Casa Gianni is a panoramic and indipendent typical Amalfitan House of an enchanting 150 square- meter which sleeps 3 to 7 people. It features a terrace and a wide a splendid view of the sea. It is situated in Atrani a village of the coast, at approximately fifty meters above the sea level.
Casa Gianni is two storey high. The lower floor is built around a wide terrace of thirty square meters; the kitchen, the laundry and the main body of the house open on the terrace. This main body includes a luxurious living room (thirty square meters!), a wide bedroom with a king size bed , a small single-bed room and a bathroom. The living room and the large bedroom open on a balcony. There is an open fireplace in the living room, but it cannot be used. A wide staircase leads from the terrace to the balcony of the upper floor. Two double bedrooms open on the balcony. One of them has a third bed for a child. The upper floor includes also a second bathroom. The terrace at the lower level is used as a roomy living room: during most of the year meals are eaten outside, dining tables for 8/10 people are available. The daily routine takes normally place on the terrace, it rarely rains. The kitchen is rather small but it is fully equipped: there is a gas cooking plate with five places, an electric oven, a wash basin with warm water, a small refrigerator and a dishwasher. There is a second big, old refrigerator in the laundry. It works still perfectly. Further the laundry contains the washing machine, a wash basin with warm water and the furnace for central heating. The house can be accessed through three different gates. These can be reached from different parts of the village by means of public stairways. The ascent is relatively steep, one has to climb between 80 and 100 steps. Small children must be carried, children of five or more years enjoy the walk. The house is heated centrally by means of gas tanks that are delivered at home, once ordered. During the summer the house is quite cool. The beach of the village can be reached through a staircase of approximately one hundred steps. A second beautiful beach can be reached by stepping down 80 steps and walking briefly along the provincial motorway. The distance to be covered is approximately 200 meters. There is a second stairway from the provincial motorway and the beach. Amalfi is roughly 600 meters off Atrani; it can be reached on foot along a path with beautiful landscapes. Many beaches can be reached from Amalfi both on foot or by boat. The Amalfi coast is gorgeous, but it is rather fatiguing, it runs straight into the sea. All movements are either up or down. In Atrani there are a few groceries, a butcher and even a small fish shop. There are many restaurants and coffee/wine bars. One of these is open quite late at night. There is a parking lot on the main square, which requires a fee. In Amalfi one can find anything one needs: banks, all sorts of shops, a garage, a medical first help centre. Amalfi is a full-fledged little city.
The Amalfi coast is full of exquisite corners, enchanted villages and breath-taking landscapes. Amalfi is of course, the heart of the coast. It can be reached, as said, from Atrani in no time on foot. Walking up to Ravello is a lovely trip, but Ravello can be reached as well by bus in twenty minutes. Positano can be visited by boat in half an hour or by car in 45 minutes. Capri is only one and a half hour away by boat. Sorrento will require two hours by car or by boat in one hour. Pompei and Paestum deserve a whole day. Naples can be reached either by boat or by bus in two hours. Canoes and windsurfing gear can be rented on the beach of Atrani as well as on several beaches along the coast. Boats and sailboats can be rented in Amalfi and in other bigger villages, like Maiori and Minori.
The two levels of Casa Gianni can be rented separately or together in a very flexible way, according to the needs of the guests.
