About Nick & Leigh White
We are Nick and Leigh White. We moved to Pole Rue Farm in Combe St Nicholas in March 2014, previously living, raising our family and running a popular holiday cottage for many years in Mere, Wiltshire. We run & manage both cottages with no agencies involved. We are proud to be independent as we know our cottages better than anybody. Our plan was to design and build ,mostly by ourselves some holiday cottages in this beautiful location. In March 2016 we opened Bluebell Cottage, then in July that year Rose Cottage. We are very grateful to have had many satisfied customers so far plus a number of our previous guests coming to try out our new cottages! Later last year, 2017, we rehomed 7 beautiful llamas. They have become very popular with our guests as they are very entertaining to watch but also very gentle animals. In our orchard area we have a variety of pet chickens which provide us and our guests with delicious eggs.
Nick & Leigh White purchased this Cottage in 2014
Why Nick & Leigh White chose Chard
We love the Blackdown Hills and the Coast being just 30 minutes away by car. There are many attractions nearby suitable for all ages.
What makes this Cottage unique
There is plenty of space for relaxing with no near neighbours. We have plenty of safe parking. The enclosed patio area is perfect for young children or a dog. Good walks from the cottage around local footpaths. We are within a 5-10 minute walk from the village centre with shop and a pub.

A modern and cosy cottage in the country
The cottage is well designed, maintained and sited giving a good base for exploring the local area. Spotlessly clean with all the facilities you could want. A friendly and approachable owner who is available if you need help but fades into the background when not needed.
An ideal cottage for a relaxing holiday
The cottage is one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. It is beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard and has everything you need for a relaxing break in a lovely location.
There are lots of places to visit within a short drive, but as we had some amazing weather for September/October it was also great to sit in the garden and read and relax. Especially with the llamas for company in the next field!
Leigh & Nick are friendly and helpful with some good tips about places to visit and where to eat out.
We would recommend the cottages to everyone.
A great cottage situated on a very peaceful farm
Lovely few days at this comfortable cottage. Everything was spot on and we were made to feel very welcome. My grandson was fascinated with the lamas and chickens. A really great location to explore the beautiful coastline.
