Quiet location in lovely surroundings. It is very spacious, beautifully decorated and a real home from home. Everything you could possibly need is in the kitchen. Tesco deliver. We used it as a base for our daughter's graduation. 50min drive to Kingston Park Metro and then 20mins into Haymarket. We booked a meal at The Badger in Ponteland for a celebration meal afterwards which was very nice too.
Communication with the owner was quick and helpful.
We would definitely visit again.
Lovely spacious cottage
The cottage is beautiful and deceptively spacious. As a large extended family with dogs, the accommodation was ideal although is very much a retreat rather than a base for exploring the Northumberland coast.
A Great Family Weekend
Seven of us, a three generational family, spent four nights here and had a very comfortable, pleasant mini-holiday. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space if required and a nice big lounge and dining room for get-togethers. You definitely need a car in this area but if you have one there are plenty of attractions to visit round about: Kielder Forest and Lake, Alnwick Castle and Garden, Hadrian’s Wall and various Roman forts plus the Northumbrian coast.
We enjoyed a barbecue in the garden the day we arrived. A gas barbecue is provided and plenty of patio furniture too.
All in all a very pleasant stay!
Beautiful lovely views from the back garden
We are a family of 6 Adults and my 18 Month granddaughters
Plenty of room, all you wish for, well equip kitchen.
Had a lovely time the area was ideal to see all the local sites.
And more what a lovely place Northumberland is.
Stoneycroft cottage was beautiful
The cottage was really lovely. It was much larger than we expected, expanding as we walked through the front door! It was very clean, extremely well equipped with everything one could need, and there was even a bottle of wine and some basic groceries like milk to greet us. All three generations enjoyed the space, could get away from each other if needing a rest, and the children were delighted with the dolls' house and rocking horse and games as well as playing outside, even in the rain, eating a few blackberries , and loved the little bridge too. We were able to sit outside on the decking and enjoy the wonderful views .
A fuse went late on Saturday evening which meant no central lighting upstairs, but plenty of table lamps provided light and we were able to contact the owners who arrived next day to fix it so all was well.
We loved walking in Kielder forest and even the stunning beach at Embleton in the pouring rain where we had a great party for 30 family members! We also enjoyed a good dinner at the friendly Redesdale Arms our first night, and the local shop in Otterburn was pretty well stocked.
We are keen to return and explore some of the many interesting and beautiful places nearby, like Hadrian's Wall, which we didn't have time to visit on this occasion.
Thank you very much for a most comfortable stay. Highly recommended!
We had a wonderful stay. The property is very spacious and well equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a family meal. Lovely to sit out on the decking area in the evening and take in the views and then look up at the stars at night.
The beds were really comfortable and made up to look so pretty and smelt so clean and fresh.
Milk, tea, coffee and a bottle of wine were very welcome finds in the kitchen! Thank you! I recommend the property to everyone.
