Liskey Hill, Holiday Home Perranporth, is fantastically located on the road that runs down to the beach in Perranporth. It is just a 5 minute walk down to the beach and the centre of Perranporth.

It has parking on the front drive for one car (details for additional parking can be provided on request), a sunny, gated terrace to the front for al fresco dining and watching the sunset. There is a small grassy garden to the rear. There are sea views from the front bedrooms, overlooking Perranporth beach.

(We have another holiday home in Perranporth listed on Home Away reference 8261221 perranporth bungalow sleeps 8. This is similar in many respects but a little cheaper as views reach only to the dunes. Friday changeover there. Please have a look if your dates unavailable at Liskey hill)

Enter the house into a light and comfy living room, with bay windows and a welcoming wood burning stove. The perfect place to relax after a day on the beach.

The living room leads through into the dining and kitchen area. The dining room has seating for 9 and the kitchen is galley style.

To the back of the house is a useful utility room with washing machine and the 2nd bathroom which comprises a wet room shower and wc.

Upstairs on the first floor is a lovely, spacious double room (with TV) to the front with sea views and to the rear another good sized double room with views over the back of the dunes and the golf course. There is a bunk room at the front of the 1st floor. The first floor family bathroom has a bath and wc.

Up the ship style ladder to the attic room, there is a lovely and light twin bedroom. Please note that the entrance is via a hatch. There are fabulous sea views out of the velux window.

Liskey Hill has an eclectic feel with mismatched shabby chic furniture and crockery. The quirky features create an affordable and warm and inviting place to stay whilst on holiday in Perranporth.

Perranporth is where things started going right for me. After getting married we moved away to follow a career, but bought this house as a buckets and spades holiday home when grandchildren started arriving. We like to keep prices affordable so if matching crockery is important to you please bring your own! ha ha. We have another house in Perranporth, very similar in all respects, but even more affordable as the views stretch only to the sand dunes, so even if your dates look booked send a message

Why Nick Lane chose Perranporth

No one wanted to buy this house, but the location, the town, the distance from attractions like Eden project, Heligan, Falmouth, its closeness to the A30 dual carriageway (6miles) make it a great family holiday house. I had a lot of fun remodelling the ground floor and modernising the house and Jane has created a beachy style which we think works, and hope you will agree.

What makes this house unique

When you wake up in the morning, open the curtains and you are looking at Perranporth's fabulous 2.5mile golden sandy beach with the characteristic Chapel Rock, with it's hidden tide filled swimming pool inviting you. Don't wait too long!

Perranporth is a great holiday destination. There is a sheltered area for small children under the cliffs to the right of the beach bridge where the stream is a natural boundary, they wont be wandering off! It's a surf beach, featured on tv. Plenty of choice of surfing tuition and equipment. Great rock formation to the west and miles of sheltered sand dunes to the East. Tide filled swimming pool on Chapel Rock, which is great for first steps in rock climbing! 2.5 miles of beach means you can always get away from the crowds, and the dog can be let off the lead. Some fabulous pubs and restaurants, and takeaways. A Wetherspoons for feeding the whole family on a pittance, to the famous Watering Hole, an Aussie style bar right on the beach. Attractive gardens and a boating lake for relaxing off the beach, and a recreation ground with play park tennis, and space!

Homely and a great base to explore Cornwall

We had a great time at the cottage finding it comfortable and well equipped. Useful open plan living area meant we could all easily spend time together, loved the wood burner which made for cosy evenings.

Good bedroom options make it suitable for families and groups and its quirkiness only added to the charm. Would we stay there again - YES!

Perfect seaside getaway!

My family & I stayed at Liskey Hill for New Year & had a wonderful time.

The property is fantastically well equipped, very cosy & very clean. The bedrooms are comfy & my daughters loved staying in the top room! Nick was on hand to answer any questions or queries & could not have been more helpful.

The location is wonderful & we had many fantastic days out all over Cornwall.

I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this property & cannot recommend it highly enough.

Dirty, badly maintained, poor quality

The location was fantastic. That’s all the positives I have. The place was dirty, I had to clean so my toddler could play. The toy box had nails sticking out of it. We had to tape the windows up as they didn’t fit properly and the cold was coming in. The back door was Ill. fitting so struggled to lock it. Both the back and front garden and the so called drive were in a terrible state and hadn’t seen maintenance in quite some time. The fires upstairs had hand written warning notes on them not to leave them on too long as they were dangerous.

I wouldn’t stay here again, with a bit of care this could be a lovely holiday home.

Owner's Response: This should be read in light of the fact that the house was left by the reviewer in such an appalling state that my wonderful cleaner resigned in tears. I have left comments how they left the house. They did not get their minimal £50 deposit back, and that is why I think they left a hostile review. The same house with the same cleaner gets good reviews. Look and you will see great reviews before and after their stay - same house same cleaner. They knew I was nearby at the beginning of their stay and could have attended to any so called issues but obviously didn't feel the need to say anything until they lost their deposit. The review contains untruths. Liskey Hill is a great house in a great location and great value. You will not be disappointed.

Good location

Ideal for me and the dog. Close to the village and beach. Quite basic but clean. I would stay again as there was everything that I needed.

Perranporth is located on the North Cornwall Coast, with a large family friendly sandy beach stretching for 3 miles. The beach is very beautiful with sand dunes at the further end to run down and explore, and caves at the other. It is also very accessible, either just a short stroll from Liskey Hill or there is a car park right alongside it.

There is good surf and a choice of surf schools for you to learn with.

The beach allows dogs all year round.

The town runs along the main street from the beach and has plenty of pubs, restaurants, cafes, surf shops and tourist gems to browse.

The famous Watering Hole pub is located on the beach itself and is perfect for a spot of lunch/dinner and there are often music events in the evenings.

On your doorstep you can learn to surf, play golf (crazy golf/pitch and putt or 18 holes), go horse-riding, swim in the natural sea pool, go for stunning coastal walks, visit the boating lake and recreation ground.

There are many tourist attractions nearby to Perranporth with something for everyone.

Holywell Bay Fun Park is just up the road and has plenty of rides to keep everyone entertained.

Lappa Valley Steam Railway is a great day out with 3 railways to explore with steam engines and plenty of other family entertainment.

Wheal Coates – walk the tin mining landscape close to Perranporth for iconic views, perfect for photography and Poldark fans.

The Eden Project is a must see for all those visiting Cornwall. Visit the famous biomes, watch a concert or catch one of their many events that take place throughout the year.

Cleaning Fee £100

Part week (long weekend/ midweek in term time) rates where available are approximately 2/3rds weekly rate.
By booking you are preventing others accessing those dates. If you need to cancel no refund is guaranteed, but we will try and resell your dates and refund what we can.
We have not so far had to charge security deposits, but reserve the right to do so. We have a brilliant cleaner but we do not want to lose her. We expect the house to be left so that it can be returned to the state you found it in in under 4 hrs including washing linen. We do not expect her to sort through your rubbish retrieving crockery that people were too lazy to wash as happened recently. Leaving the house in a considerate condition is in everybody's interest.
