Quirky but comfortable
Nice couple of days. Challenges with the cooker hob (already noted by owner in documentation). Couldn't get the towel rail to work. Bed gave us a lovely sleep.
Thank you for your feedback. The towel rail has been repaired. I will have to think of a better explanation for that hob.
Yet again another fabulous stay at the loft. A great base to explore the Suffolk coast. Carters loft is indeed a special little treasure.
Beautifully presented inside.
The interior of the property is excellent, spotlessly clean and comfortable, nb. low ceilings could be tricky if a tall guest. We found the outside area surrounding the loft to be a little unkempt looking and worried about our only fire exit being the narrow wooden steps that were quite slippy in wet weather. We did ask the fire dept to take a look given it's a wooden building situated on top of a wooden community cafe and they gave it the ok apparently just offered advice that the cafe should have a smoke alarm fitted, which the owners promptly did. Our last night was sleepless because of the owners son enjoying a very loud party with 10+ guests. We didn't meet the owner, no telephone numbers were left should there have been a problem between arriving and on day 7 when the owner's daughter arrived, apparently the owner's daughter took this on board and emergency numbers will be left for future guests in the absence of the owner.
Thank you so much for reviewing our property, we are always appreciative when a customer takes time to write about their time spent in The Carter's Loft. We have taken great care in presenting this establishement as a representation of rural life. You will have seen many old renovated barns, always painted in the tradition black, dotted about the countryside. We have taken inspiration from this heritage and this has had great apeal for the majority of our guests. Indeed we have recently been awarded a gold award by Visit England for the third successive year. The style might not have been to your liking, which did surprise us as we have had nothing but praise for the artistry in which the building has been designed, and I am sorry that you did not enjoy it as much as we would have hoped.
When you set something like this up you do of course have to comply with planning and fire regs and it has put our mind at ease that this has all be double checked and know that we are doing the right thing. I would also like to re-assure you that we have annual PAT testing on all the equipment in both parts of the building.I am considered doubling up the anti-slip strips that already go up the steps and to the door.
I apologise for any inconvenience caused by the young people, they live and they learn.
A Real Getaway
Such a cozy little loft, with all the comforts needed. Near many areas of interest, but has a feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. The cafe below the loft is a treasure. Mobile phone signal isn't very good, which was fine by me, but the wifi worked well. Very safe for a dog, as there is a loft outside the apartment, with a gate that can be closed. Lots and lots of public footpaths for walking, and the village is a real community. Would love to go again.
Wow, what a fantastic find. We will be returning . Such a good use of space.
Loved living under an Oak tree. Highly recommend The Carters Loft.
Thank you for coming to stay, sorry we didnt get to meet you in person but look forward to seeing you in the future.
Amazing use of space, perfect Suffolk reteat.
The loft was perfect for our stay and central to all the Suffolk outings you would want to do. The space has been used so well, to fit all home comforts in. The pub up the road does fantastic food and a range of real ales and drinks. Caroline and James leave you coffee, tea and milk to get you started, adding to your stay and homely feel of the loft. Perfect place for a Suffolk retreat.
