This is a lovely cosy period style cottage built in the last fifteen years. It is right in the heart of Hay-on-Wye , which has more second hand bookshops than anywhere else in Britain, and is the venue for the world famous Hay literary festival held in May and June every year. The town also has great antique shops, cafes and restaurants, pubs and shops. The area is famous for walking as the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons are nearby. And with the River Wye on the doorstep, fishing is both available and excellent.

Warm and cozy cottage within easy walk to the town.
We had a lovely stay at Linton Cottage, with my partner our dog and my mother in her 80s. It was excellent place to stay with all the facilities you would need, but also within an easy walk to all the attractions of the town, even my mother made plenty of excursions in to the town. Hay is a beautiful small town with plenty of attractions but also loads of public footpaths which we enjoyed exploring with our dog. We can highly recommend this charming cottage.
Thank you for your lovely review of your stay n Linton Cottage, and I am delighted that you had such a great time in Hay.
All the best, kind regards,
Village cottage in quit court. Lovely home with garden!
Linton cottage is a nice fully equipped cottage near to the centre of Hay on Wye.
Beautiful conservatory and garden. Loved it and the beautiful country of Wales! Would go again!
wonderful short break
we throughly enjoyed our stay at Linton Cottage. The location is perfect in a quiet cul-de-sac just minutes from the town and walks along the river. More than enough room for 4 adults, we particularly enjoyed the conservatory. The cottage is very well equipped and very comfortable. We would definitely recommend the cottage.
A lovely cottage,
This is a very sweet cottage, very central to the town of Hay on Wye, and the fantastic and quirky bookshops.
The house itself has a very large and reasonably well equipped kitchen, a great conservatory as a dining/sitting area, and a sweet courtyard garden complete with pond, resident frog, rose trees and a two seater table and chairs. The sitting room is cosy and comfortable, with books, plenty of information about the area, and a TV, although we didn't use that.
The bedrooms are fine, and the ensuite, while VERY small, is ok, although a couple of extra shelves would be useful. The family bathroom is good, although it would benefit from a shower curtain around the bath, saves a daily floor washing!. Two towels per person are supplied, and are on the small side, so I would suggest that visitors take their own bath sheets if they prefer a bigger towel. Also, if one is likely to go swimming in the fantastically lovely Wye at the Warren, also known as "the Beach", extra towels would be good.
Overall the cottage is lovely, and having a dedicated parking space is a godsend. The cul-de-sac is very quiet, and my granddaughter and I are hoping to stay there again, as is my husband (if he is invited!!).
Last, but by no means least, the owner is really helpful and responsive, which is great.
Myself my wife and little dog really enjoyed our stay at Linton Cottage. It is well equipped and spacious. It is within a few minutes walk of the centre of Hay and the ability to park our car at the Cottage was a bonus. Walks along the River Wye are only a few minutes away by foot which we did everyday.

Linton Cottage is lovely and larger than we imagined. We had a glorious week of sunshine so we were able to sit in the pretty garden or in the conservatory with the doors and windows open. We would also like to comment on the helpfulness of the owner, particularly regarding the fishing!!
Thank you once again.
Hay on Wye is famous for second hand book shops , vintage and antique shops , and food. The beautiful surrounding countryside is ideal for walking , hiking and fishing. Many visitors also canoe on the Wye river.
