This modern villa is set in a relaxing location with beautiful mountain views and a short walk to the beach. The villa is well equipped with all the comforts from home. It has a large garden which has been beautifully planted surrounded by a volcanic wall. It has a large rectangular swimming pool (7x3) with Roman steps. The master bedroom has a super kingsize bed, fitted wardrobes and ensuite bathroom. Bedroom 2 has a kingsize bed and fitted wardrobes. Bedroom 3 has a single bed, it also has fitted wardrobes. The lounge has patio doors opening onto the terrace where you have an alfresco dining area, seating for 6. Also there are 6 sun loungers around the pool and a built in barbeque. There is also a small table by the pool seating 4 people. The lounge is fully equipped with Internet TV, including all SKY channels, sports & movies, DVD player & films, CD etc. The air conditioning unit is also located in the lounge with a pay as you go meter. There is a Playstation 2 with games and a library of books for guests to read.
There are numerous restaurants overlooking the sea in Playa Blanca. A short walk along the seafront is Puerto Rubicon where you can enjoy top quality restaurants by the marina.
Places Of Interest.: Tias is famous for its wine, producing some very good quality red & white wines.
Costa Teguise has an 18 hole golf course set among the volcanic hills. It is also a very good place to go wind surfing as the seas there are very rough and it is the windy part of the island. Also there is a great fun- filled waterpark there too.
Puerto Del Carmen to me is the nightlife capital of Lanzarote, there are loads of clubs, bars and restaurants on about a mile and a half strip.
There are lots of trips to go on such as : the national park (that's a good one), a quad bike safari, a booze cruise on a big boat, Teguise market, camel riding, wine tasting, a glass bottom boat trip, you can even take a trip to Fuerteventura with your car or as a foot passenger. It only cost 45euros for 1 car and 2 persons the last time i went.
We found the best tour company to use is First Minute Travel, the reps are English speaking, they really look after you especially if you have young children and they friendly too.
Car Hire: Car Hire is not essential but we would recommend it as a taxi from the airport is about 45 euros to Playa Blanca and 45 euros back to the airport. Car hire from the airport works out between 85 to 150 euros for the week which we think is value for money. You could have your keys to your car by the time your suitcases have arrived on the carousel. Then you don't have to Que for a taxi. It only takes about 25 minutes to reach our villa from the airport and it is a very easy journey. Should you hire a car we can provide you with directions. Having a car gives you much more flexibility, and there is so much to see and do, just a short journey away. The car hire company we would recommend is Autoreisen, if you search car hire in Lanzarote on your search engine they will come up. We always use them as good value, reliable and new cars. Avis & Hertz are twice the price. On the other hand if you don't want to drive we can arrange transfers to and from the villa at an extra charge.
Night Life: Playa Blanca is one of the quieter resorts on the island but there is still plenty to do if you are a night owl. In Punta Limones which is by the ferry port, is Legends Karaoke Bar, which is a small and friendly bar open till 2am 6 days a week. If you want to stay out later and have even more fun then go to Roof Tops, which is upstairs from Legends and stays open till 4am. There are a few bars which do live music now, we think the Irish Anvil Bar is the best as Gary plays his guitar there 5 nights a week. For all those sports fans there are many bars showing live matches. Popeye's is on the same level as Legends and has 20 screens and can show 4 matches at any one time. Also Mollys Bar, Barneys Bistro & Jungle Bar at Dorada beach have very good live music most nights. Most restaurants have a see view and there are plenty to choose from. You can eat anything from Fish, Steak, Chinese, Spanish Traditional, Indian to ham, egg and chips.

About Dave or Karen
Hi, Dave and I fell in love with the Island of Lanzarote after several visits and we were lucky enough to be able to buy a holiday home there. We have owned our villa since 2006 and have furnished it to a high end modern taste. We regularly visit the villa to carry out maintenance and replace worn items. We are very lucky to have had regular guests who have respected the villa very well. We live in the UK and in 2008 got married in Lanzarote in Marina Rubicon. We know the island extremely well and can advise our guests on most aspects. We are very proud of all the lovely feedback we have had from guests, many of whom have returned to the the villa. We feel we can provide the personal touch having good contacts on the Island who help us out with the little extras that make a difference.
Dave or Karen purchased this Villa in 2006
Why Dave or Karen chose Playa Blanca
We chose Playa Blanca because of its ideal location with regard to beaches and tourist attractions. It is the more family orientated resort and has a very safe and relaxing feel to it. We loved the new Marina Rubicon with its cafes and bars sitting on the waterfront. The beaches are fantastic in this area, the best on the island. It is not an overcrowded resort and unlike Puerto del Carmen when you go out at night you don't get hassled by anyone. It is very close to the national park and the backdrop of these volcanoes is breathtaking. It is ideally placed to catch the ferry across to Feurteventura for island hoping. It is a very relaxed and safe resort and alot of investment has gone into this resort to bring it to the beautiful standard it is today.
What makes this Villa unique
Mainly the independence of being able to do what you want when you want. There are no restrictions of when you eat or what time you can go in the pool. There is no fighting for a sunlounger and no sharing the pool with everyone else! Its walking distance from the town so you don't need to drive to restaurants and worry about who's going to drive! You can cater for yourselves in terms of food and drink so you can save money this way. We love having a BBQ in the evening and the quality of meat out there is fantastic. It's nice to be able to play your music and relax around the pool without an interruptions or noise. You don't have to get dressed to have a coffee in the morning, just flick the kettle on and watch the sunrise in your pajamas! The sun is over the pool all day, brill!

