About Bruce Freeman
We live in Connecticut and fell in love with the cape on a vacation. We spend as many weekends up at the house as we are able throughout the year with our three boys.
Bruce Freeman purchased this House in 2004
Why Bruce Freeman chose East Harwich
The cape is a magical place-particularly for families. We love the house because it allows access to Long Pond, but is also very well situated to get around to the many great beaches on the Bay(Skaket in Orleans is our favorite) and the rest of the many activities the cape has to offer.
What makes this House unique
The Koi pond is a definitely a highlight-a very tranquil setting in which to relax after a busy day on the cape.

Great cape vacation house for families!
Had a great stay with my wife and two kids—8 year old boy and 6 year old girl.
The road leading to the house is quite unpaved, but we quickly got adjusted to that. The house has everything you need to entertain kids. We loved walking to the pond —very close and using the house’s kayaks and having life preservers of every size was great! The koi pond was also cute and was fun to quickly feed the fish and watch the 2 rabbits that always seemed to be grazing in the back yard. There was bocce and horseshoes which we did not play. There is also foosball and darts in the house. Tv is small but happy to get away from electronics. Nice deck with bbq which we used twice.
The house is not too close to any town center so getting most anywhere is a 12-15 minute car ride, but it is fairly central between Harwich center, Brewster, Orleans and Dennis, all of which we like to visit on our annual trip to the cape.
We will definitely look to stay here in future summers!
We loved our stay. The house is beautiful and great for kids. We enjoyed the kayak on Long Pond as well. Thank you!!
This is our third time renting this beautiful home, centrally located on the Cape. The koi pond, short walk to the lake, and a nice sized home in the woods, with ac in the bedrooms, make for a nice experience. The owner is also very quick to answer any questions you have. This year, there were also shutters added to the skylights which was a very nice addition. I just wish the entire house had ac, as the week we went the weather was hot and humid, and the house was pretty hot as well (other than the bedrooms).
Overall, another very nice experience on Cape Cod.
The house is lovely and fairly isolated but near homes on Long Pond, which is easily accessible. Koi pond was fascinating for the younger set and kayaking was a draw for the energetic. Near to lovely beaches and eateries. We survived the "Tornado of 2019" with little damage to the house, although a tree fell onto the deck and portions of the roof. Thanks to Bruce talking us through, we found candles, flashlights and a large container of bottled water in the basement.which helped us through two days without power. There was also plenty of propane. The upside of all that was no electronic devices and some family bonding time! (There's an excellent super-sized Scrabble board, puzzles and games.) There were mini-golf places in Yarmouth that seemed to have power and we chose the second powerless day (weather was brighter) to go whale watching out of Barnstable. Bruce was very accommodating and as helpful a long-distance host as you could require. All in all, one of our more memorable weeks at the Cape!
Great house, great location!
Wonderful house. Well stocked with all necessities including cookware, games, dinnerware. Plenty of pillows and blankets. Loved the koi pond. Great location! The little beach on the pond was great to launch kayaks and take a dip. Nearby Cahoon Beach was a great quiet beach, perfect for our baby granddaughter. Thanks Bruce for letting us enjoy your beautiful home! Would definitely come again!
Great family house in good location
I stayed here with my husband and two teenage sons and we had a really relaxing week. The house is comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor BBQ grill was great and well used during our stay. We enjoyed being so close to the lake and being able to swim and using the kayaks at the start and end of the day without having to travel in the car to the beach. Good supermarket and shops about 2 miles away and a 10-15 minute drive into Harwich Port. It was a little bit more isolated that I expected, but this isn't a problem if you have a car.
Perfect location for golf-minutes away from Cranberry Valley Golf Course(Harwich), Captains Golf Course(36 holes-Brewster) and The Ocean's Edge Golf Course(Brewster).
