Why Jackie Wilson chose Totnes

After a year long search for "the perfect" holiday retreat, we came across this beautiful barn, nestling in the hills of the South Hams and immediately fell in love. From the glorious beaches, to the harbour towns and beautiful country walks, we can think of no better place to relax, unwind and recharge your batteries.

What makes this barn unique

Ideally located for many different attractions; beaches, harbours, theme park, vineyard, country walks, market towns, pubs, restaurants.

Great house in a nice village

  • 5 of 5

Plenty of space for six adults. Furnishings and utensils all in good order. Jackie was very professional dealing with a small issue we had. Would highly recommend this house.

A beautiful, well equipped barn conversation

  • 5 of 5

A beautiful barn conversation that was well equipped and very clean. Whilst staying there I contacted the owner several times and she was very quick to respond.

The property is nestled in a tiny village with single track roads in the surrounding area which could be tricky at times but this did not detract from the holiday.

We visited Dittisham, Brixham, Salcombe and Dartmouth which were only a short distance away. We also did the river cruise from Totnes to Dartmouth and visited Torquay. The weather was good too!

I would happily stay here again - even the dogs loved it. I would recommend a meal at The Malsters Arms - the food is fantastic!

A fabulous holiday

Outstanding accommodation!

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful barn conversion in a stunning location. Six adults and a baby came here for five days to attend a wedding in the area. We had plenty of space to spread out in this spacious accommodation, comfy leather sofas in front of a wide screen tv, (much appreciated by the World Cup fans!) toys, books, games, videos, we were spoilt for choice.

The bedrooms are tastefully furnished with tv ‘s in every room and the mattresses were really comfortable, family bathroom and en suite bathrooms both spotlessly clean, with quality fixtures and fittings. The dining room table seats six comfortably, as does the kitchen island unit with bar stools for breakfast. Cot, high chair and stair gate were provided for us, and we would have loved to bring the dog if we hadn’t been going to a wedding.

Outside there was a lovely private garden with barbecue and paddling pool for the baby, and we were lucky enough to have the weather to enjoy both.

There are two pubs close by, the Madruth two minutes walk, small but very friendly, and the Maltsters Arms a half hour stroll over fields and through woods for a pint by the river, or a good meal (be sure to book).

We can’t recommend Cowslip Barn highly enough, it’s probably the nicest holiday Cottage we have ever stayed in.

Lovely Barn but felt Isolated

  • 4 of 5

Our overall impression of the property was very good. The owners take very good care of the property, it was very clean, spacious and provided all the essentials and more you need to have a pleasant stay.

I can't really moan about anything really as the property and location described on the website, I should have done some more research as my families only issue was we felt the location wasn't for us. Cornworthy where the Barn is situated is a small village with only a pub and it is very long walk or drive down some very narrow country roads which we wasn't fond of with our small dog or driving in our large cars.

Lovely retreat in Devon

  • 5 of 5

Lovely place to stay in Devon in a quiet village. Very well kept and maintained. Had a bit of trouble locating it at first on the road, but a simple phone call to John put us on the right track. Would definitely recommend to others.

Modern comfortable accommodation set in a very pretty and quiet village.

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a week at Cowslip Barn and was very impressed with the accommodation. The barn is an upside down dwelling with the bedrooms , bathrooms located downstairs. There is ample room for everyone and plenty of parking space. The beds were extremely comfortable and dressed with wonderful modern bedding. There was cake and wine on our arrival a lovely and appreciated touch.
