Cozy space to commune after wandering the superb neighborhood!

The Orchid Bungalow sits on one of the prettiest canals in the historic Venice Canals. It is one of the very best areas to stay on the Westside, if not all of L.A. as you are close to the beach & can walk everywhere.

**Please note that our neighbor's construction may start mid Nov. 2017. This may mean that there is construction work going on next door (during legal LA building hours). If so, a 10% construction discount will be offered. No further discounts or cancelations past regular cancel policy listed here will be offered.**

A block & half walk to Venice Beach, Venice Boardwalk, Venice Pier & Abbot Kinney Blvd.

This is an original bungalow built in 1950 yet renovated twice extensively with 2 bedrooms, full bathroom & kitchen & 1 parking spot.

Situated on what 'they' say is the most beautiful canal due to its mature trees, the house is tucked in between a large Chinese Maple & Eucalyptus, almost @ a 'T' view where our canal connects with Eastern Canal.

Other than the occasional duck fight, you will sleep great at night as there is no through traffic.

Canal front french doors open out onto your private stone deck & canal, while a side dutch entry door adds to the open airy feeling.

Full kitchen has dishwasher, a washer/dryer, gas stove/oven, garbage disposal & roomy fridge with ice maker.

High speed power boost wi-fi throughout. Skylights provide great day light in most rooms.

Both bedrooms have queen beds with memory foam toppers & 100% cotton min. 300 thread count linens. A/C & Heater split units make both bedrooms comfy no matter the weather.

Master bedroom also has full futon for 1 adult or 2 small children.

Atrium between 2 bedrooms adds to privacy & could be excellent small 'yoga cave' due to hard wood floor & skylight.

All gates lock to provide security & the boat dock from which to dangle your feet completes the experience!

A magical cozy rejuvenating space.

Location, film shoots, parties or get togethers of more than 2 people above the number of guests are to be arranged prior to arrival, at the discretion of Landord, with separate location/event agreement depending on crew, equipment. # of people involved. Legal action and/or fines will will be levied for any unauthorized filming or commercial shots of the property or use of the property for commercial purposes.

What makes this bungalow unique

Our Bungalow is located on what is left of the canals Mr. Abbot Kinney created when he built Venice in the early 1900s.

When the city acquired Venice in 1933 the canals had fallen into disarray & all of the canals were filled in save for the 6 that remain here today. In 1990 the entire canal area was beautifully renovated and is now one of the most valuable areas in LA County.

We are an easy walk to Abbot Kinney blvd. fabulous restaurants & shopping, the beautiful Venice Pier, and the crazy Venice Boardwalk with all of its famous street performers, etc.

Bike rentals are close by and we are 10 minutes to LAX, right off Venice Blvd. with ease to Beverly HIlls, Hollywood & downtown LA.

You can walk or bike most anywhere for whatever you may need~ store, bank, dry cleaners, etc..

So close to all but so far from the maddening crowds...a true sanctuary when you need one from busy LA while either working or sightseeing.

Important note for visitors not from the area: There is a big difference between places actually on the canals versus Venice Beach or the walk streets proper or off Abbot Kinney Blvd. The canals are a small self-contained area with limited car access which creates a noise buffer & makes it more difficult for the general craziness of Venice to intrude. Hence the price difference from other rentals that are grouped together here. The vacation renter is highly advised to run a quick safety check on the area in which they are renting as neighborhoods here very significantly.

Surprise.

Every time you go somewhere new, it's a lottery.

Sometimes you win but not always. This has been our best win ever.

We found a gem!!

Just a relatively short ride from the airport, especially for LA..... bonus

The accommodation was not only very comfortable.

It had everything we needed and the owner was charming.

When Mike (the owner) called to check if everthing was ok, he was very helpful and genuine.

We asked him for some local restaurant and food suggestions,

Loved the variety of his recommendations.

Only had time for a couple of his list, here were our favourites.

Great food all within walking distance, We appreciated the insight.

The location couldn't have been better.

Also easy walking to Venice Beach and everything that goes with that.

Muscle Beach, The Boardwalk etc etc

Do yourself a favour, Rent a bike and ride a up and down the coast ......Marina Del Ray, Santa Monica.

A real highlight.

If you are a walker they are within walking distance, but if time is an issue and you want to cover more locations the bikes are an awesome option.

The accommodation was actually so comfortable we felt like we didn't need to go anywhere (unlike some other places we have stayed).... great to just relax especially if you just finished a long flight like we did.

What a great mix, if you are motivated or not this accommodation covers both .....

I personally enjoyed recognizing a few movie location in the area.

Beverly Hills and Malibu are reasonable uber ride away.

So much to do and see in LA .

Staying here was holiday in it's self, regardless of all the attractions!!!

A PERFECT setting for recharging our batteries and then getting out and about to reduce the number of items on the bucket list.

Wish we had more time as always.

That's the case with every vacation.

Very clean and very well appointed. Maria had the kitchen stocked and all we had to get what is cream for the coffee. Very lovely place to stay and we will definitely stay there again in the future.

This includes the deck and parking area. Full security deposit will be forfeited & guest will be asked need to leave immediately.
Third party bookings must disclose & provide name, number & email of guest @ time of booking. Occupant will be required to sign rental agreement. Non-Registered guests not allowed onto the property unaccompanied.
Unless specified prior to arrival no day guests allowed.
Once confirmed, guests will be sent arrival info one-two weeks prior.
Guest is asked to provide cell phone # that will be used while on property for emergency purposes & to contact owner immediately of any issues with the property and not ignore something that needs to be fixed ora attempt to fix themselves.
Check in is 4 p.m. Check out is 11 a.m.
Owner reserves right to charge $100- fee per any portion of hour, per hour, past check out time guest remains on property.
Location shoots or any events will require full disclosure at the time of booking as well as signature of location rental agreement & additional location fee. Any commercial photos taken here remain the property of the owner unless otherwise specified in location/event agreement.
