Our "home from home" is a relaxing, comfortable villa in a quiet residential location whilst close to nature (pine forest walks ), a bustling Cypriot village & within easy drive of lovely beaches, mountains, historic sites and tavernas.
The villa sleeps up to four. There are 2 bedrooms; a double and a twin bedded room. The bedrooms are air conditioned for your comfort, with fans available in the spacious and airy living area. There are a few steps down from the bedrooms to a large through lounge, dining and kitchen area with 2 sets of sliding patio doors opening on to large sun terrace, with table and chairs. This terrace overlooks the back garden where natural shade is provided by pine trees.
On the development at Pine bay is a full sized tennis court, a large pool with adjacent toddler pool and showers and a club house.
My husband bought this property as a holiday home for the family to use. Then his life changed when he met me again, his sweetheart from university! We can only get out to Cyprus once or twice a year so we decided to let it out rather than leave it empty for too long. We hope our guests will enjoy our villa's location as much as we do.
Our villa is on the edge of the Pine Bay development and near a traditional goat farm and the pine forest. You can hear the pleasant tinkle of goat bells at certain times of the day, which make you feel close to nature. Yet it is only a few minutes walk to the communal pool and tennis court, about fifteen minutes down to Pissouri village and less than twenty five minutes drive from Paphos airport – you would never know!
The area (pine forest) is just so relaxing and Pissouri village a pretty traditional village. The development has combination of visitors and residents (mainly British) who are very friendly and helpful so you feel you are getting a 'real' experience, not just staying in a holiday resort. There is a lot to see in a short distance: villages, vineyards, beaches, and an easy drive into the Troodos Mountains.
We enjoy the relaxing tempo, visiting beaches which don't get overcrowded, driving through the mountain area stopping at small villages and eating good, local dishes! It's always a pleasure to stroll into the village for a nice drink or mese in the village square or to go to one of the tavernas away from the square and be greeted like old friends by the proprietors! Pissouri village retains its traditional character with a pedestrian only central area. It has several family run tavernas and restaurants, a Greek Orthodox Church, a bakery, fruit and vegetable store and butchers, postal agency, banks, internet café and supermarkets. Just on outskirts of village, near the police station, petrol station and pharmacy is a well stocked supermarket.
In the summer the village holds a Cyprus night in the square every Wednesday enjoyed by the locals and tourists alike, making it a true Cypriot experience.
Pissouri Bay is just a 5 minute drive from the village. It has its own selection of tavernas, supermarkets and bars. Water sports are available and the beach boasts a “Blue Flag” status.
Secret Valley Golf Club is 15 minutes away, Aphrodite Hills 10 mins and Tsada Golf Course 20 minutes by car
Cyprus offers a climate of plentiful sunshine throughout the year. The summer months stretch from Mid May through to Mid October guaranteeing you a holiday of almost unbroken sunshine. Even through the winter months of December, January and February, the sun shines for on average 6 hours per day, although it can rain
If you are looking for a 'real experience' in a truly relaxing environment this is it
It is a lovely and see for yourself.
