A beautiful and quiet villa location.

We spent our two week vacation at Claude's villa, which sits high up on the western side of a forested hill, overlooking Lake Carces. It's a truly tranquil location, with a superb view down to the lake itself.

The villa is a split-level building, with the kitchen, living area, bath/shower room, wc and a bedroom on the upper level, while below is further sleeping accommodation comprising one double bedroom, a further "open-plan" type double bed room and two further single beds. There's also an excellent shower room and further wc

The two floors levels aren't connected by an internal staircase - you have to go outside between the two - but it represented no problem to us at all.

The villa itself is extremely well equipped, especially in the kitchen and the living room boasted a large (something in the region of 50 inch) TV screen, with satellite TV and a DVD player. There is also wi-fi, although worth pointing out the connection was intermittent (for whatever reason). Both floors are well serviced by modern air conditioning units.

The upper patio area (as pictured) is where we ate most of of our meals, with the fantastic view over the lake in the background. The swimming pool is on the level below and where our 16 and 14 year old boys spent most of their time.

The villa is around a 15 minute drive away from the main town of Carces and a further 10 minutes or so onto places such as Cotignac and Entrecasteaux.

It's worth pointing out that the villa is located around 1.3 miles off the road which runs around Lake Carces and this 1.3 mile stretch is not in great condition (especially the last 70 meters or so, which is akin to a pot-holed track). It's not an issue for most modern day cars, but not somewhere to bring a low-slung sports car!

In summary, it's a hugely relaxing villa to enjoy and certainly covered the varied requirements we had as a family of four with two boys. The location is simply stunning, matched by the weather we enjoyed and the wildlife we were fortunate enough to have seen while there. If only I could work from there...

Très bien située

Nous avons passé trois semaines en juin 2013 dans cette villa relativement isolée, très bien située pour qui aime la tranquillité et la proximité de la nature. Attention si vous venez avec une grosse voiture, la notre était une Citroën C5, l'entrée du jardin est étroite et difficile de faire demi-tour sur le chemin qui mène de la départementale D24 à la maison (de façon générale, les chemins sont étroits...)

Nous étions, ma femme et moi, accompagné de notre bébé de 9 mois et de mes parents.

La terrasse surplombant le lac de Carcès est magnifique et permet de prendre son petit déjeuner et ses repas dans un cadre magnifique tout en surveillant bébé.

La piscine est très bien, très agréable pour y paresser ou y nager.

La maison est séparée en deux, une partie basse et une partie haute ne communiquant pas par l'intérieur, idéal pour passer des vacances indépendantes (deux familles, amis ou adolescents...)

Cependant la cuisine est situé en haut et les sanitaires sont mieux agencés dans la partie haute.

Nous avons dormi en haut et en bas et finalement nous avons préféré la partie haute, la chambre y est très agréable.

Nous avons ma femme et moi péché dans le lac de Carcès et c'est un vrai plaisir de manger le soir des fritures de perches (soleil pour la plupart), ablettes, poissons chat...

Beaucoup plus difficile d'attraper des carpes (spécialité du lac, pouvant peser jusqu'à 25-30 kg voir plus...) - il faut être bien conseillé, montage particulier, amorçage et pêche de nuit - attention aux autorisations, matériels et permis de pêche...

Il y a aussi des brochets, mais je n'ai pas eu de touches.

M Laherrere, le propriétaire est très sympathique et nous a bien aidé par ses conseils et en nous prêtant son matériel de pêche.

Il est réactif et serviable pour tous les problèmes que vous pourriez rencontrer.

Carcès, Cotignac, Le Val, Entrecasteaux... lieux très dépaysants et petits paradis pour boire un apéro ou diner dehors... attention tout de même aux touristes très nombreux, même si en juin c'est tout à fait supportable ! La région est aussi très prisée de nos amis anglais qui y ont acheté depuis longtemps, Provence donc mais accent anglais de rigueur assez souvent.

La campagne est magnifique, en particulier en allant vers l'abbaye du Thoronet sur la D79 vers Combecave... nombreux domaines viticoles à visiter ;)

Nous avons passé de magnifiques vacances, reposantes et assez actives.

