Spectacular Panoramic Views of Majestic Coastline. Private and comfortable home!

About the property

Ocean panorama & rock crashing surf on private acreage. 3 Bed, 2 Bath sleeps 5

Comfortable, quiet and private without another home in sight. Nestled in a majestic setting on several acres overlooking the Oregon coast. Situated over thundering waves on monolithic rock formations, eye level with migrating birds, watch seasonal whales in the kelp beds below..minimal light pollution offers dark night skies and starry nights with momentary beacons from the Cape Blanco light house and occasional crabbing boats. You might even experience a visit from migrating Rosevelt Elk herds grazing in the yard.

We offer a vacation choice for those who wish to unwind, relax, reflect and leave the rat race behind. Discover all the natural beauty the southern Oregon Coast has to offer from prolific spring flowers to tide pools teaming with sea life and sea birds frolicking along the whitewater surf. Miles of sandy beaches with intriguing rock outcroppings are just minutes away. Our "Banana Belt" climate offers fresh comfortable sea breezes and incredible sunsets. The occasional and mighty shoulder season storms are really fun and exhilarating too. There's always a good time to visit and have another new experience.

Our 3 bedroom 2 bath home is clean, coastal casual and very comfortable. It is set up with a king bed in the master. The master has it's own on-suite with fantastic ocean view! The second bedroom has a queen bed in nautical decor and the third bedroom has a Double Bed in wicker nautical theme. Those both sharing the main bathroom with a tub shower combination.

We have a flat screen TV with Dish network and a Bose surround sound system. There are plush leather recliners for your viewing pleasure. In addition we offer a generously equipped kitchen including a stocked exchange pantry for fun . There is also a large viewing deck with outdoor furniture and a stainless steel BBQ.

We do NOT provide internet service however, Verizon receives an excellent 4G signal in the home so your phone hot spot and Wi-Fi link works great!. That's what we use when visiting if we must be interrupted.... We do not know how other providers will work here but nobody has told us of a reception issue to date.

This home is comfortable for a family or two couples.. Rates reflect an occupancy of two with additional costs for additional guests. A better view, privacy, quiet, comfort and value combination may be impossible to find...seriously, check our reviews and the photos, we do not exagerate or location with area photo's, they are all on-site ....

One of several easily accesable beaches is only 5 minutes away. That beach is sandy and has a six mile walkable area with almost no human traffic on it most of the time! There are around 10 beaches with different topography within 20 minutes drive, or if you are more adventurous hike Sisters Rocks, Humbug, Samuel Boardman, Cape Blanco, Otter Point, Cape Sebastian, Coast Guard Hill or the multitude of other state parks close by.

Our home is not suitable for children under the age of 5 years.

This is not a ‘rental’, it is a home, lovingly cared for, nicely-decorated, comfortable and — thank you! — very clean. The photos here capture some of the utterly stunning views from all the west-facing windows, from the long deck out front, and from the rolling, neatly-mowed lawn stretching down the sloping hillside out front. You can also lay on the king bed and watch amazing sunsets through large sliding glass doors. The panorama takes in the entire stretch of Nesika Beach to the south all the way north to Humbug Mountain, Port Orford Heads and occasionally you even see the blinking light of Cape Blanco Lighthouse. And there’s Sisters Rock right down below, a fun pace to explore (and on windy days the leeward side can be very calm). Of course, the best views here are on sunny days, but even in fog and cloudiness the ocean with its constant crashing of waves below is wondrous. Best of all there’s seclusion and quiet. It doesn’t take long for the knots in your brain to start to unravel. No internet, but cell service is great. (Do I really want to talk on the phone?) If you need it your cell phone makes a wifi hot-spot. (Do I really want to spend that much time on the internet? Phones, internet, noise — all that awaits me when I get back home. Isn’t that how the knots got in my brain in the first place?) Well, we love it here. This is our second stay. We’ve been coming to the Gold Beach area for nearly thirty years — staying both at motels and resorts when the kids were little, and in recent years in vacation homes. This is our number one place in all those years. We hope to keep returning as long as it remains available.

Exceptional stay!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful relaxing stay! Not only was the setting/view breath taking but the house had everything one would need and top quality at that to make your stay amazingly comfortable. So enjoyed having coffee in the early morning as the brilliant stars were just starting to fade away, listening to the sounds of music while watching the ocean waves. Then in the evening, if one wanted to, the TV with the surround system really making those movies seem like we were in the theater while the relaxing in the leather lazy boy. During the day, we visited beaches and the small coastal towns. Kitchen well equited, master bedroom had sound system too and one could look out the slider and see the ocean. Another real plus for me was the attention to detail and cleanliness! The owner called once to make sure we arrived with no problems. Really a blissful couple of days.

Spectacular Views - Beautiful Home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay at Rocky Reef. The location is amazing. We spent many hours just enjoying the property and the panoramic views. It is easily accessible and a short drive to many other attractions in the area. We particularly enjoyed spending time at the beach watching and listening to the surf. One of our favorite things was being able to hear the ocean from the property, whether inside or outside. The home is immaculate and has everything you need. Karl called to make sure we were welcome and was a wonderful host. We truly can't say enough about how relaxing it was to stay at Rocky Reef. We were not ready to leave when our vacation was over. I hope that we will have the opportunity to return. We spent considerable time looking for a rental on the southern Oregon coast. We could not have found anything better.

House, amenities and scenery are amazing!

  • 5 of 5

All of our activities that we had planned were cancelled due to a huge storm that lingured the entire week we were there, but we made the most of it and were able to drive the coast and look at the beaches and rock formations. Loved the smell of pine in the air.
