About the property

This well appointed light and airy apartment sleeps 4 in comfort, (1 double and 1 twin rooms)

The 1st floor apartment has a large private terrace facing the beautiful Algarve sunsets. in the traditional unspoilt fishing village of Santa Luzia, 3km west of Tavira, generally applauded as being the most beautiful town in the Algarve famed for its Octopus Festival and restaurants.

The apartment is situated at the western end of the village and is a short walk to all the village facilities with numerous restaurants and several local supermarkets, catering for all the family's needs.

The sitting/dining room has seating and dining for 6 with satellite and cable TV, DVD player, stereo and Wifi.

The kitchen is fully fitted, gas cooker, fridge/freezer, toaster, juicer, washing machine etc.

Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms, a large family bathroom, and mezzanine, which has access to the large terrace.

The double bedroom has en suite facilities including a walk in shower and direct access to the terrace.

The second bedroom is a twin, next to the family bathroom which is equipped with a bath/shower.

The terrace faces west and has far views to the Ria and the 14km sand spit island, Isla de Tavira. On the terrace there is a BBQ, sun loungers and large dining table and chairs.

The vast beach on the Isla Tavira can accessed by a 20 min walk along the lagoon and across the floating foot bridge or by water taxi from the village. The Isla Tavira forms part of the Ria Formosa National Park, a wild life sanctuary, home to many wading birds, famed for its salt marshes and lagoons

Excellent location

Had a lovely time with some lovely restaurants close by.

The beach is amazing, beautiful white sand you can either take a little train to it or a lovely walk maybe 20mins. There was everything we needed in the flat to make a comfortable stay.

Beautiful apartment in a beautiful place

We had a wonderful stay in Santa Luzia, the apartment was a perfect size for the four of us and really clean and comfortable and Roy and Jo were so helpful, it really made a difference. The roof terrace is such a treat, it's so nice sitting out on a sunny evening or enjoying breakfast al fresco (what's Portuguese for Al fresco..?)

It's really close to the waterfront, catching the ferry to terra estreita beach or eating out. Santa Luzia is a gorgeous little town with a lot of nice bars and cafes and restaurants. Tavira is a 3km walk, there are supermarkets and shops there but it's a really lovely place, stunning to look at with a fascinating history. we walked there and got a taxi back a few times, you could walk both ways but it was very hot and a cab is c.€5, much cheaper than the UK. Tavira is well worth exploring and with several visits.

If you were unlucky with the weather there isn't much to do indoors locally, so in that situation you might want a car but generally if it's pretty warm then you'll be very happy at the beach or Tavira, and the apartment is the perfect family friendly place to do it from.

Hübsche und gut gelegene Unterkunft

Die Wohnung ist sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet. Im ersten Stock befinden sich ein breiter Flur, eine große Küche (samt Gasherd, Backofen, Kühl-Tiefkühlschrank-Kombination, Mikrowelle, Toaster, Kaffemaschine und Waschmaschine) und ein helles und geräumiges Wohn- und Esszimmer (mit großem TV und DVD-Player). Im Stockwerk darüber befinden sich ein großes Doppelschlafzimmer mit eigenem Badezimmer (Dusche, WC), ein großes Schlafzimmer mit zwei Einzelbetten und ein weiteres Badezimmer mit Dusche/Badewanne/WC. Alle Zimmer sind mit geräumigen Einbauschränken und mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Vom zweiten Stockwerk hat man Zugang zur großen Dach-Terasse mit gemauertem Grill, großem Holztisch mit sechs Stühlen, zwei Liegen und großem Sonnenschirm. Letzterer ist auf dem Photo zu erkennen. Da die Brüstung gemauert und auch nicht zu niedrig ist, lässt sich dort auch im Januar ein windgeschütztes Sonnenfleckchen finden. Zwei Radiatoren und Wolldecken erleichtern einen Aufenthalt im Winter. Von der Terrasse hat man einen schönen Blick. Er reicht bis zur Lagune. Das Haus liegt zwar an einer Straßenecke, aber viel Verkehr ist dort nicht. Die eine Straße ist eine Einbahnstraße, über die man in zwei Minuten zu Fuß den Bäcker samt angeschlossenem Café und den kleinen Supermarkt erreicht. Santa Luzia ist ein hübscher Fischerort (bekannt für den Octopusfang) in der Nähe der malerischen Stadt Tavira. Hotelbauten oder riesige Appartmentanlagen findet man dort nicht. Von der Wohnung ist man zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad (der Fernradweg Ecovia, der zu großen Teilen durch das Naturschutzgebiet Ria Formosa geht, führt durch Santa Luzia durch) in wenigen Minuten am hübschen Hafen von Santa Luzia und der Uferpromenade mit ihren Lokalen. Der Strand ist über eine Brücke über die Lagune zu erreichen, so dass man nicht auf einen Fährdienst angewiesen ist. Von der Brücke geht man ca einen Kilometer zu Fuß oder nutzt die kleine Bahn. Die Brücke ist von der Wohnung problemlos mit dem Fahrrad oder dem Auto zu erreichen. Auch zu Fuß sind die etwa zwei Kilometer machbar. Der Strand ist einmalig. Unberührte Natur, so weit das Auge reicht.

On the first floor there is a wide hall, a large kitchen (including gas stove, oven, fridge-freezer combination, microwave, toaster, coffee machine and washing machine) and a bright and spacious living and dining room (with large TV and DVD player) , On the floor above there is a large double bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower, toilet), a large bedroom with two single beds and another bathroom with shower / bathtub / WC. All rooms are equipped with spacious fitted wardrobes and air conditioning. From the second floor you have access to the large roof terrace with brick barbecue, large wooden table with six chairs, two chairs and a large parasol. The latter can be recognised in the photo. As the parapet is bricked and not too low, you can find a wind-protected sunspot there in January. Two radiators and blankets make it easy to stay in winter. From the terrace you have a nice view. It reaches to the lagoon. The house is on a street corner, but there is not much traffic. One street is a one-way street, where you can walk to the bakery and café and small supermarket in two minutes. Santa Luzia is a pretty fishing village (known for the Octopus Catch) near the picturesque town of Tavira. Hotel buildings or huge apartment complexes can not be found there. From the apartment you can walk or bike (the bike path Ecovia, which goes largely through the nature reserve Ria Formosa, passes through Santa Luzia) in a few minutes at the beautiful harbour of Santa Luzia and the waterfront promenade with its pubs. The beach can be reached via a bridge over the lagoon, so you do not have to rely on a ferry service. From the bridge you walk about a km on foot or use the small train. The bridge can easily be reached from the apartment by bike or car. Even on foot, the about two km are feasible. The beach is unique. Untouched nature as far as the eye can see.'
