quiet retro appeal of PAG make it one of my favorites. The neighborhood is a very quiet residential area. There was some road work in front of the house but it was not a problem (and we appreciated that the owner advised us of this in advance, rather than letting us find out on our arrival). Unfortunately, many of PAG's modest, retro beach cottages are being torn down for McManions with very entitled occupants. The only downside of our stay was some unpleasant interactions with a couple of these crabby neighbors, who did their best to make use feel unwelcome. But other than that, this was a lovely stay for us!
We recently spent 6 spectacular, relaxing weeks at the Treehouse Charmer (May/June 2016). Pat could not have been more welcoming - so personable, providing insight on the beach, local restaurants, stores and even trolley information. She is a wealth of information. We toasted the start of our stay with the bottle of wine provided (a nice touch-check the frig). She has thought of everything to make your stay perfect. The cinnamon bread and orange juice provided for breakfast assured we didn't have to run out to the store immediately. We brought beach chairs and an umbrella but they are provided and are good quality (Tommy Bahama). The queen bed is very comfortable and I was delighted to find a sound machine (loved that). We also used the trundle bed when our niece visited and it is of good quality (as are the pillows). The kitchen is well stocked, to include even water bottles to take to the beach. The location of this "Charmer" is the absolute best part. It is steps from the gulf, enabling you very easy access to the beach (3 minute walk at most). We walked the beach each morning counting Dolphins/Manatees and in the evening to watch the sunset. The neighborhood is extremely safe and the neighbors are friendly. You will LOVE your stay at The Treehouse Charmer!
All of the positive reviews are very accurate.
Terrific getaway spot in a location we love to visit. Excellent and attentive hosts! Perfect for the two of us. Would love to come back again.
The Treehouse Charmer was really that! The apartment is extremely well decorated, and the owner has created a welcoming environment with many of the things you'd expect in your own home so that you need not be a packrat nor feel like you need to spend a lot of time to buy things at a store in order to be functional on your own for several days or a week. The bed was very comfortable, as we the day bed. The location is great too -- close to the beach and each to explore Pass-a-Grille. The only negative was the inability of the air conditioning to keep up with what was an extremely hot week (not too surprising for mid-June in FL!). We would have loved to stay longer! Pat was a very gracious host, including helping our friends at the house behind us with a surprise.
My teenage daughter and I recently stayed here. The place is very charming and is MUCH bigger than it looks in the pictures. A family of four with young children could comfortably stay here. The place was very clean and had everything you could possibly need and want. The bed was VERY comfortable. We lucked out because there were a couple days before the people renting the place in the back arrived so Pat graciously let us use the pool and patio area --- that pool felt great after a long day at the beach. The beach is just around the corner and it was nice to be away from the crowds. The local restaurants are all close by. Pat was very welcoming and wonderful.
This rental was the perfect size for my daughter and I staying a long weekend. The tree house was stocked with everything we needed and more. Pat was very responsive to our requests. You can see that she truly wants her renters to enjoy the property to its fullest. I enjoyed taking advantage of the bicycle, exploring all around the Pass-a-Grille streets. The property is further north than the map indicates. We hope to be back for sure!
The treehouse Charmer is located in a quiet residential area just one block from the Gulf of Mexico. The beach in this area is pristine and not crowded because public parking is at a minimum. It is the mother-in-law apartment on the same property as our Pass-a-grille's Sunset Charmer VRBO 651022.
The Mini Charmer is perfect for 2 adults but can accommodate 4. The apartment is located over the garage with a balcony surrounded by palm trees - it feels like you're in a Florida tree house. The decor is very bright and cheery and the space is more spacious than the pictures reflect. Light yellow makes the space feel like a sunroom. The bedroom and kitchen are a nautical blue. The galley kitchen is a nice sized, loaded with all the utensils necessary, new appliances with driftwood painted cabinets.
The apartment has it's own private entrance and one parking spot.

We have serviced and lubed the garage door, yet it still makes noise in the apartment when it is opened and shut, it is not horrible, but it is noticeable.
