Overview

About the property

Holiday Cottage in Fowey, South Cornwall, England - Attractive one bed cottage

Serendipity as a shop, had an interesting history once upon a time selling and exhibiting the famous Shallow Pool dolls. This delightful hideaway has under gone a total programme of refurbishment and offers a high standard of ultra modern living in a centuries old building. Much care and attention has been spent on the detail converting the property from a shop to a compact one bedroom cottage ideal for couples.

The double glazed front door leads into a well equipped kitchen with storage and coat hanging cupboard, extractor hood, electric hob and oven, fridge with freezer compartment, half size dishwasher and microwave. The living area consists of a modern glass and pebble flame effect wall mounted electric fire, dining table and foldaway chairs, large comfortable settee and wide screen TV. There is attractive white ceramic tiling throughout the ground floor and efficient electric ecosaver radiant panel heating throughout. A flight of stairs lead to a bedroom with double size bed, flat screen TV, slim line storage unit and velux roof window with remote control blind. Additional storage can be found underneath the bed by lifting the hinged base. The bathroom has an unusual barge bath with a shower over, pedestal washbasin, WC and heated towel radiator. This property is a two minute level walk to the car park at Caffa Mill and the Bodinnick car and passenger ferry and a five minute walk to the centre of town, making it an ideal base for a holiday to explore the area.

Voted one of the top three 'best places to live' in Britain by Country Life magazine. Fowey is a bustling sailing port on the Fowey Estuary, set in stunning countryside, with dramatic beaches nearby. Known for its sailing, walks, stunning views, and vibrant streets, Fowey is a gem in Cornwall and inspiration to many of Daphne Du Maurier's books. It is also home to the annual Du Maurier literary festival and the Royal Sailing Regatta. Fowey has an eclectic mix of independent shops and colourful restaurants, pubs etc. Apart from the sailing Fowey has access to some of Cornwall's fantastic beaches, kayaking, stunning walks and within easy reach of Eden project.

For those who may require additional accommodation, the owner of this property also owns the property known as The Shell Seekers which is situated above and to the right of Serendipity. The Shell Seekers is a two bedroom cottage on two floors and is ideal for a family of 4.

Fabulous hide away in Fowey ...

  • 5 of 5

Great little cottage for 2! Had everything we needed for our week visiting family. Super comfy bed! Excellent wifi. If you fancy Kayaking or Suping go and see Fowey River Hire. Fabulous day out with them. Found a great foodie pub in Helford 'Shipwrights' well worth a drive out. Weather was lovely for us too. Can't wait to come back ...

Lovely little cottage in a great location

  • 5 of 5

The cottage was very comfortable and well located for everthing in Fowey. It was well equipped and had everything we needed for our stay, a real bonus was having our dog stay with us too. Fowey itself has lots of lovely pubs and restaurants which are all within an easy walk of the cottage as were local shops for provisions. We enjoyed lots of fabulous walks and exploring local beaches. Experiencing Fowey Regatta week was fantastic, the fireworks were incredible! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we very much hope to return.

The perfect place for a relaxing stay in Fowey

  • 5 of 5

Such a comfortable cottage in a quiet part of Fowey. It's well equipped and very cosy. The house is close to all amenities on foot and is always a pleasure to return to after a day of sightseeing. Fowey has so much to offer and is a gem. We'll definitely be booking another week.

Fabulous home from home

  • 5 of 5

A very cosy and warm home, tastefully furnished to high standards meant we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fowey. The house is right in the heart of Fowey with all the local amenities a couple of minutes’ walk away. There were endless places to eat ranging from high end restaurants to good local pubs. We had wonderful walks along the estuary taking in the views and wildlife, visited lots of nearby beaches and explored the fabulous countryside all around. We had a car with us and found there was plenty of parking near the house. We had a great holiday and will definitely return to this property next time we stay in Fowey.

What a great spot!

  • 5 of 5

It's lovely! Fowey is a great place in its own right with lots of great places to eat and drink and easy to travel around. The house is a quiet refuge of comfort, it is most tastefully set out with everything you need and very clean and cosy. Loved Fowey, loved to house a perfect place for 2 and a dog - we have already recommended it to others.
