Beautiful Log Cabin, 4 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. Fully equipped and ready for your stay with full kitchen, large living area and sitting sun room. The large fire place and scenic lake views from the large main gathering area offers a great opportunity for viewing the sunrises. The dock and beach area are great for fishing, swimming. The interior and exterior make you feel at home in the north woods of Wisconsin. Relax by the evening campfire next to the lake shore.

The interior of the cabin blends the warmth of the old rustic feeling with the comforts of modern décor and feeling of total relaxation. Located within blocks of the Wisconsin ATV/Snowmobile trails of the Indianhead region of northern Washburn County. Shell Lake has some of the best Walleye, Bass, Northern Pike and Muskie fishing around. If fishing on open waters or on top of the ice, the fishing will not disappoint you.

Shell Lake is a 2600 acre lake known for it's clean water & sandy beaches. There is a public boat landing in town, so you can bring your boat along.

For pontoon boat rentals contact Matt Dryden, Shell Lake or AAA Sports in Spooner. Both groups will deliver boat to Shell Lake Public Boat Launch & meet you there. Includes life jackets. Past renters have used each of these companies.

Please note: A City of Shell Lake ordinance limits the maximum # of occupants in a rental home to (10) persons and (4) vehicles.

Absolutley amazing!

The owner, Bryan was so accommodating. He even stopped in shortly after we arrived to double check the stove and give us information in case any issues popped up. He reassured us, he was only a phone call away.

The home is equipped with everything one would need. Each room is decorated in the cabin life décor, which we loved and found very comfy. The porch was used on a daily basis. First, one couldn't resist enjoying a cup of coffee with such a beautiful view of the lake. Next, we found it was the perfect place to let the little ones play while others continued to enjoy sleeping in. Plenty of bathrooms for our family of 6 adults and three small children. We enjoyed activities on the water during the day and campfires at night. Our family loves to play board games and play cards, which was easy to do with the big, sturdy dining room table.

The kitchen is set up so nicely. We prepared our meals and set each meal along the high counter and let all walk through and be seated at the big dining room table. Plenty of room for high chairs for the little ones, so they could be included as well.

It is easy to settle in and enjoy. Felt like our home away from home.

We highly recommend staying here. We will be back!

Thanks Bryan for sharing your home with us.

Two Thumbs Up!

  • 5 of 5

Just returned from a delightful stay at this beautiful log “cabin” (truly more of a lakehouse!) with family and friends. The home itself is warm and welcoming (but without sacrificing that “wow” factor)! Open layout, beautiful exposed log beams and upscale but inviting “up north lodge” furnishings and decor. Main level: 1 large queen bedroom with curtained french doors directly off the living area (with it's own sink), a ¾ bath (sink in one area and toilet & shower through pocket door) and large ½ bath (sink & toilet). Upper Level: 3 bedrooms, including 1 queen bedroom and 2 singles bunk bedroom across from it. The master suite on this level (at the other end of the upper floor) has a king bed, is spacious yet private with striking lake views, a walk-in closet and it's own ¾ bath with beautifully tiled shower (although this is the only bathroom on the upper level). This log home is well maintained and has a “new” feel, with beautiful hardwood floors (slate in the living area), impressive two story stone fireplace (gas with working remote!) with a one-of-a-kind hand-carved mantle. The details that sometimes can make (or break) an enjoyable vacation seemed to be covered: central a/c works well, lots of hot water, ample firewood, back-up propane tank for the grill, padded seating at the dining table and kitchen island, stainless steel side by side refrigerator/freezer that really keeps things cold & makes lots of ice, quiet dishwasher, filtered water system in kitchen, new (or must be nearly new) washer & dryer, comfortable beds, lots of electrical outlets both inside and out and incredibly fast wi-fi even with 8 of us online simultaneously! Outside, our 18 month old granddaughter loved playing in the shallow sand-bottomed warm water swim area. The beach was packed sand. No Swimmer's Itch or algae issues! :) The cabin is located on a relatively shallow bay, protected from the larger waves on the main lake when it was windy. Restaurants and shopping are nearby. Took long walks and biked on the beautiful leaf-canopied paved back roads, spotting eagles and deer daily – often in the yard! Enjoyed the pontoon. Boathouse area by the lake is small but very clean, new-feeling and inviting, with 2 twin beds, a ceiling fan, it's own air conditioner (and heater? – not sure about that) and sliding glass door with good quality screen. Nice brick firepit, great stars – even saw Northern Lights! Surprisingly few mosquitoes :) Great responsive owner!

Happy Renters

  • 5 of 5

Our family rented this lake home the week of June 21st and had a wonderful time. Upon arrival we were greeted by 2 relatives of the owner, which was a very nice touch. They showed us around and made us feel very welcome! The grounds and home are beautiful and very well maintained. Everything we needed was there....our grandchildren loved the sandy beach for swimming, along with all the fish they caught off the dock. Shell Lake is beautiful, quiet and pristine. The owner was very responsive to our e-mails and questions...he wanted to make sure we had an enjoyable week. Our grandchildren did not want to leave and the adults felt the same way., Beautiful place that we would highly recommend!