Just had a week at Villa Ripley, lovely private heated pool and everything you need is there, home from home!
Hi guys, glad you enjoyed your holiday and hopefully see you again in the future.
It was okay
Had some issues with the property of which some were resolved during our stay and some were not which had a detrimental effect on our visit, the main one being a heated pool that was only heated for two days out of the seven we stayed , the pool being the main reason we chose this particular villa.
This property was very comfortable with fulfilled all our requirements.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the villa. The pool area was excellent and spacious. There were also, plenty of books to read and videos to watch and also the tv had BBC. You definitely need to hire a car. It is also a good idea to have a torch available if you arrive in the dark as it is difficult to see the key box by the door. Overall an excellent stay.
We stayed at villa Ripley for the second time and remembered why.
The constant barking of the neighbours dogs! The pool was cold and 2 days in started making gurgling noises as the pool guy said there was a leak!
Refilled the pool with a hose was the response. The showers in the main bathroom are ok but the head keeps falling down. There is a coin box in the living room for the heating/ AC that requires 1euro coins. The villa is 20 yards from the main bins so easy to get rid of your rubbish. The patio doors to the pool don’t open and have to be lifted or they scrape the tiles in the living room. When we left my partners purse was left with multiple bank cards and I emailed the property manager asking if found? The response was “no, but we’ve took photos of the property as the kitchen wasn’t cleaned” ( basically kitchen not cleaned)
My wife had food poisoning and we left at 5 am for our flight.
Hi Mark, Thanks very much for your review. Let me start by just saying my wife usually responds to the reviews but on this occasion i thought i would word it.
You start off by saying that this was your second stay at our lovely villa. Well if i had stayed at an awful villa i wouldn't have returned!! My villa is fully booked again this year all by returning guests who had a great time and who give me 5 out of 5, you said you had a great time the last time you came so i don't get it to be honest.
You say about the constant barking of dogs next door? Yes next door did have 2 lovely dogs, they moved over a year ago to northern spain.
The pool is heated to 25 degrees, im sorry if the pool was not like a bath and yes it does make gurgling noises, thats the water moving around in the pipes to the pool heater and back into the pool, it's always done it.
You point out that there is a coin box in the lounge for the air con, there is, well spotted. This does take 1 euro coins for the air con to work.
The villa is set on a residential estate and there are bins dotted around, ours are about 200yards from the villa in the hammerhead of the road and they are positioned conveniently for people to walk the rubbish too which you obviously didn't but i'll get to that later!
You do have to lift the patio door just slightly as it does scrape on the floor, the builder didn't tile the floor level and it just happens to be where you open the doors, i do hope this didn't cause too many problems on your holiday.
Lesley has now found your wifes purse, you actually left it in the safe.
I think i have answered most of the points you made and now here's my response.
We have owned Villa Ripley for 10 years, it has always been looked after to a very high standard, we now have a lovely couple called Lesley and Nadar looking after it for us, its cleaned to a very high standard and is spotless upon my guests arrival and usually left tidy when guests leave!
I was disgusted to see how you left the kitchen, never in 10 years have we ever had this from a guest, you slept in every bed at the villa, moved furniture around in the villa???? Why would you do this??? Is this how you live in your own house??? And is that how you leave your kitchen at night??
DISGUSTING is all that comes to my mind, i was heart broken when i saw the photos, you should be ashamed of yourselves. It wasn't my fault your wife was ill and it wasnt my fault your wife left her purse.
Dave, we found Villa Ripley just perfect.
We had a very relaxing holiday in your villa Ripley, I can’t think of anything to suggest to improve it, we had a lovely relaxing holiday. Playa Blanca is a perfect location for us.
A special mention to Lesley & Nader for their help & friendship they ensured we had everything we needed & the villa was very clean and tidy on our arrival.
Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your villa.
It was a pleasure having you stay at villa ripley and great to hear you had a fantastic time.
Lesley and Nadar are a lovely couple and I'm pleased they helped you out.
Hope to hear from you again in the near future.
Lovely relaxing holiday
Have just got back from a lovely stay at Villa Ripley. The villa was comfortable and in a good area, we did feel a car was necessary as restaurants and shops are a fair distance away (we liked that though as it meant the area was quiet and peaceful). The pool was great and it was very handy having a washing machine. Thank you Dave and Karen for letting us stay in your lovely villa
Hi Amy, glad you enjoyed your stay at villa ripley, and hope to see you again in the future.
Playa Blanca is the most southern resort on the island and subsequently benefits from the maximum sunshine available. Playa Blanca has an excellent selection of bars and restaurants located on the seafront and around the old harbour. There is also a pedestrianized town with many shops. There are 3 beaches in Playa Blanca. Playa Flamingo is to the right of the harbour with a sandy beach. A small beach in the main town and Playa Dorada is the closest to our villa, just a 15 - 20 minute walk. It runs for about half a mile with soft sand and clear blue waters ideal for snorkeling. You can also hire jet skis and go on the banana boat from there. From Playa Blanca you can walk along the beautiful seafront promenade which leads you to the new International Marina Rubicon with stylish shops/bars & bowling alley. Just a 5 minute drive away are the Papagayo beaches, these are the best beaches on the island with their clear blue waters ideal for scuba diving or just soaking up the sun.
Other Activities: Bowling