En ce qui concerne les Youles ,nous avons eu un printemps exceptionnellement pluvieux ,ce qui a favorisé l'apparition de ces petits mille-pattes . Aussi, j'ai fait doubler l'entretien de la piscine ,soit 2 fois par semaine; il est à noter que dès que le temps redevient sec ils disparaissent . Au plaisir de vous recevoir à nouveau,ainsi que vos amis .

SUPERBES VACANCES

Le cadre est superbe à découvrir pour les amoureux de la nature et en recherche de calme et d'espace.

L'agencement et la propreté de la villa sont parfaits et l'on se sent bien

dans les lieux.

Nous venons d'effectuer ce séjour découverte et détente dans ce décor

très sympa qui nous a permis de nous ressourcer en famille.

Nos enfants ont eu la joie de vivre sans contrainte, en parfaite liberté.

Nous avons tous su apprécier pleinement les joies de la pêche au bord

du lac, sans oublier les ballades et randonnées multiples.

Je tiens à préciser que le propriétaire nous a réservé un accueil

chaleureux, attentif et à l'écoute du bien-être de ses locataires (plans,

cartes, guides touristiques à notre disposition).

Nous avons passé des vacances extras que nous recommandons vivement.

ENCHANTES DE NOTRE SEJOUR

C'est un lieu magique et parfaitement adapté pour des vacances sereines au calme et sans vis-à-vis ... en toute liberté !

La villa se situe dans un havre de paix authentique dominant le lac de Carcès avec une vue fantastique, de l'espace et un bel environnement. A cette époque avancée nous avons profité pleinement de la piscine.

Maison idéalement située pour découvrir cette région très touristique....où nous reviendrons en 2012 car n'avons pas eu le temps de tout voir et visiter !

Tout était parfait : location très propre et bien équipée (comme chez soi...) et propriétaire accueillant et sympathique ... Bravo ... nous recommandons cette villa très conviviale. LAURENCE

Since CARCES located 17 km north-east of Brignoles (the largest city in the area), you can discover all the typical villages and seaside towns:

CARCES (3180 inhabitants) is a small French town located in the Var department at 140 m altitude in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Its inhabitants are called the Caries.

The river Argens, the river Caramy are the main rivers that cross the town of CARCES. The town is close to the Regional Natural Park of Verdon about 17 km. Shops and Downtown are located about 7 km from my villa.

Located in the heart of the department of Var, the town of CARCES is an integral part of what we usually call Provence Verte. It is located at the confluence of the coastal river Argens and its tributary Caramy.

The woods and forests represent about half of the area of ​​the municipality.

The village is located on a promontory, and from wherever we come, we discover the village at the end of a turn. The effect of surprise, the beauty of the place, its natural environment, its architecture and its ancestral building, in a green setting, can not leave the visitor indifferent.

The town has important assets and has preserved as a whole the urban heritage of past centuries that makes its beauty and wealth.

A rich landscape and architectural heritage: the medieval center, the ruins of the castle, a set of buildings located on the outskirts of the village and natural areas (including vineyards). This heritage is a testimony to the rural lifestyles of the last hundred years.

The old village of Carcès winds in a spiral around narrow streets that will make you discover the houses with glazed tile facades, real works of art very characteristic of the Var and very rare.

The other attraction of the town is undoubtedly its magnificent lake in a narrow LA, sinuous 100 ha and the 6 rivers that flow there with more than 8 kilometers of circumference built between 1934 and 1939 and which supplies with water drinking the agglomeration Toulon.

CARCES is also a hotbed for fishing in fresh water, which is why The lake of Carcès is very popular with fishermen because of its calm waters and its shady banks.

It is a resort that attracts tourists who discover the charms of Provence, far from the trepidation of the coast. Its surroundings have remained to this day preserved from any urbanization. TERRE DE RANDONNEES

The town is crossed by an equestrian circuit, and twelve pedestrian circuits is nearly 300 kilometers of trails by marked trails that correspond to all levels and all ages. Some lead to the pretty falls of Caramy (7 m high). On foot, backpack is by far the best way to discover the area and smell the smells of the hills.
