Zach and Stephanie Fromm, both graduates of Decorah High School, loved growing up in this scenic part of Iowa. They've enjoyed kayaking, canoeing, fishing, biking, camping and hiking in the Decorah area – Their passion for the outdoors is pretty obvious when you set your eyes on this beautiful cabin, located just past Twin Springs Park.
After taking ownership of Twin Springs Lodge in late November, 2014, they were off and running with ideas on how they wanted to share their 'home away from home' and give families the opportunity to adventure, relax and enjoy Northeast Iowa's 'Driftless' Region.
Any and all feedback is welcome! Your opinions matter to us, and we'd love to hear how your stay was or how we can make it better!
Stephanie Fromm purchased this lodge in 2014
It was in a perfect location for Decorah, out in the country to minutes away from down town. Nice clean large lodge with a great deck. We enjoyed the yard and fire ring. Stephanie was easy to work with. I would definitely rent again.
Seven women stayed in the lodge and found it ideal for lots of good conversation in the common areas inside and outside. There was good bed space for sleeping and all we needed in kitchen supplies for breakfasts and snacks. It is conveniently located within walking distance to a restaurant. There is a lot of parking space. We did not need A/C or heat while we were there. One bathroom and shower was a bit of a challenge for 7 people but we made it work. All the guests were interested in coming back to the lodge another time. We would recommend it for similar groups. (The loft bedroom would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues.)
We had a wonderful time at Twin Springs Lodge! We had seven adults and five children in our group, and the house was perfect for us! The kids loved being able to sleep in one room, and there was plenty of room for the adults to sleep downstairs. We also appreciated all the couches in the living room. It was nice having space for everyone to hang out in the same room.
We were also very impressed with Stephanie, the owner. She knew we were flying in from New York, and we also had people coming from Portland, OR, as well as other areas in Iowa (Mason City and Ames). There was a lot of flooding in the days leading up to our stay, and she wasn't sure if the house had been damaged (the road was closed and she couldn't get to it). She assured us that if we couldn't stay in the house, she would find us another place to stay. It ended up being fine, but we really appreciated that she was willing to do that for us.
We would love to come back to Twin Springs Lodge someday!
We had a wonderful
Relaxing time! My husband likes to fly fish and I like to run. The Trout Run Trail was beautiful! The cabin was perfect! It felt like we were out in the woods with all the modern conveniences. We will definitely be back!
A beautiful setting outside, very clean comfortable and lovely inside; with everything we needed(the kids appreciated the candy snacks that were on the counter). We probably picked the worst weekend for weather so fortunately there was plenty of room for us to be together to play games, watch a movie and eat. The convenience to the trout stream, Decorah, Dunning Springs, Ice Cave, fish hatchery, Whippy Dip and great restaraunts (highly recommend McCaffreys accross the street) made it easy to dash out when we had a break between storms and rain. Our family weekend with 7 adults and 5 kids did fine with only one bathroom even with one woman 8 months pregnant. The beds are sooooo comfortable, we all slept well.
This home is very unique and charming. It fit 6 adults and a baby very comfortably and was perfect for our Fathers Day trip. The location and scenery were also very beautiful and quite.
