Relaxing location with parking on site. Close to beaches and St Ives.
I am originally from St Ives where I lived until moving away to the south east of England. In 2014 the call of the Cornwall became too strong to resist and I came home. I live, with my husband, a few minutes away by car. One of us is usually at hand if you need to contact us during your visit.
Sue purchased this Bungalow in 2016
Why Sue chose Lelant
Derowen is a comfortable and well equipped self-catering bungalow in the popular St Ives Holiday Village. A perfect place for a quiet getaway with immediate access to the surrounding woodland, perfect for walking and nature spotting. The Holiday Village is just a short drive from the spectacular and beautiful beaches of Cornwall with easy access to St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre and Lands End. If you are a bird lover, Hayle Estuary and Marazion RSPB sites are within easy reach. St Ives Holiday Village is only 4 miles from St Ives and during the summer months there is a regular bus service which will take you into the heart of charming St Ives or into nearby Penzance.

From the moment we booked to the day we arrived sue and Gerry was very helpful and informative on all our holiday queries. The bungalow was spotless and had everything you could think of in it, and the welcome pack of goodies was a lovely surprise thank you
It is situated in a great spot for travelling to all parts of Cornwall by car and local transport close by if you want to leave the driving.
We had a Lovely holiday.
Cottage very modern and clean. Had a warm welcome from Gerry on arrival.
Location is good - nice family park. Away from the hustle bustle, yet only a short drive to get anywhere we wanted.
Very welcoming hosts. A lovely welcome pack of main food supplies too.
I would highly recommend this property, very clean and all mod cons. A real home from home. Would certainly go back.
St Ives Bungalow
The bungalow in St Ives was extremely clean and up to date. Sue was very helpful and answered all of my questions very quickly. I highly recommend the bungalow for anyone wanting to explore in Cornwall.
What a brilliant family holiday lodge.
From start to end we had brilliant communication with the owners. A warm welcome and with them kindly purchasing some needed essentials milk, coffee etc... made it feel like home.
The area was fantastic for us to visit St Ives, St Michaels Mount and paradise island was only up the road. We drove into St Ives and was easy to get to and we was very lucky to get a car parking space on both visits.
The accommodation is extremely clean, fresh and perfect for our little family. The towels were clean and fresh with having a hair dryer, fairy liquid, sponges, dishwasher tablets, cleaning products to hand was brilliant.
The heating was very good as could set each room to our desired temperature. The shower was brilliant and nice power to it.
On site there was a lovely wooden walk, park, club house, restaurant, shop, bar and swimming pool. The swimming pool looked better than the photos on the website. The restaurant was very nice with friendly staff and not over priced food.
I would be sure to recommend this place to anyone and I know that if we were to go back we would be booking again with them.
Short stay in Derowen
Very welcoming and friendly hosts who supplied everything needed for a stay. The chalet was very clean and perfectly decorated within a peaceful location. Would definitely come back
Derowen is ideally located for exploring the delights Cornwall. Nearby there are magnificent beaches, secluded coves, picturesque towns and subtropical gardens.
St Ives is just 4 miles away and has stunning family friendly beaches, award winning restaurants, diverse and interesting shops and galleries. The St Ives Museum is a must visit for the whole family with displays showing the mining, farming and fishing history of the town. No need to take the car either, park at Lelant Saltings and enjoy the beautiful train ride into St Ives, arriving just above Porthminster Beach. On the way back why not alight at Carbis Bay and take in the golden sands there?
Hayle too has a long sandy beach and sand dunes that stretch up to the surfing beach at Gwithian and the island of Godrevy and its iconic lighthouse. Surfing tuition is available at Porthmeor beach in St Ives and at Gwithian in Hayle.
A short drive away is Marazion where you can walk along the causeway at low tide, or take a boat ride when the tide is in, to the magical St Michael’s Mount. The Mount has beautiful gardens to explore and a short climb takes you up to the castle, still the home of the St Aubyn family. As well as pubs, restaurants, cafes and independent shops, Marazion has an RSPB reserve on the wildlife marshes just outside the village.
Penzance is closeby and has an open air art deco lido on its long promenade. A good stroll along the promenade takes you to Newlyn, a working fishing village where you can buy the very freshest fish and seafood along the harbour front. Beyond Newlyn is the postcard pretty Mousehole with its small harbour beaches lined with cafes and gift shops. Look out for 14th century Keigwin House in Marazion, where its owner was shot dead in July 1595 during the Spanish Armada invasion.
West Cornwall has a strong mining heritage and it is possible to visit mines such as Geevor and Levant at Pendeen.
